Me and my friends were excited to go to Barwest, but were told at the door that we couldn't go in because I was wearing jordan's. He didn't even recognize my shoes were jordan's at first and had to ask me what type of shoes I had on. I was wearing AJ1 Lows, which looked very similar to the dunks everyone else was getting let in with. We initially thought it was a joke because the security guy said dunks and air forces were fine, just not jordan's, and we found that rule ridiculous. The security guy started to get more aggressive towards us and would not explain the reasoning for the rule, he just said that's how it is. When my friends and I were out of line looking for a place to go, he continued to yell at us for being curious what other shoes people were wearing. We were not being disruptive or making a scene, just watching as other people were let in, but he proceeded to verbally harass us. We watched him send away a guy for wearing jordan's, but he was much more chill and understanding towards him. The way he treated my friends and I felt misogynistic and rude. There's no signage saying the dress code or anything on their website currently. My friends and I have been to Barwest several times and love going there on Thursdays. I have been let in wearing those shoes before, which is why I assumed it would be fine to wear them again. If they're going to enforce a strict dress code, they should at least be consistent about it and have it posted somewhere. It doesn't make sense that the dress code depends on who's at the front.

Loved the atmosphere upon arriving but after sitting down and waiting over 15 minutes with no one as much as even addressing us, we walked out. There were three people working behind the bar, two chatting with each other so it's not even a matter of it being a busy lunch time.

Friendly staff (for a newly open place), tasty food (Caesar salad with grilled shrimp ?), well made alcoholic drinks and clean environment of dining room. It was an improvement to finding so few people out and about in Midtown Sac. Although I would advise the staff to close the acrylic garage door when so few people are insides to cut the cold air drafty atmosphere at 17:00 hours.Wheelchair accessibility: Easy wheelchair access entrance and bathrooms. Entrance door was left open for entrance. Bathroom door handle 3" from floor and smooth action.

Stopped here to watch a little bit of some football. They have a lot of TVs so perfect with that, the food was real good. Ordered pulled pork sliders 10/10 and a steak salad 8/10. Had some fatty parts in the steak was hard to chew. The waitress was not my favorite. She brought the sliders and then I had to tell her to get my salad 10 min after our sliders. Also I saw her go upstairs for a while as i waited for my food. So that was a miss. Atmosphere was ok, sticky tables, our seats were a bit sunken in. Total was 41$. Only had water

Stopped in for some lunch while taking my dog to the park. It was during the day at the start of the week so the place was pretty empty. I split the pulled pork sliders and a Cesar Salad with my husband. We thought the food was great. Our dog was able to sit at the bar with us since the garage doors were open. My husband was a fan of “the wall” to see replays from sports for the week. The bartender was very nice. We chatted with another couple that sat down and they said they loved their food too. Can’t remember what they were eating. I asked my friend (who is a local) if he had ever been there and he said he had a few times to watch some games and while it had gotten busy sometimes he has never had a bad experience. Prices were comparable with other establishments we have been too.

Beware, the dress code is based on ethnicity. My girlfriend and I went to this bar to celebrate her birthday. I had planned to ask about the options for bottle service for her and her friends. When we arrived at the bar the group of guys in front of us were wearing 49er hats and T-shirts. All nice guys and we chatted about football while we waited to get in. They entered with no issue. When My girlfriend and I got to the front of the line (interracial couple) security said they do not allow guys in the bar that we are wearing “air Jordans”. ?. I completely understand that bars have dress codes. But I’ve never heard of a bar that allows you to wear sports hats and T-shirts, but not air Jordans. Let me describe the rest of my attire , I had a Ralph Lauren polo shirt, and classic dark jeans with a slim fit. When I ask the security, how can you let people in with hats and T-shirts and not air Jordans the response was it’s at the “security discretion”. I purposely did not identify the ethnicity of anyone that I’m describing in this review. I will let the reader come to their own conclusions. I’m just letting people know, especially people visiting from out of town (like myself) be mindful of a establishment that profiles. I would be interested to see the response from the bar regarding this matter. We recorded the conversation in case they deny this situation. They are a lot awesome places to visit in Sacramento. Unfortunately, this is not of them. Beware!

Im not surprised to see low reviews. I went there today to grab a drink while waiting for a GF. Was completely ignored for almost 15 minutes. I was about to walk out then finally got asked if I needed something. I felt obligated so ordered a drink. The couple next to me, also ignored and walked out. My GF joined me, also ignored. We just left and went to Centro where we were immediately seated and served. Never coming back, would never recommend.

This place let me in and as soon as we got settled I was told that if I don't find shoes that weren't Jordan's I would have to leave in 30 minutes. I wonder why they were fine with vans and converse though.

I went there last Saturday for my girlfriend birthday. Before we got in, I saw one of the security was mocking my sign language without realizing I am literally a deaf person. Maybe he didn’t like me because my girlfriend said they don’t want people to wear Jordan shoes before we get in. I can tense a bad vibes from them.However, I moved on for a few hours having fun and dancing with friends. The drinks was good. I also make new friends as well.Somehow the place was starting to get really packed and it was hard for me to get through getting my girlfriends attention, so I shoved the security to get out of my way (it is part of the deaf culture to touch people so we can get through) the security randomly grabbed me down and start choking me.I couldn’t breathe for a few minutes and 2 days later, I am still in pain. I’m a little dude and im surprised I’m a “threat” to them since they are a lot bigger than I am.Definitely will never go back there again.I tipped them more than $50+ and paid about $300… so technically I tipped them so they can choke me and kick me and my friends out? Way to go security. I hope y’all investigate this and get him fired.
