Solid collection of sandwiches - one of the tastiest in the area. I've tried the tuna and beach blanket - both were epic. If you like fresh bread with quality ingredients look no further. They also bring in cheeses like brie and other mixes to make tasty twists on your normal sandwiches. The cooks and counter attendants are polite and cool to talk with. You can eat outside at the tables, enjoying some fresh beach breezes and people watching. Parking can be tougher, but it's easy to find something within a block.

We go here often as we just moved to the neighborhood. It's a bit over priced for the size, but I am happy to pay a little extra for their consistently friendly staff and fresh sandwiches. BLT on the sesame bun is our go to!

We're local and have been to Swell Deli a handful of times in the last few years, but our most recent visit was pretty disappointing. We experienced similar bread issues to other reviewers: hard, dry, and honestly a bit stale tasting. My husband ordered the Beach Blanket and he said that it tasted flavorless and downright bad - it even left him feeling a little queasy afterwards. I asked for the Marv warmed up which I was hoping would be a tuna melt equivalent. Turns out it's just toasted bread (even more hard/dry) and the rest of the sandwich was still cold. And to top it all off, it was almost $60 for three of us including my son. So all the way around, not the best experience and we probably won't go back.

Cute deli and the food was good. A bit overpriced but I get that rent is high a few blocks from the beach. Thing is.. I can't roll with a cashless deli. I'm more understanding of coffee shops and the like, but I want the ability to pay cash for an actual lunch. I might be in the minority on this, but I am definitely not alone. Sadly, I won't be back. Hopefully California will make this practice illegal at some point. If cash is legal tender, then these places should be taking it.

I've been meaning to stop by this place after a few of my friends told me to try the sandwiches. I cannot put into words how high quality and flavorful the food is. I would definitely recommend this place to anybody who enjoys a high quality premium sandwich. Customer service was exceptional as Amber was super kind and helpful!

Probably 4.5 stars, but rounding up... Let's talk bread. It seems there has been a bread issue for other Yelpers, but I thought the "bread game" was strong on my visit and was probably why I liked the sando so much. To quote a Steel Pulse song (iconic reggae band), "Open sesame, her comes (replace Rastaman with...) hungryman!" YES, the sesame roll was EXCELLENT! I hope I don't fail a drug test soon. Oh wait, that's poppy seed not sesame seed. Anyhow... I thoroughly enjoyed my turkey sandwich on a FRESH sesame roll. The sandwich was about 11.5" in length and it's girth was medium, not fat/super fat. Okay, let's not be weird about sando size... On my visit, I went easy and ordered The Ivan - a turkey and swiss with basic ingredients (admittedly, I was sharing with my wife and she doesn't do raw onions, garlic, etc. like I do.) $14 Mmm, so good. Sometimes it's okay to reel it in and avoid Guy Fieri's "Flavortown!" Yeah sorry, no Donkey Sauce® to be found at Swell Deli. My sando-eating compadres all seemed happy with their choices too. Next time I'm giving the Beach Blanket sandwich a try, it sounds delicious (go look it up.) @Swell Deli management, I'm concerned about other's reviews. Did I get lucky? Did you read reviews and adjust? I hope my next visit isn't a 2-star, stale bread, thin slice meat kinda day. 4.75 for now, see ya next time!

Solid sandwich. Friendly service. Great location near the beach. I got the Goodfella Italian sandwich. A bit pricey but the sandwich is MASSIVE. Easily two full meals or get one to share.

Clean place, nice location. Sandwiches have the potential to be great. The have some unique and interesting sandwiches on their menu. Their veggies seem pretty fresh and the seeded roll is amazing. The problem they have is that they don't give very good portions for meat. The ration of meat to veggies to bread is way off. The potential is there.

Not sure what's going on here but the prices are up near 20 bucks (with tax) on many of the sandwiches and the bread has been stale and disgusting the last few visits. They really need to sort out what's going on with their bread supplier or I'll probably stop ordering from them. The value is just no longer there...Very disappointing!

Love this new deli! I pass this deli every night walking my dog and I've been wanting to try it. I ordered the Bushwood and it was delicious. I'll definitely be coming back for more soon.

So this used to be my favorite sandwich in the South Bay until very recently. Whoever changed their bread made an awful decision because it was the absolute best and now it is so rubbery and unappealing. Bring back the old bread please!

No exaggeration. This was the BEST sandwich/ sub I've ever had in the history of my memory. Last day in Cali Decided to pick up lunch before heading to the airport. Added a stop to my Uber ride. I was able to order online on my way there. Convenient. Once there, I noticed it was in a busy area full of other restaurants. Making a mental note to look up the area for future dining. Looked like a nice area to walk around near Redondo Beach. When I arrived, I was greeted with a smile. The guy behind the counter asked me how my day was. And had my bag of deliciousness ready to go. Once on the airplane, I decided I'd go ahead and eat before all the people around me arrived. I had to force myself to stop eating to get a quick pic. It was so so good. Flavorful. Savory meats. The relish like sauce made the sandwich. The bread was fresh and not flaking all over the place. Plenty of veggies. I didn't even bother opening the chips. I was fully committed to every bite. I can usually only eat half and I save the other. I ate the entire thing in what seemed like the fastest 5 minutes. I wanted this flavor experience to last forever. Yes! I am talking about this sub. I think this will be the sub I compare all future subs to, that will never come close to being as delicious. My son and I both ordered THE GOODFELLAS One, we love the movie, Classic. And two, we love Italian subs. I imagine no matter what you order, it's going to be the best sub you've ever had. Shop inside was clean and pretty. Bright and inviting. Smelled great. Great service! Quick service! I totally recommend!! 50 stars! I'll be back in August, and I will definitely be stopping by again. You've got to try this place!!
