We went on Valentine's Day for late lunch/ early dinner to beat the crowds. The place was pretty empty. I didn't care too much for the seating arrangement. They sat us close to a doorway that the staff frequent, so it wasn't very private. There was always someone walking by. Even though there seemed to be a lot of staff, service was a bit slow. It took a while for them to take our order, I even had to let someone know we were ready to order. However, they were quick and attentive when bringing chips and salsa and bean dip. They were also very nice and polite. The chips weren't warm or fresh, but not stale either. The salsa was really good, probably the best I had from a Mexican restaurant! I did not like the bean dip. It has a taste of allspice or nutmeg that I really don't like (the bean dip taste the same as all the others I've tried at other restaurants), but my husband liked it. It was just the two of us, and our meals took a long time to prepare, longer than any other restaurant we've been to, which was weird since the place was pretty empty. That being said, the food was really good! Maybe that's why it takes so long, lol. I got the number 12, Taco, enchilada, and Chile Relleno plate. It was so much food, and I had a lot of leftovers, but since I've never been, I wanted to try a variety of what they offer. I really liked everything. My husband ordered the Carne Tampequena (not sure of the spelling) it was meat and veggies wrapped in bacon. He liked it but said he would order something different next time. We also ordered the fried ice cream, I never had fried ice cream, so I don't know how it's supposed to taste, but it was so chewy and hard to eat! It seemed like they pre-make it and keep it in the freezer, based on the taste and texture. It's definitely not something I would order again. But they made it look very pretty and appetizing! Even though service wasn't the best, we still left a big tip, it was Valentine's Day after all! Margaritas and beer were great. So were the chips and salsa. Food not so good. The Chile Verde was not flavorful. The serving size looked as if they were serving a child. We also waited forever for a waitress to come take our drink order. While other patrons had their drinks, even water immediately after they were seated.

The food was alright. Not sure why the high reviews but maybe due to the old name of the restaurant maybe the food was better then but it wasn't that good under the new name. GOOGLE SHOULD UPDATE THE NAME FOR SEARCHING PURPOSES AS I WAS EXPECTING THE OLD RESTAURANT WHEN I GOT THERE. The food didn't have much flavor and it was overpriced. The servers were very friendly and refills were given on chips and drinks.

I recently went on a Sunday they didn't have seafood or chile rellenos very disappointed ordered cocido and it was awful had a tangy taste the server was very nice . This Restuarant is under new owners. It use to be good not anymore. I won't be back agian . Hopefully the new owners get together.

Good service, food tastes good. Prices are very high for what you get. I ordered a taquito dinner and what arrived was a plate of beans and rice with three very small taquitos that had been cut in half for presentation. To me this made it feel like all I got was crunchy taquito ends and not any actual full taquitos. Had they not be cut each of the three taquitos was probably about 3.5 inches in length. That's not worth $18. Also I ordered a regular blended margarita to which the server said nothing and wrote it down. When I received the bill I found out it was a double margarita that I'd been served. I feel like customers should the told they are getting a double serving of alcohol no matter if it's a price change or not. I'm not upset by it but would have liked to know so I could have said no to the order. I was expecting to be able to drive after the dinner but a double serving of alcohol is a not go for me. I would return but won't be ordering the taquitos again even though they tasted great. Just not worth the price for what you get for that plate.
