Seriously, hands down the best chile verde breakfast burrito in Sacramento county.

Excellent tacos and salsa. Super fresh tortillas. Make sure to eat promptly cause we tried saving a few tacos but the tortillas disintegrate. Flavor of the tacos and size is superb but still a little pricey. Only negative is our chips were beyond stale but all the entrees were wonderful.

Leaves much to be desired. Not authentic, salsa is not very good, and for some reason the aguas frescas have a beer aftertaste.Very disappointed, not coming here again.

Lots of seating available on a Tuesday around noon. Ordered the Taco Combo. Had 1 carne asada taco & 1 shrimp taco. The shrimp taco was awesome! So flavorful! The carne asada was good. Combo came with rice and beans. There are no cushions on the indoor booth seating benches. Festive music indoors. Outdoor seating has both shaded and full sun tables.

This place was really tasty! Came here as a group of about 10. It was a pretty small place with mostly patio seating. The bathroom was in an out building out back. I had 3 tacos quesabarria, shrimp, and smoked brisket. I really enjoyed them all. I would have preferred a stronger smoke taste from the brisket. But the quesabarria was on point. The staff was awesome! Just a bunch of chill people working hard and slinging tacos.

I was hoping for more low carb options since the new operators at this location are the people who operate Urban Roots. I misjudged and knew immediately when I looked at the menu.Still, I went in to enjoy what they did have and ordered a Chile Relleno Burrito. It was OK but not as good as other Mexican options. The price was the same as Zocalo but quality was not in the same league.Additionally, my burrito took 55 minutes after ordering. Far too long for lunch in a crowd that was much smaller than the already small facility. I could see the same dozen orders waiting for nearly the entire wait.Nothing really impressive and easy too slow.

Visited for the first time with a few friends on a super rainy day. I have been to Urban Roots so many times and have always wanted to try The Shack. The interior is really bright, colorful and cheerful - evokes an almost tropical vibe. The booths are deep and tall but not super comfy. Ample covered patio space outdoors. I can see this being a great spot to grab a beer and some tacos on a warm summer night. You order at the counter and get a number for your table. The service was friendly, quick and easy-going. The food comes out as fired/ready. Lots of UR beers on tap and some specialty/seasonal cocktails to choose from as well. Large variety of salsas to sample from the complimentary chip/salsa bar. Food: -Nice crisp chips and fresh salsa, I am partial to the verde. -Double Cheeseburger (I know, I know - a burger at a taco joint?). Word on the street is this is the best burger in town - can't say I agree but it was darn good. Cooked smash-style, similar to In-n-Out special sauce. The fries were super thin and crispy. I'd order it again. -Al Pastor Taco - the pork was chopped too finely, causing it to be overcooked and almost crunchy - a shame. Could have used more pineapple too. -Quesabirria Taco - this puppy was ginormous and a great deal for the under $7 price tag. Great consume, nice crisp tortilla exterior. Only complaint is it's a freaking mess to eat, as quesabirria is known to be. -Pork Pozole - my friend really liked it and the portion was very generous. -Carne Asada Taco - perfect cook on the steak, plentiful filling. I had the seasonal Cranberry, Rosemary Vodka Martini that was exceptional. The garnish was so cute and the sugar rim was to die for. Wish I could recreate it! My friends had some beer and they are already huge UR fans. Glad I got to try it out. When I am back near Corti Bros / deep East Sac again in the future, I'll keep them in mind for a return visit.

Really great food! The chips and salsa are fantastic and they make a really good margarita! I got the burrito. It was fantastic. This place has a really good atmosphere and it’s really fun to eat outside during the summer.

Came on a weekend to try this establishment since taking over the Shack. The line to order food was long and a bit unorganized. The tacos were decent, however, I have had better. I felt the prices were high for what you got. Nice little selection of beers and service was good. Parking is very limited.
