Was excited to finally try this place but ended up pretty disappointed. Ordered a full rack, half a smoked chicken and half a loaf of corn bread. All three were dry and largely flavorless. BBQ sauces were pretty good, but kind of doesn't matter if the meat isn't done well. Probably didn't help that they messed up my order. Really wanted to like this joint but I just can not recommend it to anyone who wants good BBQ.

Overall, I would visit this place again. I thought the BBQ was good . The restaurant was clean and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Some of the sides could be improved, however. For example, the cole slaw and beans were not traditional style and so I was a bit disappointed in that.

I'm a complete s***** for hot links and these guys easily have some of the best. When I need a BBQ fix, I drive from the coast to get the goods here. I've tried almost everything on the menu and all of it has been good to very good. The soft serve is good too, when the machine is working. Soft serve used to be a common thing but it has become much harder to find in recent years.

This is my spot when it comes to barbecue in the Bay Area. I don't know if I just don't eat a lot of barbecue (always up for suggestions) but I have to say that their brisket & ribs are top tier. I really enjoy their mac & cheese as well. The cornbread is dry and the beans are watery but that's not what you come here for! Lol XD Definitely stick to the meat or try out a sandwich if you're feeling like some barbecue and you're in the area.

Sides and cornbread were decent. Meat was disappointing. Brisket was very dry. Ribs were also very dry.

I was looking for a BBQ restaurant to try for lunch for our family. Redwood City BBQ came up, so we tried it. I ordered the #5 Family pack and a side of Brisket and Farm's salad. Our family really enjoyed it (I did too)! All of the meat was very tasty and tender (ribs, tri-tip, chicken and brisket). The sides were very good too (potato salad, mac & cheese, cabbage salad and Farmer's salad). The bread used for the garlic bread could be improved. The BBQ sauce was very good too! The entire meal was delicious! Our family enjoyed it too! We will be back to try the other meats and sides. As well as the soft serve ice cream when the machine is working. I'd also like to try the breakfast taco's! I would recommend this restaurant. It's in the building where the Dairy Queen was for years on Woodside Road.

I treated myself to the brisket plate To Go. I Arrived home to uncover the fattiest piece of brisket, soggy 'Garlic' bread which did not taste like garlic and sides placed in very small styrofoam containers. No Thank-you! Not worth the price I paid for the meal plus tip.

Good BBQ is hard to come by in the Bay Area and Redwood City BBQ provides some relief with hits & misses. The menu is a little pricier for the quantity, quality, and casual ambiance offered here. We ordered several items for pick here and decided to eat at the restaurant. The online ordering system works well and the food was ready on-time. The brisket was cooked to medium-well and was nice with the BBQ sauce. The BBQ sauce airs on the spicier side here which I really liked. I found the pull pork overly fatty though this can sometimes be the nature of this dish. I love a good cornbread, but the cornbread slice here was a bit bland, unsweetened and just didn't do much for me. Adding some of the honey did help. Sometimes classics like the mac n cheese are best left to their original recipes, I found the mac n cheese infused with another flavor which didn't make it appealing. The outdoor picnic style benches are fun and a good spot to meet with family/friends. There is a decent selection of beers/ciders here. The restaurant was missing a sweet tea (non-bottled version), a classic pairing for BBQ. Parking can be challenging here.

Another bbq spot that is average. Upon arriving I was looking at the smoker in back which was impressive. I ordered the combo of tri-tip and brisket along with coleslaw and mac n cheese. The sides were tasteless. Honestly was trying to find flavor but it was all bland. The tri-tip was over cooked to med well and the brisket was on the slightly dry side and was the flat of the brisker. Many bbq joints in Texas, Kansas City and in the bbq belt will let you pick "lean or fatty" and I love the point of the brisket also used for burnt ends. The toast was totally bland and is nothing compared to real Texas toast or thick white bread. This is definitely not anything near the level I was expecting however being a pit master running my own smokers and getting incredible smoke flavor, I am sure my expectation are much higher than those who really have never experienced incredible bbq. The smoke and flavor just wasn't present here in the meat. Having recently been in Texas, Missouri, Kansas and Mississippi, the bbq here was lacking for ms. 3 stars.

A cool little spot Ive been eyeing on Woodside Road. Nice casual dining ambience. We finally tried it last night and its a mixed review: The boyfriend had a tri- tip sandwich. Yum! Meat was nicely smoked, generous portion (he got size Large by the way) and we both liked the spicy peppery BBQ suauce. The bread was good though maybe not what we expected on the sandwich - a doughy garlic bread. I got the 'little portion' of ribs, and baked beans on the side. The ribs were not good. They were dry, very chewy and tasted a little burnt. Not smoked but burnt. I chewed at one rib and then gave up. I saw other Yelpers posting ribs that looked WAY different and better, if I had dine-in then I would have returned them to kitchen :/ Baked beans were pretty good, not outstanding. FYI they are not vegetarian there were a lot of meat bits. I'm appreciative of a local BBQ in the area, I would be willing to give them another try. Maybe something other than ribs next time :P

Definitely a hidden gem for sure. Came across this place on a total fluke. I had a brisket sandwich and fries. The meat was cooked to perfection and the fries were delicious. Portion and price is spot on. Definitely will be going again and highly recommend this place.

We had a hankering for BBQ and decided to give this place a go. When we went, it was later in the evening and so it was not too busy. We decided to take our order to go. We ended up ordering: - Tri-tip - Smoked Chicken - Garden Salad w/ Raspberry Vinaigrette - Coleslaw - Potato Salad - Corn Bread We wanted to also try their brisket but they were out of it for the day. Service was quick and easy. The prices came out to just over $90, which was understandable since the price of food has seriously increased over the past couple of months. The food was still warm upon arrival to our home and the portions were reasonable. The smoked chicken was ok, and the tri-tip was decent. As for the side dishes, they were as expected, not bad but also nothing truly stood out. Overalll, this was a decent meal but I feel it was lacking some flavor/seasoning. We may go back to try the other items just to make sure this was not an off night. We want to support local business as much as possible, but also want to be fair with our review.

Any time anyone comes to visit I always take them here! Me and my family love this place and I couldn't recommend it enough. The food is just as fantastic as the service. Everyone's always so warm and friendly and I always enjoy any meal that comes from Redwood City BBQ.

Prefacing this with the fact that we got a to-go order. Service was very quick, staff was super friendly - 5 stars there! Onto the food. My headline on this food would be "just ok". I thought the pork ribs were really good, they were "falling off the bone" tender and juicy, with excellent flavor. The tri tip and brisket were meh. Neither was dry or anything, I will say they were both cooked well. However, I felt the tri tip was a little fattier than I'm used to tri tip being and neither had much flavor. The sides were also a miss for me. The baked beans had an odd flavor (maybe too smoky?), the potato salad was good, but akin to what I'd get at a grocery store, and the mac & cheese was pretty bland as was the corn bread. The corn bread had a kind of spongy texture instead of crumbly like I'd have expected. No amount of butter was saving that. I'm not a huge fan of BBQ to begin with, but good BBQ is GOOD, and this didn't do it for me. I really loved smoking pig and I'm super sad they closed. Was hoping this would be a good replacement, but this food didn't do it for me.
