The boba was chewy, soft and sweet but the drinks themselves were just okay. We ordered 5 drinks total and the average rating among the group was a 3.5.

Virtual TeaKup is located in the Mission Bay area. They are a boba truck that is located in the Spark Social SF food truck park. Unfortunately, they close earlier than the park on most days. The easiest and fastest way to order is online for pickup. Service was not the greatest - the employees were not as friendly or welcoming. Also, come early because they may run out of boba in the evenings - I found out the hard way and had to come back on a different day.Since they are a boba truck, they have a small menu. I tried their Strawberry Mango Sunrise with boba and The Boba (their version of a milk tea). Their strawberry mango tea is jasmine tea with strawberries, mangoes, and cane sugar - it was refreshing and had a nice sweet taste to it, a great mix of fruits and tea. Their milk tea is your choice of jasmine of black tea (I chose jasmine tea), non-dairy creamer, brown sugar, creama, and boba - it had a good sweetness to it and it was on the creamier side like a sweet milk, but it worked.

Several people in our group enjoyed the bubble tea here!* My Thai ($7.95) - 4 starsTasty. Soft boba, thick smoothie/milk tea.

Ordering on the provided tablet is pretty easy. I got the most basic popular drink and it tasted great! I would get this again.

Super quick! The cream adds a nice lightness to the drink, size was great, price was not too bad. Don't think I've finished a Thai tea this fast, especially not one this size.

Truly terrible boba spot. Got the passion fruit green tea and it tasted like nothing! Super watery even with less ice. Not even close to fruity. Did not taste any tea.

I got the Thai tea and it was presented unlike anything I’ve seen before! So beautiful and incredibly delicious, thick and creamy. There were many other elevated tea options that I would enjoy! This is a food truck located in the Spark Social SF.

I've gotten 2 fruity drinks from here and both were watery or weird tasting. Can't speak for the milk tea, though.EDIT: Got the milk tea and it's pretty good! Bumping up my rating to 3/5

I'm all for tipping service workers but I'm really not into it with a self serve kiosk where an employee never even greets or interacts with me? I didn't even get a hello and the lady inside was visibly chilling in her phone instead of making my drinks... There's no one to ask for recommendations or info on drinks so they just expect you to know exactly how to order what you want and never interact with them and then tip for their service.

As the only boba tea in Spark Social, they get a lot of business. They have a few different options, but not much customization (no sweetness or ice level) aside from choosing some toppings. They do have almond milk as a substitute if you like.Tried their "Oh Taro" and oh my goodness is it sweet. I wished they decreased the sugar by at least 50%. They also don't mix it well either so by the end, you are just drinking milk. The boba were actually not bad though!

Maybe we came on an off day, but it was a Friday evening and there were only 3 or 4 other customers the whole 20 minutes we were there, so....We wanted to grab a drink before an even and settled on a Cloud 9. We tried using the kiosk and got to the end but there was an error. When someone did take our order, they didn't ask anything about ice or sweetness level as the kiosk had...ok.As we were waiting and dad asked his probably 12 year old son if he wanted a drink while they were walking by and the kid said "Nah ,the cloud 9 tastes like s***". We laughed a little because we had just ordered that and because the kid was so blunt. That was the only smile shared while at Virtual TeaKup. The kid was right. The few other people waiting had their orders forgotten (as did we) until the same guy who took our order asked us what we were waiting for 10 minutes later and then had someone start making our drink. There were 3 people inside and only 3 orders while we were there so service was very disappointing. When we did finally get the drink, it was not as cute as advertised and just tasted like cream and sugar. It was very disappointing. Like I said, it could have been a fluke but from the experience, that seems doubtful.

You guys have to try the creme brulee. No need to add tapioca since there's creme brulee pudding cubes.

(Overall: 85% | B) I ordered the Strawberry Mango drink, which looks pleasing but the flavors are not necessarily up to par. I found the strawberry component of the drink to be VERY bland and needed significant mixing from the mango component to provide better balance. While this is not a bad principle to work with, the ice makes it difficult to combine well and the drink would be better if each individual component is better balanced. Besides that, I found the flavors to be pleasing.
