Called in an order and STILL had to wait! They then game me use the WRONG order and we didn't realize it until we got home. At least the food itself wasn't oily.

Food court restaurant, Chinese speaking mostly. Tried their Tom Yum noodle before, a bit salty but good taste. My favorite dish here is their Chinese broccoli with Crispy Pork. Goes great with rice and very tasty. Pineapple fried rice here is also very decent.Overall, great neighborhood/food court restaurant with good dishes for decent money.

What a pleasant surprise and find. I came to the food court for takeout at Harlam's Kitchen but they were closed due to the Lunar New Year. Not wanting to cook and having a hankering for Thai, New Star Thai looked appealing. Ordered the Pad See Ew and the Thai Fried Rice, the portions were very large. When I got home, my kid devoured the Pad See Ew as it was very savory with a slight sweetness. The Thai Fried Rice was presented well in the container and super flavorful. Who knew that there was great quality Thai in the food court. I'll be back to try the pad Thai and the chicken larb.

This place is underrated!! I usually come here to order party trays. The last time I came, I got the pad Thai party tray and it was $30+ tax was $38. I had to call a few times before someone picked up and the person who picked up (probably the owner) didn't speak much English. Nonetheless, the job was done though and we were able to put the order in. I requested for 4:30pm pick up but I didn't end up going until 6pm (poor planning on my end). The people working there laughed and were kind enough to ask if I wanted it to be reheated. Since I was running late, I said no and just paid. Ordering and picking up party trays here is pretty easy and the food is good! I especially like the papaya salad and the pad Thai! I also got the beef salad before but it was just a ton of salad and a layer of beef on top. This is located in a food court so there are also other places you can pick up party trays from if you want a different food item/cuisine. I would definitely come back here and recommend people to come here!

I was in the area. And I figure I give this place a try. I ordered Chicken Pad Thai & Thai Tea. It was okay. Price was fair. I believe Pad Thai should be served with white meat & not brown meat :/. A kid helped me. And definitely needs improvement on his greeting skills! Good luck y'all

New Star Thai is located in a food court within GW Supermarket center on Garvey Ave. They have pretty good Thai dishes. Our go-to items are Pad Sewe with fried tofu or shrimp, Pad Thai, Pad Woon Sen with seafood, sometimes we get their curry dishes... they have a very good beef salad, too, but I don't eat beef anymore so I don't order that anymore. Everything is so good, prices are very reasonable, portions are big... you can't beat it. We don't live in the San Gabriel Valley (SGV) area so New Star Thai is pretty much the only Thai place we order Thai food from when we're out in SGV otherwise we visit Sanamluang Thai Cuisine in Montclair... they are the very best Thai I've ever had. Sorry, I know this review is for New Star Thai LOL. Staff is really nice. Usually there is a sweet older lady who takes the order and the cooking crew is probably her adult children or relatives. Prices are very reasonable. The food court has tables and chairs for dining. One nice thing about food courts is that you don't have to pay tip, but you can tip the individual restaurant if you choose. Drop on by here if you want some great tasting, affordable, and big portions Thai foods. Happy New Starring Thai!
