This place gives the feel of a ma and pa kind of Korean diner. The clear bone broth soup is really light on flavor, but somehow wasn't overwhelmed by any of the side dishes that have an impact of taste. This restaurant also seems to be frequented by a good number of Koreans so it looks like it got their seal of approval as well. The pricing on their food is something to be adverse too for the amount of food you get, but I suppose your trading for a slightly higher quality of food.

Great place for some nice bone broth soup on a cold day. The broths are very flavorful and include a good amount of meat. The side dishes are a must, especially the radish kimchi. Slightly on the pricier range at about $15-18 per bowl.Parking: A lot of parking available as it is in a plaza.Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs. Wheelchair accessible with handicap parking right in front. All seats can be taken out to accommodate.

I was a little hesitant to try this place again after trying seonji haejangguk because it was a miss for me. But decided to try the ttagi haejangguk, and I definitely found new respect for this place. It tasted like the haejangguk I expected and more. It has a spicy kick to it that made it better! Will be frequenting this new found discovery!

Was craving Korean food and this was the only place open before 11am. Ordered japchae and bibimbap. The japchae was really oily and the bibimbap was quite bland. Overall, the food was average for slightly higher prices. The portions are a good size though. There seemed to be a lot of soup options on the menu so maybe should have tried that instead

We live nearby but its our first time here. There so many soups too choose from. I think their seafood tofu soup is really goos, so is the galbu tang. Service is good too. Great choice for fall weather.

Good little family fun Korean restaurant serving hot tofu soon dishes as well as an assortment of soups, Korean bbq and other traditional Korean dishes. Service is friendly by the two ladies running the shop. Older restaurant but still popular with local Koreans. Worth the stop especially if BCD has a long wait as it is about 5 mins walk across the street from there.

One of the few places in the neighborhood that's open early. What I ate- Yukgaejang: feeling under the weather, this spicy savory soup picked me up and helped me clear my sinuses. Full of green onions, the broth was savory and spicy.- Mushroom tofu soup: not the best tofu soup, but I wasn't expecting it since this isn't a tofu soup spot. Still, it worked in a pinch and fulfilled my cravingPros:- Open early- Pretty comprehensive menu as there are soup other than just sulluntang offered- Super nice server. She was just opening up but friendly- Plenty of parkingCons:- None that I can think ofWould I come again? If I was craving Korean food early in the morning

TLDR: One of the best side dishes I've ever had, pure broths, and friendly staff. Definitely a hidden gem in broad daylight on the large Colima street. I was driving home one day and interested in trying a local Chinese restaurant in the plaza across from the GW plaza. However, I took a walk around and stumbled upon Jin Ju - definitely not what I was expecting to eat, but I instantly felt in the mood for sullongtang. The restaurant was fairly empty by 8pm on a weekday night, and there were still a few staff members cleaning up. I entered the restaurant and to my surprise all the Korean I knew didn't enter with me. I made it through with some nervous English ;_; and proceeded to order JinJu GomTang - also not what I was expecting - to try something that may be signature. After ordering, I was brought hot tea and side dishes. As someone who's been to quite a handful of Korean restaurants and lived in Korea for two months, side dishes never entertained me. I generally nibble on them while waiting for food, but the experience here was different. I started the side dishes with the fish cakes. I usually despise these as they're cold, tough, and uncomfortably salty / sour. However, I found the ones here to be softer and well marinated. The flavor didn't bug me, which was a pleasant surprise. The kimchi here is less spicy, but it is amazing because this brings out the sweeter side of it. I found this style to have piqued my interest towards the radish kimchi, which was similarly flavorful. The kelp here is unlike other places. They aren't easily separated, and they are less crisp. Generally, that'd be a red flag for me, but eating these as a bunch brought out a texture that was well enjoyed. The pepper, certainly, would've ended my night, but I found that it wasn't too spicy and paired well with the soybean paste, leaving the smaller marinated radish at the end. By now, I was too happy with the other side dishes I didn't care too much for this one, and the staff were kind enough to give me seconds and even thirds if I had wanted. The gomtang that I ordered... I quickly devoured and wasn't even thinking about pictures. However, the tastes were extremely pure, as expected of broth soup boiled over hours. There was very little salt and pepper added, but those were at the table and could be added to the customer's satisfaction. While eating, my Korean had returned, and I was able to strike up some conversation with the staff. They were friendly, and I feel that this location doesn't get as much love as it deserves. It's quite easy to miss being on its own island on a big a street as Colima, but I hope more people find out about this!

This is our go-to in the area for beef soups. Plenty of other restaurants do offer them, but Jin Ju specializes in this, and is consistent every time. Prices have risen recently, but the quality remains the same. We normally order the sullungtang and galbi-tang. There are always a few customers no matter what time I go. Usually older Koreans, which is a good sign. Big parking lot and lots of tables. usually just one worker, so be patient. If in a rush, call 20 min ahead of time for a pickup

Second time we visit and eat at a Korean restaurant while visiting USA and really.. this one was not a hit and miss. It's real home Korean food with large servings and excellent quality. Recommend the seafood pancake and any of the broths. Will certainly return in our next visit to CA.
