Best in the area for GAamjatang! Staying is a little short at times so service can be better.

So so good! My friends introduced me to this place for dinner. We ordered their combo A-- I today forgot what it was called haha. But it was basically a pork stew. We also ordered their vegetable pancake. Everything was so so so delicious!! The stew tasted amazing, the meat came off the pork bones so easily, so yummy. After the soup was pretty much gone, they then brought purple rice and mixed everything in. It created a whole new meal. Just fantastic. So yeah this place is worth coming here and eating! All in all I would give this place 4.5 stars! The only .5 missing was us not getting our waters refilled lol, but it's okay we could've been more persistent. Servers were nice, friendly, and helpful regardless. Still worth coming again!!!

This restaurant's specialty is the gam ja tang (pork bones stew). The soup can be ordered as an individual size or as a family style pot that is cooked on the stove top at the table. The family style pot comes in 3 sizes, small feeds around 2-3 people and a large feeds around 6-8 people. We ordered a small ($39.99) with a side of noodles ($3.50). The soup was so delicious and well seasoned. The pork bones soak in all the flavor from the broth and the meat is so nice and tender. Literally falling off of the bones. There is complimentary rice which you can either ask for during your meal or if you wait until you are done with the stew, the server will come and make you kimchi fried rice. We obviously waited to get the kimchi fried rice. The fried rice is made with some of the leftover soup from the stew, making it extra delicious! Parking: this rowland heights location is inside a plaza with plenty of parking.

Comfort food at its best. I haven't ate at the restaurant for a while due to COVID and when I had the craving, I ordered their medium Gam Ja soup (3-4 people serving) from a food delivery service. The soup, pork bones and potato's came in a sturdy plastic container that you can reuse. Fresh veggies were packed in a separate bag. We had a portable stove and I fit everything in a big pot just like how the restaurant would serve it. Between the 3 of us, we had enough food for 3 meals. We just had to make more rice. I do recommend it for cooler days or you would need to blast the AC during this time in LA :)

The meatless neck bones! I'd give them one star: no meat on the pork neck bones. No Kim chi. Shitty service. And I had to ask 3x for a beer. Barely chilled. Disgusting. But their broth was flavorful.

Came for a quick dinner with my cousins. Food was good. Lots of little dishes (the seaweed and pickled radishes were the best) and had the neckbone soup (every table had this). It was flavorful filled with broth, neckbones, potatoes and veggies. Very filling.

my fave korean place in the area!! really local mom and pop shop with the best bossam i've ever haddddd we usually get the gamjatang since it's their specialty and it's so flavorful! we decided to try the dukbokki last time which slayed so hard (i rly wasn't expecting it to since it's not what they specialize in) but it was more savory than sweet which i prefer. the bossam is so so so good but the past 2 times i went they didn't have it? they apparently only make a very small amount per day and only after 5pm. highly highly recommend!!

Randomly came here because the place we originally wanted to go to was really packed but I'm so glad we came to Gam Ja Gol. We live in a city where there aren't many Korean restaurants. Korean stew is such a staple when you're craving something warm and I have no problem driving back here. The waitresses were very friendly (and it might've helped that I had a baby they were enamored with). The gamjatang that is for 2-3 people is huge: I think it could feed four if you don't have family and friends with a ginormous appetite. If you order the gol/pot then they do not give you rice until the end so that it can be made into kimchi fried rice. You can ask for the rice beforehand but then you won't be able to have the fried rice unless you pay extra for rice just fyi. Luckily, we went around 6pm and it wasn't too packed but I do feel like it's a place that gets packed.

It was my second time coming here and both times the food has been delicious! This place tends to get busy at dinner and on weekends so try to make a reservation if you can. We had family of 6 so we ordered 2 medium size pork bone soups and Korean Vegetable Pancake which I forgot to take picture haha. The service was little slow since the place was packed but it was understandable. The pork bone soup is so rich and flavorful with little kick of spice! Oh yeah, don't forget to ask for fried rice after you finish your soup. The server will be happy to make you a complimentary fried rice with kimchi, veggies, and seaweed. I think this restaurant will become our go to place for pork bone soup in the area. Everyone left happy with full stomach

I've had the gam ja jeongol here to-go before but finally got to sit in and eat! We got the small gam ja jeongol this time because we were super hungry and it was pretty big! It could feed 2 super hungry people or 3 moderately hungry people. There was lots of meat and delicious potato chunks. I do wish they put even more vegetables like perilla leaves, but the soup was so pleasantly spicy and flavorful that - with the banchan - everything was satisfyingly filling! You absolutely need to come try their gam ja jeongol!

Service her is always hit or miss but the food is always on point. Highly recommend their bossam (pork belly) which is so flavorful. They only make a limited amount everyday so it tends to run out quickly. The gamjatang is a must! If you order the jungol (shared portion) they make fried rice for you at the end using the remainder broth. Portions are large and you will leave very full!

Definitely a bit of an acquired taste. They're best known for gamja tang (pork neck stew), which comes in a giant pot they boil right at the table. After you finish it, they make a stewed rice for you out of the residual broth with kimchi, seaweed and a bit of oil. The meal is surprisingly filling, though it looks like a bunch of giant bones with very little meat initially. A small is definitely big enough for two or three people. Overall, the flavors are a bit strange and personally not for me, as I didn't like the taste of the broth and found the overall dish to be way too salty. Nonetheless, I definitely appreciate the authenticity of the side dishes, as their pickled radishes and fish cakes are some of the best ones I've ever had! Unfortunately, service is pretty bad, considering they don't even speak to you (maybe due to a language barrier?), our waitress disappeared the entire time we were there, and one person brought us water four times even though we ordered tea. I'd be interested in trying other dishes, but not sure I'll be a returning or frequent customer.

4 stars for the dishes we ordered. 3.5 stars for the lack of customer service. We had a large party so they sat us in the front room separated from the main dining area. It's nice because we felt like we had a private room but on the down side it took them awhile for the attendants to come around. Even with a button on the table to call for service, it takes them awhile to come around. They can be a little more friendly as well. The bibimbap was delicious. The side dishes were excellent especially the fish cakes and the daikons. The grilled fish also very good. The pork backbone stew is a must! We ordered the large size and it's a HUGE portion, packed with flavor with fresh herbs and savory broth. They were generous on the amount of meat. The meat so tender they were falling off the bones.

Worst Korean BBQ I have ever been too. All of the different meat selections were frozen.

Yum! Boyfriend introduced this place and it just takes my addiction in Korean food to another level. haha The soup is bomb! Don't let the color fool you, it's not too spicy, just don't eat the chili! lol We ordered medium size soup, comes with 6 packs of bones, tendered meat, very strong flavor. Perfect for someone me, just recovered from cold. Love that they cook the fried rice with kimchi right from the soup pan after we finished the soup. I thought I was already so full from the soup, but I can't believed that we finished the friend rice too I will come back again, with or without boyfriend! lol
