If you are looking for fun drinks and quick bites with friends, this is the spot! Right in the middle of so many bars/restaurants and if you have time, checkout their speakeasy in their storage room. The bawk bites is what made me want to come here and they did not disappoint. Only dark meat tenders friend with some spice ? I will say though after only a small cup of them, I was good in fried food for a whole month. It’s VERY heavy and salty so I added it into my Mac n cheese to balance it out. The Mac cheese was delicious when I ordered it but it also depends on who’s cooking that day because my friend posted some watery Mac n cheese when went to visit. The cucumber salad looked alright but was pretty refreshing, just like my cocktail. Overall good prices and quick small bites. I just wished they had fresh oysters (they only have them some days)

Huge thank you to the staff working at Bawk. When my friend became unwell while waiting in line, the staff were quick to offer assistance. They also repeatedly checked in on them during our time at the restaurant. We appreciate the kindness, patience and empathy the staff showed tonight.
Amazing fried chicken! Had to fried chicken sandwich and put a runny egg on top ate it over the waffle fries!! Sooo freaking good!Service was on point too!

This used to be a go-to place for me that I really enjoyed but I feel it just went downhill. The drinks aren't good, the food is disappointing, and the last time I went the place stunk. I didn't enjoy my last two meals and cocktails drinks I ordered from them and won't be going here anymore. The chicken nuggets are only okay. The salads offered are only okay. The alcoholic cocktails U order are never great and only okay. Their burger was only okay. Basically this place is just okay but the prices are high for the food received, especially in comparison to other restaurants in Sac. Such a bummer.

This place is super good!!! I've came here multiple times to try to the food with different friends and every time the vibe has been great.. This place absolutely never disappoints with food. Anything chicken of course is good. Waffle texture is completely different because the cornbread mixture. Shrimp and grits where delicious. Every drink I ordered I've liked. The servers are kind every time and my food always came out super hot which I like. This place is full of secrets and great food. I'd definitely recommend checking this place out with a girlfriend or two.

This is the best food I've had since I moved to Sacramento! I got the Maple hot half chicken with Brussels sprouts. The maple flavor chicken was to dieeee for! The Brussels sprouts were really good too, and crunchy! My gf got the shrimp and grits with a side of mac n cheese. They were both bombbb! The service was super fast! The ambiance of the place was nice and not crowded at all. Would def recommend!!

Fantastic service and food but it gets INSANELY busy as it is R street, they get Ace of Spades traffic and they get absolutely drowned in customers with only a handful of staff. There’s usually only 2-3 people seating for both Roost and Bawk so if you are a little patient you’ll have great drinks and Cali style southern eats.Vegetarian options: Definitely NOT vegan, few options for flexitarians.

Stopped by for a late lunch. Seating was a breeze. Shrimp and grits was delicious! My brother ordered chicken and waffles and a cup of coffee. Server said they ran out of coffee and would brew a fresh cup. The coffee did not arrive until we were almost done eating.
