A Disturbing Experience, Absolutely Non-recommendable!I recently had a very unfortunate experience at this hotel that left a sour taste. I had flown in from LAX to Sacramento and realized I had left my physical debit card at home. Despite having already booked my room through the state, the front desk attendant, an Asian lady, was extremely uncooperative and insisted on a physical card for incidental charges. This was late at night, around 11 PM - 12 AM. Her lack of empathy and unwillingness to assist in this predicament was disheartening. The situation was already stressful, and her unhelpful demeanor only added to my distress. The hotel claims to offer top-notch customer service, but my experience was far from it. Instead of trying to find a solution or a workaround, she remained rigid in her demands, showing no understanding or flexibility. I was under the impression that my room was all paid for since it was booked by the state, so her insistence on the incidental charges left me confused and frustrated. I was left with no choice but to leave and find alternate accommodation. After wasting an hour in the futile attempt to resolve the issue, I ended up going to the Holiday Inn, which thankfully provided a much more pleasant experience. In conclusion, I would strongly caution anyone considering this hotel. The lack of customer service and understanding was unacceptable. The hotel failed to meet the basic requirements of hospitality and empathy. I assure you, I will never return to this place and would advise others to avoid it at all costs.

I was going to a music festival in Sacramento for the weekend. I thought I'd treat myself to a night at a nice hotel. I'd always heard good things about Marriott hotels, but my experience at Courtyard by Marriott Rancho Cordova was definitely not good.I arrived at the hotel around 1am. I had been at the music festival all day. I was dehydrated, exhausted, and soaked in sweat. I was really looking forward to a shower and a nice bed. As I pulled into the parking lot, I noticed the hotel was located next to an abandoned Denny's and several homeless people were huddled in the bus stop outside. I went inside the hotel to check-in. The lobby looked nice. I pulled out my credit card for the front desk person and realized I had lost my ID at the music festival. I searched all my pockets, my purse, my suitcase, and my car. It was 100% lost. The front desk person said I had to have a photo ID --- drivers license or passport ---or I could not rent the room I booked. I understand the policy. I know why it exists; however, there are circumstances that are sometimes beyond a person's control. What if I was flying in from another country and had lost my passport? I attempted to use my nursing badge as a photo ID. I had my Expedia booking # and the credit card I'd used to book the room. No go. When I got home, I talked to Expedia about getting my money back. Expedia called the Marriott and the Marriott refused to refund me. They cited their 24-hour cancellation policy. What a joke! I had not cancelled or been a no-show. I lost my ID!I'm giving this hotel a one-star rating because for $280/night, I shouldn't be staying next to an abandoned Denny's where homeless people are hanging out, and I feel like someone at the Marriott should have had a heart. Again, what if I had been traveling from out of the country? In short, my "non-refundable" $280 got me a baby wipe bath and a night in my car.

Stayed overnight at the hotel. I get when hotels in high density areas require paid parking. This hotel is along a strip of other hotels, other than charging the extra money there is no reason I can tell why to charge for parking. The room was clean but the shower was empty of the body wash and shampoo; the hotel was able to provide a bar of soap but I had to call up for it and no apology for the empty supplies. The hotel is directly next to a Mexican restaurant and a McDonalds; otherwise there are bars and restaurants a short walk away. The neighborhood seemed safe enough, would stay again as I'm sure the lack of supplies was just an oversight.

You're not safe at a Marriott hotel. Plus their rooms aren't clean according to all the reviews. You should stay elsewhere.

Stayed in this property for two separate weeks. The property is located in an ok area, short walk from a good mexican restaurant and mcdonalds. Unfortunately there are a few homeless nearby. I did see security in the parking lot. I see alot of state employees and Cal fire staying here. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Nice clean sofa and good tv. Very comfortable bed and pillows. I heard no noise from outside. The gym is small but has new equipment and everything you need for a quick workout, treadmill, elliptical, weight bench and dumbbells. The starbucks downstairs was good and made my ices coffee as i requested. I would stay again.

