Weird and dysfunctional experience. Heard great things about this place so decided to try it out with my kid and dad. Upon arriving it took the host 10 plus minutes to realize we were standing around waiting on a table. (They had only like 3 tables sat in the entire restaurant). Once we got a table they didn’t give us any menus. We almost waited another 20 minutes to receive our menus. When we got the food; it wasn’t very flavorful and we didn’t have any silverware. And then in the middle of eating my elderly dad needed to find the closest restroom. We were not guests of the hotel. We dined in as walk in and never even been inside the hotel. We were not guests staying there. When somebody from the kitchen staff gave my dad directions to the bathroom he went to a table and said “sorry for the wait. This old man that has no idea what he is doing needed directions to the bathroom.” Super rude and uncalled for. Waiting for a table, menus, silverware, food that wasn’t even good and an employee talking negatively on my elderly father did not make this dinner a good experience. Won’t be back again

On our way to the PNW we stopped at the Red Lion overnight. We were happy that they have a bar and restaurant in the building as we had just spent 7.5 hrs in the car and didn't want to get back behind the wheel. Chef and the bartender both made the evening very pleasant. Chef was so personable and we talked cooking and food. Here shrimp cocktail and taquitos were superb. The biggest surprise, though was the Veggie Bowl! Veggies were fresh and a great variety and I could eat a bowl of the cilantro, lime and pesto rice by itself!! The bartender stayed to help us even though it was 6 mins. 'til closing. So glad we went down to check it out. Our Phx Suns were on the telly too!

I'm not sure of the music. Some songs were good, and others were off key.

We had a family visit out in this area. Was able to book the room a while in advance as they were pet friendly. The food upon our arrival was made until 10pm so the service/cook whipped it up for us about 8:30/9pm as nobody else was around to eat at that time. Around $80 to feed a family of 4 with 4 meals and 1 appetizer. Larry. I like you sir. He was the gentlemen who watched the door at their bar/club they have downstairs in the lobby. We experienced it on a Saturday night. Slightly older crowd but had a good time with a full bar. Also Russell at the front desk was friendly and efficient at check in and the following evening. Mrs. Betty (I hope I got your name right) was a gem of a gem. She gave me something I was NOT at all angling for that was very nice for me and my family and helped our pockets out a little. All and all I would stay again. Hopefully grounds can get the freaks ? rounded up a bit but very central to everything we did and everywhere we wanted to go. Thank you for a great stay. (Can you believe I didn't take any pictures of the grounds or lobby oh well).

I waited 45-50 minutes for a pear and Gorgonzola salad. She said the chef made a pear Gorgonzola flatbread. I gave up and told them I was too hungry to wait anymore. I went to the Chinese restaurant down the street and had pad thaï n mixed tempura in less than 10 minutes.

Found this place in Redding and didn't realize it was in a Red Lion Hotel. No problem the food and service was good but ambiance ok.
