Lots of new dumpling restaurants popping up in the South Bay recently. Excited to try them all! Dumpling Mix is nice and spacious. The food we ordered was overall good, but nothing great. The portions were on the small side but the prices were on the high end. Shrimp and pork dumplings: you can choose to get the dumplings, steamed or pan fried. I got the steamed dumplings and while they tasted good, they are quite small. Beef roll: again the taste was good, but it was only for small pieces. Braised beef noodle soup: average tasting. The noodles seemed like the dry ones you get from the supermarket. While the beef was nice and tender, the soup was just average tasting. Definitely not worth the price. Popcorn chicken: again pretty average tasting. While it was still crunchy, it seemed like it was over fried. You also don't get to choose any spice to be added to it. Seaweed fried fish: got this one because my mom usually likes this dish. Again, seems like it was overly fried, and it was just average tasting.

Ordered takeout at the restaurant right when it opened at 5 PM for dinner service. Placed the order at 5:05 PM and it was ready at 5:55 PM. To provide some context, they were working on maybe two other takeout orders at most. There were two people dining in. 50 min for a takeout order is way too long given the context. Onto to the food - the dumplings are good. Fish/cilantro ($16) and pork/shrimp ($15) dumplings were really solid. Dumpling skins are on the thicker side. The prices are really high for what you get. 8 dumplings per serving so that's basically $2/dumpling the size of a ping pong ball and maybe smaller. You can buy these same type of dumplings (frozen) for probably 40 cents per in the SGV. Tried the dry spicy beef noodle ($18) and it's probably the best value given the portion size. Popcorn chicken ($12) is also a good value and very tasty. Beef roll ($12) is a bit dry - the pancake is on the thicker side. Pork and shrimp won tons ($14) are pretty good, but a bit too much on the savory side. There's a usually a better balance of savory, sweet and acid with that dish in most Chinese establishments. Overall, the food is good. However, it's way too pricey for what it is and the takeout time is egregiously long. I would compare this to paying $20 for a good burger at a dine in spot. Yes, it's a good burger, but I'd be much happier paying for a $5.50 double double at In 'N Out.

I have been waiting for this place to open and it finally did. Came here for the soft opening a few weeks ago and got carry out and loved the fact I could speak to the staff in mandarin and made me feel like I was back in Taiwan. The place was beautifully decorated, modern and hip. I am overjoyed I can fulfill my Asian food cravings just minutes away. I ordered a lot of food to try because I wanted to give my honest opinion about the place, I thought the food was good but not great as much as I wanted it to be. Some dishes are excellent and some just meh. At the soft opening time I would say 3 stars. So I decided to dine in to see if maybe I was wrong and I would stand by the 3 stars maybe 3.5. I think there is definitely room for improvement to get this to 4 to 5 star place in my opinion. Here is the breakdown of what I ordered during the soft opening and dine in: Marinated cucumber salad - if this was a true Taiwanese style it is lacking the garlic. To me this was just okay. Beef Roll - everyone in my party agreed that this was good and tasty. Popcorn Chicken w/ Basil - hands down this had to be the best dish. The spices and crispy crunch is very similar to the night market stands in Taiwan. the chicken was really tender and the spice hit every tastebud heaven. 5 for this one. Potato String Shrimp - so unique and yummy. Everyone loved this one. It was so beautifully presented and fried so well. Potato Shoe string wrapped around 1 shrimp fishcake deep fried how can you go wrong in ordering anything fried. Fish & Cilantro dumplings - both times I ordered this one steamed and both times I was not disappointed. They definitely know how to my their dumplings. I looked in the kitchen and I can see them actually making each dumpling. This place is called Dumplings Mix for a reason. 5+ star for their dumplings. Cabbage & pork dumpling - ordered this both time and very constant the first and second time also good. Corn & Chicken dumplings - ordered this carry out and it was good but I still prefer the fish & cilantro dumpling. I still would recommend this. Shrimp and Pork Wonton - I ordered this carry out and it's very good. The soup had veggies overall good comfort food. Braised beef noodle soup and Spicy beef noodle soup - ordered this both times. Not as spicy as we are used too but very close in taste to some of the restaurants in Taiwan but not the price lol. If you want it spicy add chili oil and it's pretty close. The beef was tender and broth was light and not too oily topped with green onions and Gai Choi (I think Chinese mustard greens) . Sesame Noodle - I ordered this both times and both times I would say the same thing... where's the sesame? Also the noodles are overcooked and a bit mushy. I didn't taste the sesame or sesame oil. As much as i love sesame noodles, this is one that they can really improve one. Regardless I would continue to order this dish to see if it will get better as they are in business. Hot and Sour soup - I ordered this both times and I have to say it but they can definitely improve on this. The first time I got this the soup was luke warm, was not spicy and was not sour. It didn't taste like hot and sour soup. I also noticed that they had cabbage in it which negates the taste of the soup completely. So to give it a second try, I ordered it again during my dine in experience and again, I was disappointed. The soup was not sour and not spicy. Everyone in my party had the same conclusion. Most likely I would not order this again since both times had the same results. I was not so hot and sour for this soup. If you like sweet drinks I highly recommend the peach jasmine green tea and the pineapple jasmine green tea. Both very fragrant and great for a warm day. All in all I will continue to go to this place and will see if any of the dishes will improve with time. Hand down, their dumplings are the bomb....I think they should sell them by the dozen so we can freeze them and have it when we want. It's an Asian thing. LoL.

