Hit or miss with this place lately ever since their no longer sam woo's. Our family has been coming here for over 20 years without complaints but their quality and consistent flavor is no longer there. This post is for the last six times we got food here. Example my wife loves the sweet and sour fish and not once has the flavor or color or texture been the same.

I like its BBQ pork belly better than other options. Overall, a very good place for authentic Cantonese BBQ. I wonder why few Cantonese restaurants in the U.S. offer roasted goose besides roasted duck. BBQ goose is more authentic Cantonese food. :)

Still one the best Cantonese food in this area, been coming and taking out dishes from here for 26 years.

Cashier never changed gloves, touch Togo box inside out with the glover which counted cash.

I got the beef chow fun. It was decent, but I think the beef chow fun at Phoenix Food Boutique is a lot better. It is more flavorful there and the beef is more tender and tasty. It was a good sized portion, so if you're craving some chow fun, this place should do. My parents have gotten the roast duck here before and they say it is tastier than other places. They said the price is also a little cheaper.

Out of all the Sam Woo in SoCal, this one is the friendliest (Alhambra has the worst cashier, with San Gabriel being second worst). Not to mention, the food is actually good (Irvine serves cold roasted duck claiming it's warm) and warm. I'm only talking about carry out here since we've been living with Covid and all. But yeah, drive more to get to them for less attitude from bitter staff.

First off I'm going to comment about the woman behind the counter. Upon taking my order she is not very customer service oriented and is hard to understand when she is speaking. She was very short tempered and not so welcoming and didn't understand what I was asking her; along with her having to constantly stop to ask another worker there what I was asking. She not only had an attitude with me when It was my turn to order but how did I know I was to tell her I wasn't going to be putting my order together with the person whom just went to the other side of the counter to order something else from that side of the restaurant? She range me up and it was almost $29 dollars! For two items! What the heck, I asked what she had range up and she then proceeded to tell me to " hurry up because she needs to tell the cooks not to make it if I don't want it ". I was appalled! To hurry up! Who the heck does she think she is talking too? I understand a long day and her age but come on!? Never again will I frequent this establishment, first and last time here. I will take pictures of my food once I get home.

Asked for 1 pound of pork belly at $15.99/lb and my total came to $31 at check out. When I told them I only wanted a pound he told me it's just a little over a pound and it's already chopped... not very honest business. AVOID!

I ordered Wor Wonton Soup and Duck Lo Mein. They were both very tasty. They packed wontons separately so they were fresh. There were several wontons and the wontons were good. Duck meat had some bones in it which made it more tasty. There could be a little more duck meat.

Food was good but they couldn't make me tomato beef chow mein because it wasn't in their menu. They take credit cards now.