Stayed two nights for a work training. Check-in was easy. $10 for parking per night. There was plenty of parking. The room was good - large and clean. They had a fitness center that was clean.I mostly liked the bistro. Great menu and good prices. They didn't have enough staff so they had to run back and forth between the front desk and bistro. I appreciated their hard work and dedication. The only issue I had was that myself and my coworker were over-charged for our rooms and incidentals were inaccurately charged. It took a while to get it sorted out upon check-out.

Rooms are totally fine, friendly staff, but the parking lot was nearly empty, yet they charged extra for parking. We easily found a similar hotel with free parking and booked it for our second night.

Arrived at the hotel for a 2 day business conference at approximately 8:30pm. Check in was normal, however the front desk was not very pleasant, as the employee didn't seem to want to be there. Took almost 10 minutes to check in, even though I had made reservations in advance. (I was the only person checking in). Prior to flying into Sacramento, I wanted to make sure that the restaurant would be open, and the Marriott advertised 10:30 as the closing time. After checking in I walked across the lobby to the bar/restaurant. I asked if they were still open and the reply was, I could make you something, but to be honest with you, I already cleaned the grill and put away all the food. There is a McDonalds next door that closes in 10- minutes. WOW! I went to my room and ordered Grubhub. The next morning at 7:30am I went down for coffee and a complementary breakfast before my meeting. I was told breakfast wasn't set up yet, and to come back in 20-30 minutes. WOW! Instead, this time I did go to McD next door. On my business break, I returned to the hotel and checked out a day early. I am an avid Marriott cardholder, and this was one of the most disappointing locations I have been to.

This is a good place cleanliness wise but everything about the money scamming is true. They charge you automatically a extra200 just incase there is damages to the room. The Starbucks is never open and the staff are rude stank face bitches.

Just returned from our third stay here. We have family in Sacramento that we visit regularly. The remodel is very nice. The bistro staff is great, especially the breakfast lady. BUT, it's not going to stay nice for very long. Our room had very obviously not been vacuumed, swept or mopped. There were bits of paper and foil, probably from food containers, on the carpet. There was hair and dust in the bathroom. The shower was slippery, I suppose from soap scum. I hope they changed the sheets but I'm not really sure. We were charged for parking for each night even though we'd made it very clear that we did not have a car upon check in. Marriott is really going downhill, but I I'm sure they'd blame it on their inability to hire enough staff. Pay them a decent wage, people deserve respect.

I was impressed. The hotel doesn't have much curb appeal. It looks like one of those 1980s two-story hotels that you found on every freeway off ramp. My room was extremely comfortable and I was upgraded to a one bedroom suite. Traveling on government business working nearby at the emergency services office, this was a perfect choice for a one-night stay. It would have actually been a comfortable choice for several nights.

Pleasantly surprised by how great this hotel was for our recent soccer tournament stay! The rooms were so clean and appeared to be recently renovated. Beds were super comfy. The staff was so incredibly friendly and accommodating during our stay. Would absolutely stay again!

First, I want to say I appreciate Bonvoys loyalty program. We had two nights comped via our membership. We stayed at this location using them for a club sport weekend tournament. I want to share minor constructive criticism though the hotel needs to address. In checking out we saw they charged $10 per day for parking. This hotel sits is a sea of parking lots among other hotels & fast food spots. Dont charge loyal patrons for parking in a location like this. Totally understand if youre in a dense area where there are not enough spots but this is not one of them. Guests are on an island and have no where to go elsewhere. It just feels a bit desperate honestly. Again, very pleasant stay otherwise. Just consider doing away with this fee please.

****update, after I disputed the charges with bank, they determined the charges were unfounded; they weren't able to show proof I was smoking in the room, so they had to refund the $170 - 2 months later. I have gotten no response from Marriott, I had to fight these charges myself. Another example of "traveling while black". Ridiculous.
