I like to eat here with my wife

badge required for entry at cafe 500, unlike 300 which is the largest of Oracle's cafes. All of them are closed weekends and evenings.

I worked there, it was the best place I could be at work! No other company can top Oracle, huh no wonder why everyone follow us right? Here fetch this bone. |

Solid place for lunch, but limited to Oracle employees only. You have to badge in to get past the lobby in building 500. The dishes aren't made to order they're actually pre made already so it's quick. They have a nice selection of salads both main salads and side salads. They have a teriyaki salmon salad that I get when I'm trying to eat relatively healthy on campus. I also enjoy their cauliflower side salad which I could order a large of and eat alone. The other cafés serve Starbucks I believe they serve Peet's here. If you're too lazy to walk to 300 they also have some of the dessert selection from the bakery including cakes and pies. If you're in a rush this is a good spot for lunch!

I eat here a few times a week. The salad bar is amazing -- the best selection of veggies I've ever seen. Organic, locally grown and fresh. It's not your typical iceberg lettuce, shredded carrots and canned olive set up. I usually find so much stuff that I want that it's hard to put the to-go lid on the container without it popping off. They've got some great sandwiches, yogurt parfaits and paninis. Soups are great, too and ocassionally I'll start the day with a hot mocha here instead of Starbucks -- those are pretty good, too.

All cafes are opened to the public except for the one in the 500 building. You need to be an employee w/ a badge to get in. I've been here a while. I'm over the food. The bakery is good though and love that you can pre-order for the holidays.

I spend at least a couple days a month in the south bay working. One of the great things about that is the opportunity to check out new lunch spots. I did a recent search and found Bon Appetit 500 Cafe. Located on the floor level of one of the Oracle buildings (500 Oracle), it was relatively easy to find, but parking may be a hassle if you're driving, but you can always park somewhere along the walking trail out front and hoof it. This is actually a good idea because the portions can be hefty if you eat one of the hot dishes. The cafe is split into different ethnic cuisines (mostly Asian). I had the vegetarian hot plate at the Indian counter, but there were also Chinese and Japanese dishes available, too. For those who don't like Asian food, they offer pre-wrapped sandwiches, and other familiar items one would find in most cafeterias. The place is clean, very affordable, and they give you the option to dine in (real plates and utensils) as well as carry out. The best part is many of their menu items contain local farm products. I have heard Bon Appetit's cafes are trying to make this a main selling point, and it was definitely one of the hooks that got me. Furthermore, they inform you from where the food is sourced on a chalk board near the entrance of the cafeteria. Nice touch. I could go on, but I won't because I'm not getting paid for this. Go check it out for yourself.

Denied! No Oracle employee pass, no food. :( Even with a security badge from a local Redwood Shores office complex, we were turned away. Poo!

Yum! I was pretty busy the other day and my co-worker recommended grabbing a quick sandwich downstairs. I ordered the Tuna salad croque madame for $6.50. The sandwich featured a tuna salad with vegetables and a poached egg. The sourdough bread was lightly toasted with some light butter as well. The croque madame also came with a light salad with a light vinaigrette dressing! Delicous! :D Good thing this place is just an elevator away! :D

Being an ex Oracle Employee I do agree about how cool this place is. Building 500 is the only building that is locked out. Yes its the Larry Ellison Building so you can understand why? I really miss the NY Steaks and potatoes for only 6.00 or the bento box. I also liked the pies during holidays or the dinners prep order to go at night. I starting to cry - can bare WOW There are things in Oracle I miss!!!

I, too, would like to point out that you don't necessarily have to be an Oracle employee to enjoy the glory that is their cafeteria(s). If you're venturing over from a nearby Redwood Shores office and happen to be sporting one of the various security badges, that is probably sufficient to blend in with the crowd long enough to have lunch. The pastries are to die for - and cheap! There is a large selection of food (which I'm sure is far less impressive to people who eat it every day) but it's pretty good and a safe bet if you're trying to score a quick lunch on a budget without getting on the freeway.

I cannot tell you enough HOW COOL THIS PLACE IS !!!!!! I work near by and I went with an ex-Oracle employee, and guess what?? You really do not need to work there to eat there !!!!! I am not saying that you might be stopped, but for people who work nearby and have badges you wear you blend right in. Anyway - the point is that this food ROCKS THE HOUSE DOWN !! They have a full patissere that beats out The Sofitel hands down!! They have custom grilled meats, a huge salad bar - and that is just in the main one! Head over to the Indian and Mexican grill for some great grub, they also have a full diner style grill and a japanese place!! Seriously..........its the bomb. I always spend $8-10 on pastries and then another $8 on lunch and a drink. And that's the other thing - the prices are insanely cheap compared to other local eateries. Check it !!

This EXCLUSIVE cafe tucked away in Oracle's headquarters can only be accessed by Oracle employees and their guests. Yes, I'm being facetious. Yes, I wanted to actually have a "First" review on my Yelp resume. Yes, I'm shameless. Food: 4 stars. Out of the 8 cafes at Oracle, this is the only one that serves contemporary fare using fresh ingredients purchased from local food vendors within a 15-mile radius - and the only one that requires security access. The food is actually quite good, especially the paninis and daily specials. Don't get the breakfast eggs, though - I've never seen them use real eggs. Service: 3 stars. Manager Kelly and head of staff Lourdes are always nice and attentive. The cashier sometimes gives you the wrong change, but it's not a big deal. Atmosphere: 2 stars. It's smaller than most of the other cafes at Oracle, but conveniently located 7 floors down from my office. Hits: Paninis, cafe specials Misses: Scrambled eggs, no Larry Ellison sightings, ever. If You Like This Place, You'd Probably Like: Buckhorn, Asqew Grill, Pluto's
