Surprisingly good food. Satay was great. fried noodles were really good too. If you buy any of the sweet snacks on the counter, refrigerate it. They go bad really fast. The fried chicken was also exceptional. Drinks were way too sweet and thick. overall worth repeating.

I'm Indo and I approve of all of these dishes. We usually get the Nasi, Bami, saté, and Gado! Gotta start with a Chendol.

If you like a good spicy and flavor balance. Java spice is the place. I especially like the nasi boils as it reminds me of lamp rice that is wrapped in banana leaf. I been coming here for years.

Best Indonesia food in LA area. Food so authentic is like you're in Jakarta. Best customer service as always and many items to choice from menu.

Had dinner there and was disappointed with quality of food. I hear that the main chef has changed so that maybe the problem. Had the Tahu goring and it had no gravy on the tofu, and a far cry from what is Tahu goreng from the Far East.

First time trying Indonesian food and I think was a good start. Very flavorful food with a good focus on spice. Big fan of spicy food especially when it's not overly spicy. Service was fast and the place is clean. Definitely would try other dishes next time. Everything seem to be balanced well with good pairing of ingredients.

Food is mediocre at best & overpriced! I ordered Nasi Goreng Babat (beef tripe) which is a must have for any Indonesian restaurant. It was bland. The beef tripe was old beef tripe that was deep fried & very tough. Service was non existent. We had to get our water refilled ourselves. I've had bad Indonesian food before. This one is up there. Will never come back!

Not too busy of a restaurant and we wanted to change so we decided to check out Java Spice for some Indonesian food. It was small and they were very kind. We ordered their pork satay, seasonal cah kangkung (#67), sop buntut (#32), ikan panggang kecap (#39), and 2 rice bowls. For 4 dishes, it ended up being around $75 which is pretty pricey and their portions were a bit smaller than what we were picturing. The sop buntut and pork satay were fresh whereas the other dishes were okay. The seasonal cah kangkung came later in the meal and I was already full but otherwise, the taste was fine. The panggang kecap tilapia fish was burnt so I hardly touched it. We had a good experience with their staff as they were nice but for the size portion and prices, I would like to try somewhere else next time!

Great food we have been here many many times and food has always been great. Only thing was the pork skewers had to much fat for my taste but other than that everything was great

Most delicious Malaysian restaurant in the area. Fast service and casual dining. Friend from Malaysia took me here 10 years ago and it stood the test of time. Go on weekends for their special banana leaf rice dish.

New to LA area, food came out fast. Some not so hot, fried rice and noodles not too tasty, fish cake with noodles a bit too sweet, Gado Gado very bland. But if you want Indo food, it is very decent place to go and try, soups quite tasty. Restaurant location is a plus; among many Asia establishments with plenty of varieties of food all around. Great area to check them out.
