Found this taqueria on google maps while searching for good Mexican in rural Stockton. It was about a 20 minute drive which is typical to drive to any food location. The tacos here are great, the asada was well grilled and the salad goes perfect with the cilantro and onion. I'm not a big fan of Spanish rice so I thought it was okay. The beans were good but were not my favorite. I have returned since this first visit and have only bought the tacos which have not disappointed so far. It's safe to say I will be returning as often as I can to get some more tacos. I give the tacos a 5/5. The tostada de ceviche was good but it needed more lemon/lime. There's lime in the refrigerator where you can help yourself so I added some to my liking. I give the tostada a 3/5. We also had a giant quesadilla which came with guacamole and sour cream. It was pretty big! The quesadilla gets a 4.5/5. Rated by my boyfriend who actually ate it. Lastly, we had some Mexican sodas: sprite and coke. They also have aguas frescas: hibiscus water, horchata and pineapple. We tried the pineapple one. It was refreshing. 4/5.

I ate at Taqueria San Jose for the first time today. I ordered the super quesadilla with carnitas. I was given complimentary chips. The chips were very chewy and stale like they had been sitting under the heat lamp for quite a long time. I asked for fresh ones and she said they were all the same. I got the feeling that they might have even been yesterdays. My quesadilla came and was tasty, although the presentation could have been better. No folding. Just two small tortillas stuck together with the filling coming out the sides. It was somewhat messy to eat and hard to cut. I probably won't go back.

gave 3 different people the wrong order and gave me the wrong order as well, i waited for 40 minutes for the wrong order to wait for my order as well. i did not like the service.

"Family owned taqueria,good menudo on weekends, carnitas & tacos de lengua are fresh & delicious. Service can be very slow, dining room not the most inviting. Best to take your food to-go; they do a good job here though.

Check the prices they are charging, the prices on the menu are not what they charge you when you pick up and pay for your food . I was charged 14 dollars over and wouldn't of realized it unless I reviewed my receipt . After telling them the issue they said there was nothing they can do but give me more food not my money back .
Taqueria San Jose is the best place in Riverbank to get menudo. The menudo is well seasoned, and the meat is perfectly cooked. Their grilled chicken tacos are scrumptious!!

This is hands down my favorite taqueria in Riverbank! I order from here on the regular and normally get the two tacos plate ore the fajitas plate! They are so yummy and I actually think I'm addicted to their food! The workers always listen to my extra request (extra salsa or no beans), I never have an issue!

Ordered a super carne asada burrito. Barf. Meat was dark and charred, tasted old as if had been sitting out all day. Very strange taste. Rice was flavorless. I threw it away.

Truly thought I was going to love this place. Ordered the carne asada super tacos and a large horchata. Horchata tasted like the ones u get in a packet and put in water. My meal did not come with guacamole which super tacos include sour cream, guacamole, and cheese which disappointed me. Carne asada tasted like it was soaked in lime. Also I found their pico very strange. More liquid in the container than actual vegetables. I was expecting more from this place.
