Expensive but delicious. Very good quality, and happy to have a place on the hill that serves authentic Korean

To the uninitiated, this place offers the right amount and fare, with quality just being ok, at a location convenient to those that frequent the area. There are other similar places that offer more in terms of selection and quality within a short drive. Service was on the good side and not a concern. Staff was helpful to first time customers. May come back here to avoid the crowd at other places.

Stopped by on a whim, this was the most fantastic restaurant I've ever been to. Some of the best food on the west coast, safe to say we will be coming back regularly. Mr and Mrs Kim are some of the most hospitable people I have met in my recent life, and I am proud to call myself a customer of their lovely and peaceful establishment. Cheers to the Kim family.

Legit quality meats, friendly staff, really satisfying. The corn and cheese, bibimbap, try it all with a bbq combo.

With Mar'sel at Terranea, this is easily the BEST restaurant on the Palos Verdes peninsula. Fresh, quality ingredients; authentic; unique; fantastic great-tasting food, and attentive service. An easy five stars. It features a sophisticated menu and a diverse selection of truly special dishes. This is the type of restaurant one sees in the nicest parts of downtowns and in upscale Asian neighborhoods.

Over the holidays, I went to Kim's BBQ in PV. The restaurant had a few customers and it was approximately 2pm. I met a friend for a late lunch- the food was fine. Service was ok- they never refilled our water or tea. By 3pm the restaurant was empty. Not a single other party. My friend and I took our time eating, talking and catching up. Then around 4pm- they asked us to leave- saying- since we were done eating and had been sitting there a long time, they'd like us to leave. We were quite surprised because the restaurant was completely empty and they were not closing in between lunch and dinner. Keep in mind, they did not refill our drinks or even clear the table- I waitressed in college and those are things you may do if you want to nudge someone to leave, as well ask if they need anything else. But none of that happened and while the young man was polite- it was awkward. I felt a little bad for the young adult who asked us to leave because it seemed like he was told by his mother to ask us to leave. I can understand if the restaurant was crowded and people were waiting for a table or the place closed. But this was not the case. It seemed like it just bugged the mom (owner?) that we were done eating and sitting at her empty restaurant?! All in all, it left a really bad taste in my mouth and I won't be returning.

It was my first time at Kim's BBQ after randomly finding it. The food was awesome! It's not AYCE (which is usually what I go for when it comes to Korean BBQ), but the combo plates still had decent amount of food. One mix combo plate was good enough for my party of 4, but if you are extra hungry, I recommend ordering more. Service was a little slow since it was busy but the staff's very kind & attentive. Restaurant is pretty, and it's located in a plaza with lots of parking.

Five stars, even though we have only visited once. My wife and I stopped in for lunch on Friday. The restaurant has been open just over one year, so everything is very new and very clean. My wife was in the mood for hot stone Bi Bim Bap; I ordered spicy kimchi stew. Both dishes were excellent. In particular, I thought that the red chili sauce for the Bi Bim Bap was better than most. It was thicker, less sweet, and it had a rich smoky flavor. The kimchi stew was not as spicy as I expected; perhaps they toned it down because I am a gringo. Nonetheless, it too was very good. The real stars of the show, though, were the banchan. They were hands down the best I've ever had at a Korean restaurant. They were accompanied by an interesting sweet macaroni salad with apples, that was like a makeshift Waldorf salad. It was odd at first, but it made a nice complement (contrast) to the sour and spicy banchan. The prices for lunch were very reasonable, especially when considering the quantity and quality of the side dishes. If I hadn't ordered a 22oz Kloud, we would have gotten out for less than $50. The owners themselves did most of the service, and they were very attentive and friendly. We will definitely return, next time for the two-person BBQ combo. One final note: As noted above, the restaurant opened in Rolling Hills (next to the Bristol Farms) just over one year ago. The owners decided to sign up as sponsors for the LPGA Dio Implant golf tournament. Hopefully next year some players and fans - Korean or not - will drive up the hill a few miles to check this place out after a day of hard walking and golf.

Fantastic food and service! The owner came by our table to welcome us and made us feel like VIPs! I highly recommend Kim's BBQ!

Meat quality does not justify outrageous prices. Very, very expensive. As other reviewers have noted, especially the really long winded ones, the older male owner of the restaurant should not be in the service industry. He is the classic, indifferent "I don't give a..." 1st gen Korean. They may survive in Palos Verdes because of the non-Korean patronage, but Koreans and Korean-Americans will know to not waste their time or money.

This is probably one of the best Korean BBQ I had in my life. Fresh meat, kimchi, seaweed, absolutely magical.Kid-friendliness: They are so nice to kids. My son learned how to use chopsticks here.
