I stopped by wanting something quick and sweet. I just got one concha and I enjoyed it. The gentleman helping us out was so kind and gave excellent service. I will definitely go again.

The worst bread I have ever eaten in my life. They gave my husband “French bread” for god they were dinner rolls. And the driest and hardest bolillo you can see. The center is completely empty without crumbs. I definitely won't be coming back.

Guatemalan baked goods. Have always passed by this bakery but first time visiting. The smell of freshly baked goods fill the air once you walk in. Had a friendly welcome from the gentleman who helped us. Didn't know what to expect. There's display cases with bread rolls and pastry. Freezers with some banana leaves for tamales and ice cream in a separate freezer. Canned sardines are a popular choice I'm assuming, there were plenty available. Had the concha it was decent. Really good with coffee. The plantain chips were good. Right across the street from the library. Parking around the corner off the sidewalk. It may look closed but check the times. It's a large space but the shopping area is only at the front of the store with a limited selection. They take Apple Pay which was convenient. Overall a good experience.

I wanted to try this place out from seeing images of the bread. It did not come to it, reason why; as soon as I walked in the employees here, just looked at me with unwelcoming vibe. They do not make you feel welcome, and they do not make you feel like they want your business. They make you feel as if you are disturbing their day by walking into the business. I asked nicely and politely what is sold here, and with an attitude, the lady answers. Well, obviously bread, then I asked is this all the bread you have, which was at the glass counter on the left-hand side. And with a strange look on her face as of being bothered by the question nods. So then I just told myself not even worth buying do to their service and I left.

I can't tell you if the pan is dulce... but the people definitely are not. There's nothing sweet about staff refusing service and telling you that you cannot buy bread from them telling you to leave their store, and threatening to call the police on you. These people have a lot to learn, and I encourage them to look across the street and next-door- there's a civil rights office next-door. They could benefit from knowing that you can't just refuse service to people and businesses get sued for refusing service to people. Also, if they go across the street, there's a library and they could get a handbook on customer service that will inform them that threatening to call police on people that are trying to buy bread is not a good business model. Be glad that I'm better at managing my emotions than you. Be glad that it was me that you were mean to because one day you're going to be mean to the wrong person and they're going to lawyer up and sue you. Be glad that I did not whip out my phone and record all of the hostile things that you were saying to me- somebody other than me would've recorded your vitriol words and posted it online and the whole world, including the media, could see your hostile customer service and you would have been canceled and that would be even more detrimental to your business then my yelp post. You can do better than this! Learn to be nicer to people, please. May your bread be softer than your stone hearts.

Omg if you're craving for authentic Guatemalan baked goods please avoid this place. This is the worst Guatemalan bakery ever and I will never come back! I've had lots of champurradas and conchas throughout my life because my family is from Guatemala and these are totally totally goodness gracious-awful wrong! I'm so mad, i was so excited for my baked goods...I made myself a nice cup of coffee and dug in but yuuuuck!!!! I can't even finish anything. The champurradas are way too sweet and a strange sweetness at that, when they're supposed to be just slightly sweet. The conchas are way too soft and more close to Mexican pan Dulce texture...which is bad if you're claiming to be a Guatemalan bakery. Conchas are supposed to be more dense texture and that's what I expect but WTF?!! Idk if these ppl started off as Guatemalan but something happened and the recipes got messed with in time but they certainly NOT for customers with traditional Guatemalan taste. Plus the lady at the counter had a very strange vibe and wasn't very welcoming at all, seemed kinda racist or something which doesn't even make sense since e she is a minority too. This was the first time I bough a bunch of bread that was so disapetizing I'm just gonna have to throw in the garbage where it belongs. If you crave real Chapino bread I hope you read this and heed my warning and only buy a small amount of bread at most! And head to LA instead for the real deal!

I am sad to read the negative reviews. I go to this bakery maybe every 3-4 years when I am in the area and it has been amazing. It is my favorite bakery. The lady is always so sweet and I am amazed that the prices are very reasonable. Please stop by and try their breads/cookie-like treats. As an infrequent guest that goes at random times, every trip in has been no less than exceptional service and quality

I have been driving thru this bakery for quite some time now and I finally decided To stop and grab some bread... now I know why it took me awhile to stop... worsttt service ever. First of all its not Mexican bread they sell its from Guatemala which is perfectly fine I was willing to try something new. I walked in.. they had one glass case with limited bland bread.. extremely quiet place I was there for a few minutes till Finally someone walked out from the back a lady with mad face. I smiled and asked about the bread she didnt respond (very rude) asked for some several pieces of bread.. she was still mad . Asked how much, she told me and pulled out my card.. she said cash only. I then gathered all my loose change and few dollars- she said no change. She either was having a bad day or didnt like me ‍. I tried to continue with my happy self because now I was just really eager to try their bread... left the place. Bread was dry no flavor and nasty! I definitely don't recommend this place!!!
