Can't really complain aside from long waits to get in. But aside from that, the food is great, their service is relatively fast, and the quality is great.

Used to love this place and would come for lunch. However recently seems like they have gotten rid of all the snacks from the snack bar for lunchtime and we asked them if it’s the same price for lunch and dinner and they said yes. Not sure why you have to pay same price for lunch if you get less things, either reduce the price or actually serve some snacks if customers have to pay the extra fee for the “snack” bar.I also think the quality of meat has gone down significantly and kind of seems like they reuse leftover ingredients from the night before if they haven’t sold out for the next days lunch.Apart from that, I do like the tomato soup base still and portion is decent. Atmosphere is nice and was pretty empty for lunch. Parking can still be hard to find since this plaza has a lot of other restaurants and stores inside.I don’t think I’ll be coming back especially when I compare my experiences to similar tiered hot pot places like Hai Di Lao. I’d rather pay a bit more at HDL for a better snack bar, customer service, quality of meat and ingredients, and ambiance.

Chongqing people think the taste is average. The food is not very good. But the service is very good. The venue is large. Went to eat on New Year's Eve. many people. It feels like a reunion. Waited in line for 40 minutes. What I want is the lively feeling of being crowded.

Had dinner here on Saturday for a friend's birthday. It was a great experience since their service was phenomenal. However, I woke up at 5 am the next morning with food poisoning. It has been 2 days and my stomach still feels uncomfortable. Will never come back.

Best for large parties. Only thing is portion size small so the prices add up. Meat tasted great tho. Amazing

I went to dinner with friends and just after paying the bill, a cockroach ran out from under the plate. The waiter looked nonchalant, as if he was used to it. It was really disappointing.

I am a person who suffers from diarrhea after eating hot pot. Only his family can do this.

An amazing hot pot place. I’ve been here many times and would come here many times in the future. It’s NOT an ayce each place. However, the dishes are good. There’s even a snack/sauce/fruit bar. They have more selections from lunch and dinner. I personally like their crispy pork, tofu and lamb dishes. But their other dishes are good as well. Make sure when you get their spicy broth, get their lightest spicy level. The only down side to this place is parking. It’s so hard to get a good parking. But other than that, I totally recommend this place.Parking: Really hard to find parking

Definitely one of the better hot pot places in Southern California, especially compared to most of what you find in the Inland Empire. There's a clear difference between the soup base here and lesser quality restaurants-- You don't really need sauce here, which is unfortunately so often used as a crutch for tasteless broth. That being said, there is a very well stocked sauce station. You'll just most likely be going there to pick up snacks, of which there are a variety. Personally, I got a ton of shrimp chips and honeydew melon (which worked wonders in helping me cool off from the spicy broth). I was surprised that the red bean soup wasn't very good (a tad watery, a little lacking in flavor) but the jellies and other desserts made up for it. I got the split broth with half spicy and half mushroom broth. Be warned that the spice level is no joke-- If you're not big on spicy food, I strongly recommend staying away from the spicy broth, and our server was kind enough to still warn us to start with mild and adjust as necessary (and lo and behold, mild was perfectly fine for us). AYCE is popular now, but I enjoyed the a la carte ordering here--I didn't feel pressured to overstuff myself and could just order and enjoy what I wanted. There's a large variety of options, including some good vegetarian ones; I was happy to see a big selection of different tofus with unique textures and tastes! On the meat side of things, the beef sampler is nice, but I think the standard sliced beef is better. Still, it's a good deal for having a variety of things to try, and you might find a new favorite. Overall-- I had a great experience here and loved the food. It's a little crowded and a little chaotic as a result, but it's hot pot... This kind of atmosphere just tells you that it's going to be delicious.

(IG: @foodwideni) Had Hot Pot at @laomatouhotpot in Rowland Heights with the family! We were impressed by the large portion size, quality of bone broth soup and amount of food we ended up ordering! We would definitely come back here again for a quality hot pot experience. Plenty of seating inside&outside & parking lot available.

Alright, buckle up, spice enthusiasts! Lao Ma Tou Hot Pot is the kind of place that turns your regular dinner into a fiery adventure. I recently danced with my taste buds at this joint, and let me tell you, it's one for the chili-loving record books.First off, the broth. They've got more options than I have moods, and that's saying something. From mild and soothing to "call the fire department," you can take your pick. I went for the medium-spicy and felt like I was a dragon breathing out flavor flames. The aroma alone is a party in your nostrils. The ingredient spread is a colorful, chaotic masterpiece. You name it; they've got it - beef, lamb, veggies, noodles doing the noodle dance - you practically need a treasure map to navigate the hot pot. The best part? Everything is fresh as a daisy. Dive that meat into the boiling cauldron, fish it out, and voila - flavor explosion! Now, let's talk about the DIY sauce station. It's like a playground for your taste buds. Soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic, cilantro - mix and match until you find your personal flavor nirvana. My sauce creation could probably win a culinary Grammy. Just saying. The vibe at Lao Ma Tou is electric. It's not your grandma's quiet tea party. It's more like a hot pot rave. You've got people slurping noodles, laughter bouncing off the walls, and the occasional gasp when someone accidentally drops a meatball into the abyss. It's chaotic harmony, and I love it.Service? On point. The staff is quick, helpful, and they've got that ninja-like skill of refilling your drink just when you need it most. They're like the unsung heroes of the hot pot battlefield.Price-wise, it won't burn a hole in your pocket. It's a bang-for-your-buck kind of situation. Pay the bill, roll out the door, and you'll be planning your next visit on the way home.In a nutshell, if you're into spice, laughter, and an interactive dining experience, Lao Ma Tou Hot Pot is your jam. Gather your spice warriors, hit this joint, and prepare for a hot pot journey that'll have your taste buds doing the cha-cha.
