This is no longer Charlie Rokks BBQ. It has been turned into a Mexican take out place, though Charlie's sign is still up. It's a shame using someone else's reputation to draw patrons to your new establishment. I am sad to hear that Charlie sold the restaurant in 2020. He stood out when he was the owner against the big box BBQ places like Dickies or Texas Roadhouse...

Quality of food is basic bbq sauce is like liquid, the Mac and cheese no effort put in to making, the baked beans taste like they came out of a can, the corn bread was more like a cake the chicken was cooked good though go elsewhere

I ordered tri-tip and brisket with sauce on the side, the meat was tender and seasoned. The bake beans taste like can boiled beans with no seasoning. The potato salad need more mayonnaise and sweet relish. The bbq sauce was okay but I would add hickory smoke flavor. I had no bread with my food.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING SERVICE. FOOD QUALITY. TIME. AND PRICES!!!! This family run business is second to NONE!!! I drive 11 miles each day to have them take care of me. And that's exactly what they do!!!! I can not only recommend this place. I would pay for you to try it, and tell all of your friends. Family and Co-Workers!!!!

Visiting in town. Read reviews. Went with some concerns about quality of sides, Mac&Cheese and Greens. They wouldn't let me taste a spoonful of either. I left with making a purchase.

This place seemed like it had pretty good reviews but after eating there I was surprised at the rating that it was given. I came here with my family on a Sunday. Upon walking in you could tell it was a locally owned restaurant it was small and despite its rundown look I decided to give it the benefit of the doubt. We ordered their smoked chicken and ribs. Some sides that included, Mac n cheese, potato salad, beans and some collard greens. Once we ordered the food took about 20 min to be served. At first glance the food looked like it was very bland. The chicken did not looked smoked but instead it looked like a rotisserie chicken that you would buy at any grocery store. It was not dry and had some flavor but it was not what I expected from a bbq place. The ribs were alright it probably would have been better if they were actually warm. Most of the food that came out was room temperature. The BBQ sauce was ordinary, once again not what I was expecting for a place that markets itself on having authentic Texas BBQ. The Mac and cheese was honestly one of the worst I've had at any restaurant. It had no sort of flavor and it was a watery mess. You could feel the graininess from the powder they used to make it. By far the worst thing there. You're better off buying Kraft Mac n cheese and making it yourself. The potato salad had a very particular taste it wasn't bad but it also tasted like the buckets you buy at the grocery store. Frankly the whole meal tasted like it was bought at your local grocery store. Out of all the sides the collard greens were my favorite although they weren't life changing they were passable. Customer service- 2.5 stars it was okay you could tell that the person there was trying their best which I completely admire. That being said trying your best doesn't always mean having good service. The food took too long to be served and it seemed like it was all being heated up in the microwave. Cleanliness- 2 stars the tables were dirty and the place looked like it hadn't been probably cleaned in a while. The bathroom also didn't have any hand soap. Food- 1 star, if you're looking for a place to eat authentic Texas BBQ this is not the place. The food at best was mediocre. Overall I would not go back, the food, the service and cleanliness did not create an experience that would make anyone want to go back.

If I had known Charley sold this place and his name association almost two years ago (during the 2020 Covid-19 period) I'd probably have stayed away. Unfortunately, it's hard for me to recommend what the establishment has become. Although friendly, I gathered from the business partner that they still use Charley's recipes, and his wife uses the kitchen to make boxed Mexican food for customers to be delivered daily. That explains the posters in the front window. Next, prices are significantly higher now, yes, food costs and fuel are higher, but the QPR assessment becomes more significant. For $15.99 I ordered the familiar combination of Ribs and Tri-tip, with a choice of two sides. From the list I chose Collard Greens and Cajun Rice. I was told it would take between 7 and 10 minutes to come up, so I grabbed a table. The time estimate was about right, roughly 10 minutes. Served in a traditional Styrofoam to-go container, the sides were also in small round versions, it was clear by how hot everything was that it was microwaved. Next, I found the Tri-tip to be pre-sliced, it was before but by hand. Unless the cooks have machine-like precision this is definitely factory pre-fabricated. Unfortunately it tasted overcooked and dry, with a thin vaneer of BBQ sauce, nothing like it used to taste, on top. The two ribs suffered similarly, although hand cut, they weren't cut fresh to order as far as I can tell. The fat and oil congregated under the meats in the container, which is pretty gross. The sides: The Cajun Rice was the best thing, at least that had a kick to it and tasted like the before times. The same cannot be said for the Collard Greens, however. I don't know what happened here, barely any seasons, a lot of loose liquid with no color, and the worst offense was poor preparation, the ends of all stalks weren't even trimmed so they all showed brown and slightly rough edges like you get at the market. Even the cornbread seems a little lackluster now.All things considered, the reputation of the restaurant and execution of the food is awful. Seriously bad overall. I hope they get it together because nothing wrecks a place like alienating regular and semi-regular customers. I fall in the latter category.

Let me begin by saying the service was excellent ? Very kind, friendly, and helpful. The fried catfish was pretty flavorful, tasted nice and fresh too.Found the Mac and cheese ? disappointing. Kinda on the stale side. And it just didn't taste right either. I did not like it.The collard greens were tender and very colorful. But they tasted nothing like the seasoned yummy collards I am accustomed to eating.Good corn bread though. Not great but good enough. Will visit Charley Rokk's again in the near future. I believe it's a work in progress with fantastic potential.

The website says it's open, and closes tonight. It isn't. The lights are off, and the door is locked tight. This was a waste of our time, finding this place online, and traveling over here. The hours were just updated six weeks ago. ??? Someone needs to make another update. I called, and no one answered. In speaking with people in the complex, we were told it is only open every now and again. I am going to save you the disappointment. Call ahead, or pick a different restaurant, altogether. We're heading over to Dickey's.

This was my first time visiting a Charley RoKK's BBQ and the quality of the meats were okay, but the flavor does not even begin to compare to Oklahoma or Texas Barbecue because even though it looked like it had been smoked it was absent of smoke flavor. The baked beans tasted like it came out of Pork & Beans can and the Potatoe salad was A-Okay so I will give a grade of C+ and will not return.

Worst bbq I've ever had! There was burnt ribs with no meat on it and oversauced try tip. Walked in and they had no desserts on the menu at all to try. Thought this might be a good hole in the wall place to try but it turns out to just be a hole in the wall that needs to be filled.
