The food great as normal. What stands out is the service. Thursday night Katie was very attentive she even laughed at my attempt at being a Karen. See you the next time

My rating is solely based on my experience before a visit. I was looking for a place to celebrate my 38th anniversary with my wife. Atmosphere and food quality were the reason I had chosen between Cool Hand Luke's and another steakhouse in Modesto. I was leaning towards Luke's because my previous experiences told me it was the more conducive choice for our anniversary. Then I looked at their online menu and became disturbed and confused as to why they would not disclose prices??? After 38 years of marriage I assure you price was not the reason I DIDN'T choose Luke's and my experience told me Luke's was the least expensive choice of the two. My reason was just the idea they had the gall to assume I would show up without an advertised price available for the menu offerings they had listed on the online menu. Was the unpriced menu I received upon arrival going to be unpriced too???I have been a senior manager with a $750,000,000.00 (3/4 a billion) company for 6 years and I promise you that you will have no success in selling items you will not publicly disclose pricing on.

The food here is not impressive for how much it cost. The sourdough rolls were hard & stale. The steak and prime rib were both good, but expensive for their size. The horseradish dip for the prime rib wasn't very spicy and had a bad taste, almost like it was starting to go bad. My side of artichoke alfredo also had a bad taste to it as well. The service was great, but when you spend over $100 on dinner for 2 and come away not being impressed with the food, it really isn't a place I can recommend.

Gave it one more shot. In the past the service has been really bad. Not due to server but not enough of them to go around and having way to many tables. Tonight gave it one last shot before the movies. Server was great you could tell she was very busy and almost running around to keep up. Food was horrible!! The steak was over seasoned with garlic and the steak just seems normal not a premium cut you would find at a steak house. Had the soup of the day chicken pot pie. It literally had one piece of chicken and every spoon full was onion. Baked potatoes was the highlight. Used the bathroom and well let's just say I have been into old Bars with nicer ones. Price was more expensive than Texas Road House. We will not be returning. So long Luke you are no longer COOL.

Steak was tough, and a very small portion. I asked the waitress for a magnifying glass. The baked potato was very good. Campfire beans, but no bowls or spoons! The watress said the saucer was to be used. I asked what about a spoon? She responded, " The spoon was given it's in the Campfire Beans cauldron. (By the way the Cauldron was small with a seving for like one person). One serving spoon for three people!. That a spoon was a request item" So i requested 3 spoons. Bar drinks a little overpriced. I won't return.

Went last night and was looking forward to our usual order, their Steak n bake for $16.99. Everything took so long, soup chicken pot pie was very good, one of the four in the group had salad, it arrived in a hot bowl?. Finally, our steaks came out, all four ordered med rare, but all came out very rare which would have been find but was pretty much cold as was the baked potato. Usually the potato is piping hot, but not last night it was pretty much cool to the touch. Decided to just take it home and heat it up later. Then we waited and waited to the birthday bread pudding, which was supposed to be gratis, but was added to our tag. Waitress was finally able to take that off the tag. Don't know if they were short staff or what was going on. Everything tasted good, just was cold.

We come here for happy hour, cheap $5 drinks and you can get 2 tacos for only $5, sliders and fries only/$6, a full steak dinner with sides for only $15!! You can't beat the prices and the food is good. It has an old west cowboy theme which is fun. It's pretty quiet except when there's football games going on, then it can get rowdy at the bar .

Food is good but for a steakhouse, they are out of prime rib alot. Took my mom for her birthday and she was excited for prime rib. I called ahead to make sure they had some and they said they did when we got there an hour later they said that they had run out she was very disappointed.
