Five star to the hostesses, Jackie & Alexia! They were professional, taking care of calls and business, all the while being so kind & attentive to our young boys (under 4) at our table near the front. While our kids could have been a distraction, they made them feel seen & important. It was cute (and funny) to watch! Also, in general, this is just one of our favorite Mexican Restaurants - great food & drinks and love the fit menu options!

Today very bad service , no one even said welcome or spoke to us . After sitting we were there at least 15 minutes without so much as a hello . Not one person asked us if we wanted anything not even water . We had very bad service today .Work lunches are time related and I was not thrilled with the poor service today .

Well sad to say it's true. You now have to pay for your basket of chips and salsa to be refilled. $3.00 for chips and $1.50 for salsa. End of an era. Food is consistently good but portions have decreased as prices have increased. Sad indeed TIP: just go to el ranchito

It's ridiculous they stopped serving the bean dip with the chips and salsa. I think they could afford it, especially with the food increase they impose.

Food was definitely one of the best in Modesto area compare to other Mexican restaurants. Service was ok too. Prices pretty reasonable and bathrooms were kind of ok.

Keto bowl. Ask for the Chef's Bowl with chicken is great. My go to for protein.

Service was great , we were seated quickly. Big portions, reasonable prices, and the food was good.

Started with warmed chips and salsa. Followed by a Mexican mule. It was refreshing and tasty. I dined alone but with the action at the table next to me and the basketball game on there was plenty of entertainment while I waited for dinner. The table started with just a couple but I could tell they were either brother and sister but more likely "just friends". Mr. Cool, her boyfriend, eventually showed up. Loud and over-confident again just a free show for me while I munched on chips waiting for the shrimp dish. I overheard that table asking for more chips and salsa and the waitress informed them they started charging. Tricky. I heard about the extra charge as I was just going to ask for more myself. But hold up, my food is coming. Thank goodness I didn't order more chips. I can't believe I almost finished them. Ok to the food, the shrimp Diablo was tangy at first but the more I ate the hotter my tongue became. Lol. I liked the heat and I was totally full. Tasty but too many chips. Thinking about that meal wants me to go back for more. I'd go to the one by my house at McHenry village, I happened to be in oakdale so that's why I visited the Riverbank location.

I've been coming here since they were opened in the original store on Oakdale road. All I can say is service is TERRIBLE you have to remind your server multiple times for things the kitchen clearly can't read a ticket.... Multiple items messed up throughout our meal and we had to flag down our server. It's really sad when you come in for a birthday dinner SPEND OVER 100$ for messed up food and horrible service. This place has gone down hill and I've been a customer for years. It's also very sad this is a family business... where is the owner why aren't you stepping in and prioritizing service and quality of your food it's not just at this location it's all of your locations ??

Food is not like it use to be. I order grilled chicken breast for all my food and they literally put gross chopped up meat that didn’t look or taste like chicken breast and it was marinated. Order 3 meals and got 2 bags of chips and 2 small half filled 3oz cups of salsa. To expensive for what you get. I’ll stick to El Rosal because they are the best on coffee Rd and you don’t feel gypped!

Long wait times and now charging chips and salsa after your first basket. As a consumer there are certain pricing elasticities that will cause folks to walk or find alternatives. For me, chips and salsa are synonymous with Mexican dining. I could have tolerated a 5-7% price increase vs. squeezing your consumers on this core staple.

Won't be back! They are now charging 3.00 for any extra baskets of chips and 1.50 for salsa. That's ridiculous.

The food is really good, great flavor. Tried this plate called John’s Special because my dad and brother said it was their favorite. It had the perfect amount of spice. Very fast and friendly service.

You need to read this! I had a taco salad, meat was chicken. 1/3 of the way thru, I bit down on a huge bone then another and then three mouth fulls of gristle. I sent the salad back (waitress was very nice) and referred my return to the woman manager. She took $3.00 off saying I ate most of it. She refused to help take a clearly bad dish off the bill because she said she couldn’t call the owner. Such a lie. I told her we wouldn’t be coming back. She replied ‘Fine with me.’ Wow. With so many eat-out choices for everyone, you would think customer service was important. Not to this woman. I urge all of you to avoid this restaurant- especially if you swallow a bone and choke, she won’t care. This is clearly a bad choice of restaurants.

We will not return to La Parrilla after being customers for many years. They decided to charge us for an extra bowl of salsa when the first one was so small that it took only several chips to finish. There are no signs or information on the menu stating that they changed their salsa policy. Their prices are high which we don't mind paying but should include salsa.
