First time ordering take out week night, place is empty at 7:30 pm. Food is good, might try to dine in with a few friends later.

Fun mom and pop place. Too much rice in the rolls though :((

Worst sushi ever. The rice was so dry, felt like it was made the day before. Rolls were also breaking apart. Not worth spending money here. Seafood quality was also bad and not fresh.

Baked Salmon ! Super good ! I recommend for your next sushi visit ! The service was also very fast and welcoming ! The sushi hut has a vintage look inside very cute !

This place is nice and cozy inside but the sushi is super bland and way overpriced. Plus I had ordered a bowl of regular ramen and was served spicy. The server asked "Is this okay?" It took so long to get to me that I said "Yeah it's fine." It would have been nice if she would have taken a buck or two off for her mistake but whatever...

The owners are very nice. Like others have said before me, the place feels homie. Id come back.

Don't use the menus here to see the prices. I placed an order over the phone for the 30 piece sashimi set expecting to pay $56. I got there and they told me it was $79. 41% price increase! I wouldn't have minded so much except that the sushi was really subpar. 4 out of the 30 pieces were cooked shrimp... the rest are tiny pieces of sashimi. After paying $79 plus taxes and tip, I am not expecting to be hungry. I am still starving! I will not be back

Not my favorite sushi place. Food isn't that good, but service is nice and place feels homey. Plus it's close to home, ok for lazy day lunches. You can tell the owner/chef puts a lot of care in the place. He has lots of pictures of his adventures in every booth for all the customers to see. The bento box is pretty pricey for what we get. Pretty small and the food isn't that good. The tempura isn't that good.

Just moved to Rosemead from Hacienda Heights and was heavily disappointed in regards to the lack of quality Sushi in the area.......that was until I stopped by Wahoo Chaya. The sushi chef who I'm pretty sure is the owner cuts the rolls with finesse and the fish itself you can easily tell is near high quality and is definitely above average. I order the spicy Albacore and Yellow tail. My wife orders the Rainbow Roll to which she describes it like eating air, because the fish is very fresh and light. I tried the shrimp tempura and soft shell crab and unfortunately those items are not as good as the sushi, but my wife stated the Udon was delicious. I rate the sushi 8/10. I have already visited this place four times. I will say it is a little on the pricey side. I wish they had BOGO specials like other sushi spots I have been to with the same caliber and quality of sushi. I usually spend 50$ with tip for pick up each time. So expect that when ordering a few rolls.

They close at 7 but I was just checking out the area and let me order at 7:30! Super sweet of them. I ordered the dragon roll for 15 bucks. A little bit on the pricy side considering the portions and nearby competitors but it was good. The inside is very cozy and traditional. The place seems authentic
