Absolutely my favorite restaurant! I adore the fact that it's never overcrowded, providing a sense of privacy. Nestled in a stunning location with an enchanting view of boats, it's a truly beautiful place. The food is exceptionally delicious, and the overall atmosphere is simply fantastic.

Just ate here at the Baleen kitchen tonight. WOW had chefs table dinner with my friends and the TEN course meal was a 10 out of 10 can’t believe that Baleen Kitchen is not on everyone’s radar! This place should be a Michelin star rated restaurant! The chef sourced meal was the best meal I’ve ever had!

Amazing experience: “Chef’s Table”. Our own, chef, our own personalized 10-course meal. Every one of the 10 courses was a delicacy. Half feast, half entertainment. Best meal I ever had.

I've eaten here a number of times over the years and normally love the place. This time was disappointing.Fig appetizer was handed to me. Strange and off-putting.Beet salad, bread and sorbet were very good.Steak was cooked nicely, but was very tough. Halibut tasteless.Fodue was tasty, although portions frugal.

Food was just OK. Steak was very tough and not very flavorful. Chicken would have been better with crispier skin and less aggressive sauce - best part of the plate was the broccolini and the puréed veg underneath. Carrot side would have been so much better with just a bit of caramelization. Husband liked his cioppino.Parking: Free valet

Such a hidden gem. I recently visited Baleen’s Kitchen for the first time and was blown away by the hospitality and culinary experience. Every dish was hand crafted and full of flavor. I was particularly excited to learn about their commitment to farm to folk dining. And the view! Such an amazing experience. Def my new favorite restaurant.

This restaurant exceeded my highest expectations! My family and I split the Hamachi Crudo, Focaccia, and Caesar salad to start and they were all incredible. The true stars were the entrees. My mom and I shared the Porcini dusted scallops and the Swordfish- both perfection. Loved the Sticky Toffee Pudding but the sorbet was surprisingly our favorite. All worth the price for this quality. Great ambience and staff..will be back.

I’ve dined at the Baleen Kitchen many times for special occasions. The general atmosphere is consistently peaceful, with the marina just outside, a warm fireplace in both the dining and lounge areas, and a top tier service team that will always know when you need assistance (ordering, drinks, questions, tab, etc.); such a serene dining experience is unmatched. The food is pristine, with consistently beautiful plating presentation. If I ever remembered, I would take a picture before diving into my meal. But alas, I can’t help but to cut into my food and indulge before remembering to take a photo. Maybe one day.Tonight I had Ribeye, medium-rare, served with potatoes, broccolini and a delicious herbal sauce. As a steak person, I don’t expect restaurants to make a perfect medium-rare. Even at some highly recommended steakhouses in the area I’ve almost always been served a rare steak, or medium — lacking much of the natural juices. Tonight my steak was cooked and dressed better than I could have done myself; perfectly juicy as each bite nearly melted in my mouth, I hardly even had to chew.Needless to say, the Baleen Kitchen is at the top of my list when it comes to any special occasion. For consistency, environment, service and overall quality, there are very few restaurants in greater Los Angeles which could compare to this dining experience.

Ladies dinner in the bar area was a perfect holiday spot. We each really enjoyed our meals and our drinks were great. The holiday drink menu was wonderful, and had a nice variety. The Cioppino is some of the best I’ve had in a long time.

Dined at Baleen several times while staying at the Portofino Hotel & Marina. The views here are beautiful. Nice breakfast selections (Avocado Toast Bar rocks!), and our dinner experiences were terrific as well. Cozy fireplace, excellent cocktails mixed by knowledgeable bartenders, and warm, friendly service. Our favorite dishes were the crab dip, cioppino, and the swordfish Vera Cruz - best I ever had, honestly. Our daughter loved the flatbread. And we all really enjoyed the freshly baked house-made focaccia bread Chef Hung brought over as a little surprise...so nice!!
