I moved to the Bay Area about 2 years ago and found it difficult to find a really good restaurant like Yat Sing. After moving to Woodside about 1 year ago, my husband and I finally decided to give it a try and the food was amazing! Since then we have noticed the food quality started to decline but not enough to write a review nor stop going there but this evening I have had enough! First the price charged on 16Jan2024, was different than the price on the menu which I was told would be fixed last year. When I inquired about the price difference, the lady at the front desk simply said “that’s the price, we are printing new menus”. Since I have been a customer since last year, that seems like a long time to not have menus correctly reflect the pricing and gives me the feeling that they charge what they feel like as I have no transparency in advance and this has been an issue since last year. I understand things are changing and prices may be updated more frequently in today’s world but they need to offer digital menus instead and print only a few for customers that are not digital savvy. Anyway, I ordered take out that included a vegetarian egg rolls and shrimp noodle soup which cost $25.82. The vegetarian egg roll was greasy and uneditable! When I looked at the container to see why grease was dripping down my fingers I was surprised to see the egg roll was literally swimming in grease (see attached picture). I also ordered the shrimp noodle soup which was flavorless and had about 5 shrimp in total. My total cost for these two items was $25.82 and not worth the price at all. I will not return. Not sure if they have changed chefs but they need to go back to their original quality of food which has been lacking for months. And they need to address the price transparency issues mentioned earlier. I wish them well but won’t be back.

First and last time I come, I ordered roast duck and it was very dry and salty, the soup was not given to me in a large bowl but divided into 2 small bowls and at the time of paying they charged me more for the price of the duck.Be careful because apart from the fact that they charge more, they get a tip without you giving it, today I saw it in my CT.

Yat Sing is your perfect Chinese restaurant in the neighborhood. It's great for takeout and dine in. You'll want to go back often and they will get to know you and welcome you again and again. The food is very good with a wide selection and quick service. Make it your next choice for Chinese.

Nice quiet place to have a good meal. Prices are reasonable, and they made chicken and garlic sauce exactly like I asked for it. Not everyone will do that!

Pretty mid menu and not much food for $15. Debatable cleanliness (flies, sticky table), but good service, and it's a vibe: it's of traditional cheap Hong Kong/Canto decor and smell and food. But spread out in the big American space lol so to put it nicely, it's a vibe lolThe wontons are also on the fatty tasting side, which is not my preference

I never leave reviews but my experience was borderline too comically awful not to leave one. I ordered food for two (potstickers, egg roles, and two entrees), and when checking out the person rushing me to take my order said $30.30. I’m a college student so that made perfect sense to me, but when I went to pay, the card reader displayed $60.60 and I was only allowed to see the itemized receipt after asking explicitly for it and wasn’t allowed to keep it. Anyway, I’m surprised but decide to order anyway. While I’m waiting, some poor old woman walks in and orders soup and egg roles, and upon being quoted $30 for the two items, apologizes and walks out because it’s simply way overpriced. Regardless of the price though, the food is pretty awful (my college town chinese for literally a quarter of the price is 10x better on all fronts). Both of us could taste some weird sour / bitterness in our entrees likely because they seemed to be the exact same barring the meat and a couple of peanuts despite being completely different dishes. TL;DR: food is super overpriced and altogether pretty bad. Their markup is the only way they’re still in business.

We enjoy their egg rolls and went for dinner. Everything except one dish tasted like it was reheated. Service was poor. Grumpy atmosphere. I will not return.
