There was this girl. I heard someone say her name. Alani, Kalani or something. She messed up my order twice and was stumbling with the food. She was extremely rude and didn't seem like she knew much.

Great fish tacos at the fish restaurant near the “closed at 2pm” breakfast diner.

Management is lacking. Foods okay. But their pole rentals and bait shack is a scam. Paid for 2 pole rentals at $7 each. One of them had a tangled reel. They exchanged it. The other poles line snapped within the first 5 minutes and they wouldn't replace it. They told me to buy hooks ($5) and put them on myself. I returned the pole instead. So I paid $7 for 5 minutes.

We are asian group of 10 people with two familes ordered 7 churros for kids but those two hispanic workers made us to wait more than 20 minutes outside because they forgot our order or didn't serve intentionally. When we complained they finally brought our churros all burnt and I figured they did this to us on purpose. I had 70 years old mom with me and I didn't want to go through with them while she was still trembling with cold. We just left the store and just trashed all those churros.

I visit last night . There was a young guy with glasses maybe Hispanic working and an African American . They were extremely slow and lazy . I ordered a few things and they didn’t have it . They took forever and I was the only client. My husband went back 5 mins later to get another ice cream and they said it was close . It was 9:04 and based on the reviews the shop closes at 10pm. We also ordered a strawberry sundae and got a brownie sundae. The Hispanic guy said that’s what we ordered. We decided to walk further down and buy from the other ice cream shop.

We were surprised that they had boba drinks here. The strawberry boba was pretty tasty. Didn't get as many tapioca balls in our drink as we usually get at typical boba-centric shops, but it was good in general.

(Desserted 09/16/16 FR @ 9:00pm): Make an express line to this sweet snack shack! After a meal nearby at Pacific Fish Center & Restaurant with a couple longtime friends, we were ready for dessert and saw Pier Express literally steps away on the Redondo Beach Pier. We were still kind of hungry, but in my book there was always room for dessert especially if it involved ice cream! Would this be a worthy shop for our respective sweet teeth!? PURCHASE Funnel Cake With Fresh Strawberries & Black Cherry Vanilla Ice Cream ($8.75): This carnival, county fair, Knott's Berry Farm favorite was available here and a perfect treat that was easily shareable. A large crunchy outside semi-moist inside covered in powdered sugar, minimally peppered with strawberry jam (not even actual strawberries), a couple scoops of strawberry ice cream, and dolloped with puffy whipped cream, this satisfied the three of us as we licked our sticky fingers. It was good...but not great SERVICE You approached one of the order windows where you told the lone tired young gentleman what you wanted, paid up, and then minutes later your food was ready - easy-peasy! PARKING (Varied; FREE this instance) We were lucky to have found a spot on a nearby street and walked for about five minutes. Otherwise, there was a paid covered parking lot right at the pier, paid lots, and plenty of metered/timed parking along all surrounding streets if you were lucky. ATMOSPHERE, Dí‰COR, AMBIENCE A long establishment shaded by yellow-awning, decorated by colorful tiles, and stretched by a multitude of Plexiglass windows that peered inside located on the Redondo Beach Pier, these vibrant visuals easily drew you in. With a plethora of legible menus and appetite-induced posters, this was simplicity with an ocean view. With no inside dining, there were random benches and tables just steps away. There was plenty of natural lighting since you were outside while bright electric pier lighting filled in the rest. There were no TVs nor any music in the background ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL Pier Express was a nice way to cap off an earlier meal and would certainly consider them again next time I was in the area. With an above-average selection of standard ice cream flavors, frozen yogurt, coffee, slushies, smoothies, of course the funnel cake and more, there was enough enticement for all ages. The prices were slightly on the high side albeit the funnel cake was standard price, but it was the beach. I found fairly good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $9.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). Since this was a "Cash Only" business (one full-star deduction on my scale) they didn't accepted any as well as my credit card of choice...AMEX! 3.5 STARS
