Delicious sushi. Cute date night spot. It’s also a family-run business, so even more fun to support!

Update. Still a great sushi place which has rocketed to the top of my list for sushi restaurants. The tatakis are great...that sauce...!Great little place! Just opened where S'Bastians used to be. Check it out!

Low quality fish cuts - below my sashimi standards. We had the Kaisen omakase. Price was $99+ tax. The crab soup tasted like water with artificial flavors. The toro was too fatty that I couldn’t eat it. They also gave me a very terrible cut of fish along with the fish skin.Service was ok but not as good as any other omakase place.I have had $99 dollar Kaiden omakase in another restaurant, Hana Izumi. The food and service there were way better than this restaurant.

A top marks sushi place. Not too crowded, very intentional selection. I encourage you to try the nigiri, and the karage and carpacio were also excellent. I had an absolutely wonderful time.

The amazing thing was the super fresh, raw tuna. I haven't eaten something so delicious in a long time. Also very child-friendly, service was unnaturally attentive, a bit annoying. The plates would be snatched away from us immediately after the last bite... and given back immediately after a sip of water... This made us a little uneasy.

Excellent sushi, good service and pleasant atmosphere. Wait times can be a little long if they are busy.

Great environment, great sushi, great service. We got the baked salmon, Redwood City roll and the nigiri sampler and it was all delicious.

Wonderful dinner for 4, food and service was above par. The skipjack carpaccio was outstanding and the hotate was delicious. It's a tad on the pricey side but we will def be back.

It's a hole in the wall spot, but worth the search! Super cute inside and the ambiance was cozy and warm. Our server was very nice when taking our order and didn't bother us too much. Great service. The food. Wow. Some of the best sushi I've had in a long time! The rice was so soft and everything was put together with lots of care and came out so well. The uni had a bit too much wasabi for my preference but it was super fresh! Our server told us the Uni came in that morning which persuaded us to order it. So creamy and delicious! The 49ers roll and baked salmon were so so delicious, each bite had us in awe. Overall, this spot is a 10/10 and we would definitely come back. Already referred my friend to go there!

This is kind of a hole-in-the-wall small business vibes shop, but the food is AMAZING. I love sushi and I've tried quite a few sushi places, but this place has tHE FRESHEST salmon I've ever had. The sake toro nigiri literally blew my mind, worth it even if it's $10 for 2 pieces. The rolls are pretty averagely priced, around $17-21 per, but you get an adequate serving, and again it's super fresh. We also tried the sake poki - interesting concept. Tasty, but a little too salty in my opinion. Nothing that adding some water to the sauce can't fix. Despite this, still 5 stars since the freshness of the fish literally amazes me. There's not a lot of parking but a handful of spots right in front, and it was not full when we arrived around 6pm.

I have grown up with exposure to sushi from a young age. What's important is the quality of the fish and the selection. Akami has gone above and beyond in every feature as well as impeccable customer service. The chef puts thought and care into every dish I've eaten. I value being able to come back to a place I enjoy - rather than just being there to eat. I enjoy the creation process for each plate. I highly encourage both novice and and advanced sushi eaters to make this a part of their sushi restaurant portfolio.
