Went for appetizers during the evening hours of the happy hour specials they offer. They have changed the seating for this time slot. Now you are asked when arriving if you are there for happy hour. If you say yes, there is specific seating. Because we were there to take advantage of the happy hour prices, we were not allowed to sit in the back of the restaurant, but rather the bar area and the seating adjacent to it. This added a longer wait time. This new procedure didn't make sense to me, but I'm sure it is for good reason. It just seems like to me, the equal dispersment of workload would be off, and that of the chance if receiving tips. As most live off the tips they receive. In addition, I witnessed 3 women leaving the establishment with alcohol. One hostess was going to go get it from them, and another hostess stopped her, saying they don't get paid enough, and whatever happens when they leave there is on them. I don't think she thought that through.

From the moment we were seated, Shea’s warm greeting made us feel welcomed and valued. His professionalism and knowledge about the menu were evident as he expertly guided us through the selections, making recommendations that perfectly suited our tastes.Throughout our meal, Shea’s service was impeccable. He maintained the perfect balance of attentiveness without being intrusive, ensuring our drinks were always refreshed, and our table was clear of any unnecessary clutter. His timing in serving each course was flawless, allowing us to fully enjoy our meal at a comfortable pace.What stood out the most was Shea’s genuine kindness and enthusiasm. His positive attitude and dedication to providing excellent service significantly enhanced our dining experience, making our evening at Applebee’s truly memorable.The food was delicious, the atmosphere inviting, but it was Shea’s outstanding service that will bring us back to Applebee’s Riverside. It’s not often you come across someone who not only excels in their role but also clearly enjoys what they do. Stopped by Applebees in Riverside in the downtown area for lunch. I started with a Passion Fruit Mai Tai, which uniquely came with refills in a shaker - quite a treat with several refills. For my meal, I inquired about the server's preference between the Four Cheese Mac & Cheese with Honey Pepper Chicken Tenders and the Whiskey Bacon Burger. Following her recommendation, I chose the Mac & Cheese option. It was decent, indeed sweet as she mentioned, which suited my taste. I value getting insights from servers as they have a pulse on customer feedback. The service was attentive, and paying through the kiosk on the table made for an easy checkout.

I had a Doordash order that was I was deeply disappointed with a few weeks ago so I brought it back to the restaurant. The manager made it right and the re-make was perfect - the food came out amazing. Salmon, fries and broccoli were all cooked perfectly and seasoned well. I will absolutely return for another visit - excellent service!

Went there on Saturday in the mid day. Ordered the combo appetizer & Tipsy Leprechaun. Ordered the 6oz steak medium well with salad and green beans onion rings. The service was quick. The food well prepared and great taste. This place has great setup and would be a place I would visit again????

Man service was horrible lady took forever to serve us and then on top of that took another 10 mins to bring our ranch after we told her twice our food got cold after that and then we ask her to take our money for payment and kept ignoring us worst experience I had
