Let me be clear: this is one of the best places in Redding for amazing food. The husband is the chef, and the wife runs the floor, and together, they've created an amazing culinary experience. Lots of appetizers to choose from, diverse wine and beer list, homemade soups that will knock your socks off, wonderful entree options for any palette, and homemade desserts to bring it all home. Needless to say, the service and experience is top tier - and you feel how much they care about you from the moment you walk in the door. The ambiance is quaint and small with a local photographer gracing the walls. Make a reservation - you can leave a message before they open, and she will call you back. This restaurant is absolutely fantastic, and I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to have an elegant evening with top-tier food and unprecedented service. To you, Paradisio, thank you for working so hard to give us such an amazing place to enjoy.

This is by far the best restaurant in Redding! Very quaint, super attentive server, and you just can't beat this place!

Cafe Paradisio has become our date night/special occasion go-to. The food is always spot on, service friendly and attentive without being intrusive, and the ambience comfortable and intimate. The beer and wine list always seems to have some great local offerings as well. Simply put they never disappoint.

We had the steak tartar starter...excellent flavor, then the filet with slipper lobster cooked perfectly with great flavor. The creme brulet was excellent as always. The server is alway on time with everything and very helpful.

I had heard great things, lived in the area for 15 years but never been here. My boyfriend and I were on our first outing in 6 months because of work. The decorations are cozy and comforting, beautiful photographs of national recreation areas. I was super impressed that with just three staff (which I counted) we were seated, served, and given our check within the hour/ hour and a half of being there. We got the surf and turf and scallops. Also the Brie appetizer. All were amazing! Perfectly cooked and seasoned. Staff was attentive and welcoming. Can’t wait to go again! Thankyou for a great meal!

This is hands down the best food in Redding. I’ve been here several times and the food is on point each and every time. The menu changes seasonally and it’s always outstanding. What’s even more amazing are the chef and his wife run the whole thing, and give outstanding service. It’s small so it’s always best to get a reservation to insure they can get you in, but it is worth it!

Nice place, small and intimate area, tables seem rather close. The chicken Marsala very good, a bit salty for my taste but still delicious. The Crème brûlée was excellent. They have nice wine pairing for each entree which was an added help. I will return!

One of my favorite restaurants, I always get the chicken marsala with mashed potatoes instead of penne pasta & my husband usually gets either a New York or ribeye depending on what they have that day. I've also tried the pesto pasta and lasagna with meatballs and both were very delicious. The waitress is always super attentive and kind, I highly recommends this cute hidden gem!

During a business trip, I dined twice at Cafe Paradiso, and overall, it was a fantastic experience. The server was amiable (homey is the correct description) and provided excellent recommendations. I tried the soup, garden salad, and chicken marsala the first night, and all were delicious. The second night, I had the Brussels sprout and asked for it to be slightly more charred, and the decadent taste remains in my memory. The elk burger was tasty but large enough that it was hard to bite into. The crisp fries were as I liked them. I will eat again at Cafe Paradiso and try the other dishes, soup, and Brussels sprouts.

FOOD: This place has gone way down hill since the last time I dined here about a year ago. We were served pea purée in a tiny side bowl that tasted like it had three times too much salt in it. Thank goodness, I tried it before serving it to our baby who the cook knew it was intended for. Aside from being distasteful— that much salt would have upset our baby’s stomach, increased his blood pressure and harmed his kidneys had I actually fed it to him. As far as my dish— my younger brother makes a much better Alfredo sauce from scratch (seriously) than what I was served this time, which was disgusting compared to what I remember having here the last time. Felt like I ate a half cup of flour—pasty, bland and gross. I only kept it as we had already sent back the pea purée and the cook seemed to take it personally. (He didn’t even attempt to remake the pea purée with less salt.) He instead, sent out some mashed potatoes, which we had previously notified the waitress my baby does not eat. We had originally asked for boiled carrots but apparently that was too hard for this establishment to come by. As expected, my baby did not eat the mashers (which were fine from what I tasted). No one else was in the mood for them either so they just sat on the table and went to waste. Maybe the cook just didn’t care as it was towards the end of the night and he wanted to go home? Maybe the cook is the owner of this restaurant with no one to call him out on his level of service? Seemed like that… At least the shrimp was deveined and not over or under cooked. The cesar salad was actually really good and my brother said the lasagna was okay.SERVICE: The service got better as the night went on and people started leaving. Although it’s a small place, we had to wait a while to order each new item and had to ask for limes three times before the waitress finally provided them. She seemed a bit flustered but kept as calm as she could. She was great at interacting with our baby as the restaurant became less busy. She made a good wine suggestion, which I went with after sampling two varietals.ATMOSPHERE: The atmosphere hasn’t changed much, it’s still comfortable in the space. The only thing that made it awkward was that we could see directly into the kitchen at the faces of the cook and other staff as they reacted / overreacted to our orders each time the waitress went in to ask permission for what we had requested. The cook also seemed to be joking with the dishwasher about what we sent back / ordered next. It honestly made me question what was happening to our food and regret choosing this place for my birthday dinner.CONCLUSION: We still tipped the waitress almost 20% as she was kind, however we will come back sometime in the distant future or when the current cook has been replaced.

One of my favorite new hidden gems. Food is excellent every time, my favorite is the chicken Marsala with mashed potatoes instead of pasta noodles. Highly recommended!
