Hotel Breakfast Buffet. Almost $30 per person. Absolutely unreal price for a really very average buffet. Most items were luke warm, a very limited selection, stale pastry. There were no bowls available anywhere for cereal/oatmeal.One of the most expensive meals we had during our trip. Really unimpressed. We'd return to the hotel but skip the breakfast every time.

Breakfast buffet neglected. Oatmeal like cement. Ordered off the menu. Crazy expensive. Ran right to the bathroom. Server was very nice and respectful.

The food and service are fine. The business itself is quite shady. They give you one price on the menu, say $29. Then, when you go to pay they slap a $2 "service charge". This charge is NOT a tip, (although people probably see it and tip less). It goes directly to the business owner. Here is an idea, if you need to raise prices, just raise prices. Stop scamming your customers and de facto stealing tips from your hardworking employees.

Juan is the best bartender and server. He made us the most delicious and inventive cocktails, each one was 10/10. We enjoyed food and drinks many times over our weekend trip, and would have gone back if we had more time. Thank you, Juan!

On this occasion, we returned to SOL for Sunday brunch. The food, drinks, and vibe were great, and we once again received the excellent customer service we've come to ♥ (and expect) from the whole crew. Thanks again to Luis, the hostesses, the bar crew, and to everyone!

I had the most delicious dinner at SOL recently, located inside of the Sonesta Redondo Beach & Marina hotel. Our group of 4 tried a variety of cocktails and food items, and everything was superb. Some highlights were the Pork Risotto, the Honey Walnut Shrimp, and the Beef Spare Ribs. On the lighter side, the Ahi Tuna Tartare was outstanding. The restaurant itself is beautiful and spacious, with lots of natural light and great views of the ocean and harbor. We started with drinks on the outdoor patio, around a fire pit (so cozy), and then moved inside for dinner. I want to give a special shout-out as well to Juan, who was both our bartender and server for the evening. He made the BEST drinks and was just a delightful human all around. Next time you're in the area, or if you're staying at the hotel, I highly recommend giving this new restaurant a try!

Natasha's birthday brunch at SOL was nice, so we returned for dinner. This time, we sat outside and enjoyed a nice dinner overlooking the marina. Thanks, once more, to all of you for a great overall experience! ?? ? ?

My husband had the buffet and waited the entire breakfast for eggs to be replaced. Never happened. No chefs to make the omelets. Food overall was good, but the lack of buffet replacment was not worth paying $31.95.

If you wanna experience the best Japanese-culinary-meet-local-food experience in the area, SOL is the place you must try. As a Japanese myself, I rarely encounter a good mix of Japanese food & other cultural food (usually it's either too Japaneseized and miss all the authenticity OR they just serve sushi..),BUT Chef Hayato make it happen!!Here are my recommendations. Start with Tartare, and pick those below….;No.1 : Honey walnut shrimpcrispy shrimp mixed with special honey mayo sauce and sprinkle of walnut. You can’t stop eating them once you startNo.2: Beef Spare RibI don’t know how many hours it takes to make the rib so soft and tender… it’s just melts in your mouth but still leave some part to enjoy chewing, which releases the flavor of mixed sauce of beef juice & gochujung.No.3: Pork risottoPulled pork meets creamy risotto made with Dashi (Japanese stock which adds deeper layer of flavor). Pork itself is so super tender. Not only the food but also Juan, the waiter take the experience whole different level with his friendliness and kindness and his knowledge about alcohol. This is a store that Japanese locals and tourists who are tired of American food should definitely stop by! Honestly, it's more reasonable, delicious, and a wonderful experience than eating at Pier. I'll be sure to stop by next time I'm in LA!

On our travel day we decided to stay close to our hotel and tried Sol which is in the hotel. Not only was our server Juan welcoming and able to handle a walk in party of the 8 of us but his service and recommendations were perfect! We even got to meet the man behind the culinary magic Hayato who created all our wonderful food. Our group ordered around the menu and the beef short ribs, honey walnut shrimp and seafood tacos were all amazing! Looking forward to going back on our last night in town! Thanks for an incredible experience!
