We had a phenomenal waiter. I asked about gluten free options since the menu was not marked, and he took me through the menu to explain what could and could not be safely prepared without cross contamination. Unfortunately, not many safe options! There are very few gluten-containing items, but they spoil most of the menu for me due to a shared fryer - so no homemade tortilla chips for me! The cocktails were great, the atmosphere was very pleasant, and the staff were friendly. I just wish they would modify kitchen practices to be more celiac friendly.Dietary restrictions: Minimal truly gluten free items due to cross contamination

Celebrating a girlfriend's birthday lunch. The place was almost empty when we arrived. Our reservation wasn't needed. It seems to be more of a dinner & drink spot. The service was good, the food was delicious and beautiful, and the drinks were good (our drink choices were cocktails and ice tea). Highly recommend.

Sever was completely overwhelmed by serving the majority of the restaurant. He also over corrected our 3 year old son by asking him to say please - which was inappropriate in general but especially inappropriate given our son is 3 and still learning manners.

I've been here three of four times. Happy hour was my favorite. LV Mar is one of my favorite restaurants in the area. I recommend the Ceviche and

LV Mar never fails to be a good time. All the bartenders are excellent and make wonderful drinks. The menu is fun and has a lot of variety for all sorts of dietary needs. There is lots of parking in the Marshall Street lot right next door. We are repeat customers and plan to continue repeating!

LV Mar Tapas & Cocktails is the sister restaurant to La Viga Seafood & Cocina Mexicana in Redwood City. A place I thoroughly enjoyed! Da wahine had some sort of voucher that was expiring soon, so we figured we would use it before it expires. The voucher was one of those mystery envelopes that you had to open at the restaurant and gave you a complementary surprise. Ours was a free drink...Cheers! #Adulting ~ Mezcal Verde Espadin - 4/5 A very refreshing Margarita made with Mezcal. Reminded me of those lovely craft drinks in Cabo...brilliant! #Dinner: ~ CEVICHE MIXTO - 4/5 At first bite this didn't taste like a traditional Ceviche. It had pieces of fruit it in it; sweet oranges to be precise! We thought the dish was odd. Then we started eating it with the fried plantains that surrounded the Ceviche...bingo! The flavor infusion worked perfectly! There was a reason the Plantains accompanied the Ceviche...duh! In the end it all works well. ~ QUESABIRRIA - 4/5 I liked the presentation. At first it didn't look like much, but the Quesabirria was packed with a decent amount of meat. Tasty and heartier than it looked ~ COSTILLAS DE CERDO EN COLORADITO - 4/5 They had me at pork ribs... it just sounded tasty when I read the description on the menu; "pork ribs braised in red tomato & achiote sauce, potatoes, chayotes, tomatillo. served with blue corn tortillas." I'm still not sure what "achiote sauce" is... All I can say is Tasty Red Sauce with tender pieces of meat and potatoes = deliciousness!! We made tacos with the Blue Corn Tortillas. A very satisfying meal!

Great service and food! We really enjoyed the fish tacos here, fresh ceviche, and empanadas. Our waiter was very attentive and the food was very quick to come out after ordering. Great drinks to wait for in the meantime. The food is a bit on the pricier end (in addition to drinks), but nothing unexpected from a usual Tapas place in the bay area.

Great food and service. Waiter and manager were very hospitable. Waiter made great recommendations for food. Unfortunately the toilets were very dirty. Otherwise would have given 5 stars

I came here for brunch today and it was GREAT.I didn't take pictures, but I had the chilaquiles de birria for the main course. It was so good and I look forward to trying the verde ones in the future. For brunch they serve their regular drink menu but also have a couple of cocktails and unlimited mimosas, if that's your kind of thing. For dessert, they had a limited coffee flan and I was delightful. A perfect end to a great meal. It's new years Eve so I'm not sure how busy they are usually, but it was fairly empty today which I always like. Will definitely be coming back!!

Its ok. Some dishes, like the potato dumpling dish, had no flavor. The brussel sprouts were good, but the dumplings tasted bland. The drinks were great.

The were very accommodating for our large party with small children. The food came out quick and the service was good. Maybe a better wine selection would help but that's the only negative comment I have!
