We recently dined at Happy Family Vegetarian restaurant and were thoroughly impressed with the experience. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was warm and inviting. The menu offered a delightful array of vegetarian options, each bursting with flavor and creativity. The dishes were beautifully presented and made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The staff were attentive and friendly, adding to the overall enjoyable dining experience. Whether you're a dedicated vegetarian or simply looking to explore new culinary delights, Happy Family Vegetarian restaurant is a must-visit destination for delicious and satisfying meals.

Food is only mediocre at best. The customer service is atrocious. Definitely understaffed but the attitude of the staff is terrible, they obviously don't like their jobs. Act like they are doing us a favor by attending to us. Don't even try to ask for water. And despite the lackluster service, they have the audacity to expect a 20 percent tip. As for the menus, none of the prices are accurate. I don't know if they are too cheap to keep their menu prices accurate or intentionally overcharging. Check your receipt before paying. The main menu when you eat there, the prices are off by at least a dollar or two. The to-go menu is even worse. I didn't notice that the prices were not what the menu said until I went to pick up my order. Then I noticed that the prices for both entrees were 50% over what was printed. I even showed them a copy of the menu that was on the counter. With no apologies, their reasoning was "oh well, the owner doesn't want to spend the money to print new menus." So the owner doesn't want to spend money to hire more (and better) help and doesn't want the customers to know the accurate prices to entrees by keeping menus current. Got it. There are so many other restaurants in the area. So many that you're tripping over them.

All vegetarian Chinese. Been here 4 times in about a month or so since discovering it. A big part of the 5 stars is Rebecca. She is consistently super friendly and helpful. Thank you, Rebecca! Of those 4 times picking up food, we were only mildly disappointed once. We think we were there on an off day or time (it was between lunch and dinner). 4 Stars for the food (because of the 1 off day but also maybe it was what we ordered). Definite Delicious Recommendations: Appetizer: - Drumsticks. Yum. - Fried Shrimp also yum but I was not into the kewpie like sauce squeezed on it. Entrees: - Crispy "chicken" with basil. Think this is my favorite dish so far. The Singapore Noodles were also good but didn't have the punch I was looking for. But seriously, still good an a slow build spice. I dug into it later that night after dinner (homemade, not related) because I was still hungry. I ate it cold and from the container like an animal. Soooooo it was good.

Changing my five star to two star due to my last visit. We came here with our friends on a rainy afternoon with 3 other tables with guests. We ordered the fried mushroom, eggplant, and orange chicken. The two ladies that work there doesn't seem to care about their customers anymore. There was a table with Caucasians and they swooned over them like they were celebrities entertaining them while laughing with them. We had to ask a few times to get things, and when we were done, they didn't want to take our empty dishes even when we nicely asked them to - we even stacked it nicely and placed it on the side to get their attention. When it was time to pay, they were happy and quick to give us the bill and happy to take away our signed merchant copy receipt from us when our stack of dishes were right next it and totally ignored and pretended it wasn't even there ! I got annoyed and asked nicely for the 3rd time for them take away so we can enjoy the rest of our meal catching up with our guests with their pot of tea. What was a complete turn off is that the lady looked at the tip first before grabbing the check back. When I asked her to take the dishes away, she gave us a disgusted look as if it was an inconvenience. The food was OK this time around as we like the first time better I'm not sure if they were shortstaffed or there was nobody in the back. There's many other vegetarian places that I'll be trying out instead of going out of our way for them.

My friends and I just came here today (3/3) for lunch, we wanted to go to Veggie Valley in San Gabriel but by the time they picked me up and get there, they woulda be closed already at 2:30 pm, so I googled vegetarian and seen the reviews and is 4 stars, pretty good and I never been here before, the menu looks good so here we are. At first, I thought it was the restaurant outside next to the Ranch market next to the EastWest bank, we walked in seeing the live lobsters in the tank, didn't pay any attention until the waitress brought out the menu then I realized we went to the wrong restaurant lol this restaurant is inside the ranch supermarket lol. We got there, the waitress said we can sit anywhere and we decided to sit in one of the booths. Waitress gave us our menu and ask what we like to drink and I wanted to try their flowers tea, surprisingly we like it, first the tea pot is clear glass and you can see all the flowers and it tasted fragrant and sweet. Is almost like the chrysanthemums tea you have at a dim sum restaurant but with some other sweetness. It took a good 10 minutes for my besties to decide on what to get and it always ends up with the same thing that we get at other vegetarian restaurants lol. There's so much to choose from and they always order the same items lol We order the hot and sour soup medium size, good enough to share for 3 people, when the waitress brought out the soup, you can smell it, the sesame oil and it wasn't too thick like some of the other hot and sour soup I had before. It was good, my friends love it. Then she brought out the kung pao chicken, mushroom house chicken and soy chicken with orange peel with white and brown rice. Then the king fry oysters mushrooms. We also ordered the beef rolls, my friends didn't like that one, maybe cuz the sauce was too much. Is like a hoson sauce that we put into our pho noodles soup. The kung pao chicken tasted more like ham and it was cut into tiny cubes, too much peanuts. All the 3 plates of chicken has those dry red chilis in them and one of my friends can't handle the heat and he accidentally ate a piece stuck to the mushrooms chicken and he was dying lol, he down that glass of water like a shot lol. Overall we enjoyed it. It was less then $100 and I tipped the waitress $20. Is a small restaurant, clean nice and friendly staff, great for dates and friends or family. I think we should all eat vegetarian food once a week to clean out our system, even if we like meat.

Many years back we used to come here every Friday the food was really good. Returning after many years but won't be back again, service was really off, maybe they were shorthanded (2 servers) food came in rice I had to ask for 4 times, don't order the hot & sour with noodles, flavor was really off. Chicken with Basil was okay, the best was the eel in the appetizer section. Rice also was a bit mushy. Hope you guys can improve your taste & service. Wishing you luck.

I normally wouldn't purposely go out of my way to dine at a vegetarian restaurant, however this place caught the attention of my mom and i while we were out. Though the food was pretty tasty and the restaurant was clean and quiet, there was only one server who seemed to working double roles which impacted the service quality. Four stars would recommend for anyone who is interested in asian vegetarian cuisine, if the restaurant dedicated more resources to improving customer service, it could easily be a 5/5.

The address that maps brought me to was not Happy Family. I believe it was Happy Seafood restaurant. It was a week ago. Don't really remember. Since I got out of the car to check it out, I was disappointed. But there was a Ranch 99 market next door. So I went there instead and purchased a 16 lb bag of Botan rice for the house.

MY FAVORITE CHINESE VEGETARIAN RESTAURANT. TASTES AND LOOKS LIKE THE REAL DEAL BUT EVERYTHING IS OBVIOUSLY VEGETARIAN. SERVICE IS GREAT THE LADIES WHO WORK THERE ARE SO NICE. OFFERED ME A BOWL OF RED BEAN SOUP EVEN THOUGH I WAS JUST WAITING FOR MY TAKEOUT.

Had a large party (21 ppl) lunch here and they handled it admirably. They tend to be a bit short staffed and this day it was particularly busy, but the staff are all friendly (may need a reminder or two since they are just so busy and stretched thin). Definitely get the fried oyster mushrooms and generally speaking everything with a fried texture is especially delicious (like the basil "chicken"). I would come here even if I didn't have to eat vegetarian! This is located near the entrance of the 99Ranch, with plenty of private lot parking.
