I'd have loved to try a cupcake or such but never had the chance. I walked in and waited. Nobody around. A guy came from the back, showed me a bell and told me if I needed help to ring it - and left to the back. I stood at the counter, alone, for about ten minutes. Yes, I needed help with my purchase. I glanced around the dirty store and saw some old Valentine (today is 2/28) cakes in a bare cooler. Decided to not ring the bell if this was a representation of their service.

I ordered my cake here for my 40th birthday and I was so disappointed. I had ordered a cake a year prior and it turned out good, but this year for my milestone birthday it was not good at all. I went in at the beginning of September and left my deposit and got busy with a personal matter and couldn't get back into the bakery until 1 1/2 until my party. The man told me that they couldn't do much decoration because of the time frame when I came back and I told him that I didn't like any of the designs they had on Instagram and the designs that I did show him when I first went in for my deposit they couldn't do so took me a while to find some thing that I felt they were going to be able to do. I settled that day with telling him that I wanted an all silver cake with sugar sprinkles on the top. They gave me a cake that is white with very little silver so not what I asked for that day. The man was very rude. Not very understanding whatsoever there is only one baker there, I can't believe they been in business for 25 years one thing everyone should be aware is that when he walk in it's smells really bad like someone died in there. So if toy expect good customer service or what you asked for it won't happen here. Such a bummer to see that's how they do business.

Simply Cakes made our wedding cake and a few birthday cakes. They were professional, friendly and made the most beautiful and yummy cakes ever! They spend time with you and listen to what you want. Their suggestions are right on! Each cake was ready just as promised! I highly recommend Simply Cakes for that special event or any time you want to add beauty and deliciousness to your menu! They also bake the best cookies! Don’t leave without some to take home! You and your family will be glad you did!

My husband passed by to get me some cupcakes before noon since I've been craving something funfetti flavor. He also got strawberry and oreo cupcakes and some cookies. The cookies were okay, I think he got a snickerdoodle and something chocolate coconut. I was very disappointed with the cupcakes. They didn't taste freshly made. They tasted like if they have been refrigeratored for some days. I couldn't taste anything else besides the old fridge flavor.

This is the place you want for anything sweet! This birthday cake was delicious and so awesomely done perfect! I asked for a villain cake and named some of the birthday boy's favorites and left the design to the professionals! They did not disappoint!! This cake was GREAT!!! The service here was exceptional and for such a tiny space in front, the shop is just too cute!!

I was in need of a casino-themed specialty cake last minute for my mom's birthday, so I called on a Monday and provided them a inspo photo via email and they were able to handle the request for that upcoming Saturday morning! The owners were super friendly and helpful when talking with me over the phone to build the type of cake I wanted. The cake came out PERFECTLY as I had hoped and it tasted equally as good! Price is also reasonable for the quality that you get. This is the second specialty cake I've ordered from this bakery and it won't be the last. Highly recommend!

The reviews that are commenting on the owners attitude are true. I have gone there to ask about wedding cakes. His demeanor isn't pleasant . Idk how his cakes taste bc I never went back,but his approach sucks. He needs to hear the truth and maybe make an adjustment. You can have great tasting cakes but if the customer service isn't good, you'll lose business.

I highly recommend Simply Cakes Etc Bakery. Greg and Richard prepared a beautiful 3/4 sheet chocolate cake with chocolate fudge icing for my Dad's Celebration of Life event. Not only was the cake gorgeous to look at, (mad at myself for not taking a photo) it was SO DELICIOUS! Received many compliments from guests. Because my Dad was a veteran, they waived the delivery fee to nearby, Indian Hills Golf Club.
I spoke with Greg twice on the phone to arrange a cake tasting pick up for my friends' wedding. In the first call, he gave me the information I asked for and reprimanded me for not calling months earlier. I thought the lecture was out of line, but I just thanked him and hung up.The next call was to place the $30 order for the 5 cake samples, and I was met with another condescending lecture on how the wedding is coming up soon and I only have a few months to get the cake sorted out. He asked why I didn't call earlier to place the order for the samples, and then spoke defensively about what I saw as miscommunication and lack of clarity about the bakery's process. He interrupted and spoke over me several times while giving his lecture.I'm grateful that my sweet, stressed friends didn't have to interact with Greg. My advice to those looking into ordering from Simply Cakes for an event: Only call, do not email. Do not expect empathy or a quick and pleasant exchange of information if you get Greg on the phone. Check out the negative Yelp reviews (many of them are about Greg's behavior). If you decide not to go with them, I recommend Tasteful Cakes and Layers & Co nearby.My advice to Simply Cakes as a business: Help Greg understand how he is driving away customers, or keep him away from the phone. Their cake cups were the hit of my husband's 75 birthday celebration. Ordered 4 flavors so guests could have a choice, rather than just one flavor of full size cake. The cakes were moist, the filling and frosting sweet but not overly. The customer service is exceptional. Simply Cakes will be my go to bakery from now on.

Simply cakes used to be thee only place my family and I would get custom cakes and cupcakes. They made my wedding cake, baby shower cakes and every other life event we had- people would ask where we got our cakes so I would always grab their business cards to hand out during our parties. Fast forward to recently: I gave 5 days notice for an 8 inch birthday cake for my son. Nothing crazy, three small fondant characters and I was supplying the other cake toppers. The man who answered the phone was immediately aggressive and rude stating that they're short staffed and stated he would make the cake but wouldn't add any of the characters because I did't give enough notice. I was okay with that and I understand that it was short notice, But it seemed that the more questions I asked the more aggravated he got. Almost as if he had to be rude to curb any type of attitude I MIGHT have. Then he said he could add the number "7" in fondant to my cake for $10. So basically: pay full price for a cake that doesn't have any characters and an extra $10 for the number of years my son is going to be. It doesn't make sense. Just make one of the characters that I'm asking for if you have time to make the fondant number. I like Simply cakes and I never had the intention of calling and complaining. I just wanted to find a middle ground or possibly have it explained to me in a respectful, customer service like manner.I will not be purchasing any more cakes from this business. I will order my future cakes and cupcakes with a business that can appreciate their customers.

This place is amazing! I sent them a photo of a custom James Bond themed cake I wanted for my dad's 70th birthday and they did not disappoint! The cake went beyond colors and words and really captured the James Bond aesthetic- and was delicious! It definitely brought the whole theme together! Thank you so much!