Good food, decent prices, good portions. Beef noodle soup was hot, and beef was tender. Husband enjoyed the fried rice. Pan fried dumplings had a crispy bottom. Service was excellent. Very attentive staff. Food came out pretty fast.

We were excited to try out this new dumpling place and were not disappointed.Food: everything we ordered was pretty good. We ordered and tried a lot of different things so we can bring some home. Prices are slightly above average but not outrageous in today’s scales.Dumplings: we tried the surf & turf pan fried, it took a while to serve, though it was worth the wait. There were 8 (small) pieces and they tasted very good!Scallion Pan Cake: very nicely made, we liked itNoodles: braised beef noodles soup, we liked the thick al dente noodles, and I liked the thick beef (my wife would prefer them to be smaller), the preserved vegetables were excellent, and soup was fine.Beef roll: pretty tasty with a little flaky skinLettuce w/ Garlic, I loved it but not sure if people would pay $15 for a lettuce dish, ha haCucumbers had a nice presentation, crunch and fresh, with pretty good sauceThe atmosphere is nice and new, the ordering is via QR code and directly so it’s fast and efficient, and there is no need to wait for the staff. The staff is new, they were pretty focused on the basic stuff like delivering the food, getting water, etc, not so much socializing and interaction. Generally, the newer style of self ordering and minimal service which is ok with us.Parking: plenty of free parking in this good sized mall.

So happy to see a new Taiwanese spot near home! We got the beef noodle soup, the spicy wonton, and popcorn chicken and wow the popcorn was really good! Will definitely be back!

The new restaurant is beautifully designed and a great addition to Redondo Beach. Hoping they add more dishes to the menu soon. Beef noodle soup and dumplings were pretty good. Thank you Dumpling Mix!

Excellent braised tender beef noodle soup. Yummy seaweed and cucumber appetizer. The beef roll was so delicious and nicely wrapped in semi crispy flour wrap. The popcorn chicken is crispy outside and tender inside fried with basil leaves. The only miss is the surf and turf (pork, chicken and shrimp) dumplings where the filling is a little inconsistent and fell apart easily from the steamed dumplings .

Delicious! So glad this place finally opened. Everything was good but string beans were the best! You have to get them!

Highly anticipated and waited for a long time to try this place out. Drove from Ontario to Redondo Beach just to try this place because I love dumpling and noodles. The food was the best. If you’re into juicy dumplings this is the spot to go to. I tried the spicy beef noodle, both soup and no soup one. Beef was very tender and the broth was top notch. Dumpling was super good with juices coming out in your mouth. I also tried their cold seaweed and cucumber. They were both good. I highly recommend this place if you’re in the area and want to try authentic Chinese/Taiwanese style dumplings and noodles. Service was 5 stars as well. Make sure to try their teas. They got a variety of them.

Nice new spot for dumplings and noodles. The spicy wontons were our favorite. Tried two kinds of dumplings and they all came out freshly steamed and delicious. I will say that some items take longer than others, but hopefully that will improve with time. The only other real minus is that the menu isn't fully fleshed out yet and lacks some descriptions for ingredients and spiciness. Everything is ordered via QR code and some modifications are available but you can tell your server if you have a special request. Overall, I will definitely be coming back and I would recommend this place if you're a dumpling fan. Enjoy!Parking: Shared lot with many other businesses. Can be hard to get a close spot during peak hours.
