My wife and I wanted to sit by the river and enjoy some good food and drinks. In order to sit outside we had to wait a bit, no problem. It didn't seem to be too busy, but some tables were lingering, not Crawdad's fault. We decided we really wanted our drinks by the water, not in the bar, so we were waiting to be seated before ordering drinks. At one time, 3 tables outside left in quick succession. Those tables sat empty for 10 minutes. When we were seated, we were brought water, but ignored for 20 minutes. Out waitress (who I'll redact her name) walked past our table no less than 5 times, without acknowledging us, even to say something like, "Sorry, I'll be right back, I'm a little busy." Just that would have saved this review. During that time waiting, a hostess running water looked at our table as she passed with the jug, seemingly acknowledged my wife's nearly empty glass, and continued on her way. Just as we were about to give up, a table behind us was seated, and the waitress immediately came to their table and took their order (they had been waiting too and had hungry kids). We decided to skip drinks as they obviously weren't interested in serving us, but we were hungry and invested, so we ordered our food. We ordered an appetizer and two entrees. The waitress made a point to ask if we wanted the appetizer to come out first. While that should be a given, I'm fine with that. We had to ask for our water to be filled even though the empty glasses had been on the edge of the table for some time. The appetizer came just around 5 minutes before our entrees. The food was fair, but we were kind of soured at this point. Both my wife and I have served and work in the service industry, so we have a sense of difficulties in the back of house. This didn't seem like that. There seemed to be plenty of coverage and it wasn't overly busy. I doubt we will return.

Docked and PAID at the riverbank Marina/ Crawdads for dinner with 5 others. We were harassed by "Security" or someone who claims to work the dock with zero knowledge how to throw a rope. We paid from 8pm to 10pm. he came over to our table letting us know HE was leaving work soon like it was our issue. I let him know we paid until 10pm. it didn't matter to him. when we got to our boat around 9:30pm he proceeded to stand there telling us he was leaving in two minutes. We stayed until around 9:50pm when we were ready to push off. Mind you after eating for just over two hours with lots of food. once pushed off and yelling to him give us our rope, he began yelling at us that our boat was band from coming back for staying later than we should have and for being "assholes." I have video of him acting beyond unprofessional and photos of our paid receipt. what an embarrassment of an employee and "someone in power" for your establishment. no wonder why your restaurant is always dead after certain hours. with this one in charge, I can't imagine the amount of customers you're loosing. I expect a phone call back first thing during business hours, especially after a $400 bill. 973-2704388

Everything was excellent!! We had the Calamari and the sauces they served with it were both delicious! I preferred the spicier one, though. We also each had a cup of clam chowder which both of us loved!

It was a beautiful 78 degree day, couldn't think of a better way than to spend the afternoon eating lunch on the Sacramento River. Sun shinning, light breeze in my hair and the sound of waves create a vibe only Crawdads can provide. We arrive and park on the lower level of the parking lot as there was no parking on street level. I prefer to dine on the outside patio so the wait was 30mins or so. There is a IG worthy sitting area and spacious bar while you wait. Our waitress was bubbly and present, always checking in on us with fast service. I was in the mood for a top shelf margarita $15, boozy and refreshing 10/10 We ordered calamari as our starter. This was perfectly seasoned and cooked with a tasty chipotle aioli on the side. 9/10 Boyfriend wanted the salmon but it was sold out so arrive early in the day if this is the dish's you prefer. We both opted for the surf n turf skewers with side salad for a healthy lunch. Steak was juicy and tender, everything was great and a perfect lunch date. Will be back.

Took lady out for a Friday's lunch around town in Sac. we were a bit skeptical due to the overall 3* only but I just love Southern food, especially bucket of craw-fish/crawdads. The place was quite nice. weather was nice and we opted to sit outside by the water. Sabrina, our server, was quite a bubbly gal. Unfortunately, I was driving so was not able to indulge too much liquor. I ordered a spicy margarita and it quite tasty. a little smaller size than I wished. My lady got a glass of Chardonnay. The apps and soup came quickly and tasty. I ordered my bucket and wife got the pasta dish. in all, it was a pleasant lunch at the place, interaction with Sabrina. Bottom line, not sure why they got low rating but it was a 5* for my lunch there.

We had an exceptional lunch today at crawdads Barb had the fish tacos, and I had the fish and chips. Both were scrumptious. Jenna, our server was awesome and we enjoyed the day watching the river go by and having some fun in the sun.

My sister came to visit from Louisiana and picked this spot for dinner. I have Never been here before and was truly impressed. The environment was so beautiful and welcoming. The waterfront seating. Beautiful lobby area. The patio/deck seating and I absolutely dig the Alligator on the wall! We were a table of 12 but Our server (4got her name ) was so great. My dad heckled her a bit because it took awhile to get our food and our drinks (that's why I gave a 4 out of 5)because it was pretty busy and she seemed solo. We ordered mainly drinks and a few appetizers which were delicious. Guacamole was super yummy. The fried green beans were great. The crab grilled cheese was best ever (per my hubby) and the calamari was very good too! I have lived here for almost 6 years now and this was my 1st time but I will be back.

We went there around 6pm at a Friday night. The restaurant was not too busy yet. There were 2 waitresses and a bartender. We stood by the entrance and waited politely to be seated. A waitress walked by us several times busy taking orders and getting the check for customers. She did not look or talk to us as if we were invisible. We stood there for about 10 minutes and nobody cared. Another group walked straight in and seated themselves. The waitress gave them water and menus even though we were there way earlier… … No customer should be treated like how she treated us. No matter how good your food tastes or how great the reviews look on the internet, we will NOT go to this place again!
This place was awesome! I'm surprised they only have 3 stars on Yelp- everything was great for us. It is a little walk on a ramp over the water, but well worth it to sit right on the water and see boats go by. Our daughter really enjoyed the atmosphere. Calamari was really enjoyable. The pieces were large and tender. It had an additional seasoning tossed on top which really set it apart from other places. Huge portion and half off during HH. Such a great deal! They have good options for kids. We got the kids grilled cheese which came with fries. It was very large since it is on Texas toast. The bread is so good. Buttered and perfectly grilled. Large side of fries which are flakey, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. BLAT was large as well. It was on the same buttery Texas toast. Thick cut bacon with a good amount of veggies on it. I ordered mayo and mustard on the side. It is a dollar more for fries (normally comes with chips) but well worth the upgrade. Creole burrito was loaded and was surprisingly good. Fish and andouille sausage mix with yummy sauce inside. Came with fresh tortilla chips. Portions were so big. Only ate half on my sandwich because the calamari was so large. Reasonable prices and great view. Fast service.

The food was horrible. Calamari had no flavor or seasoning and was a bit oily. The Clam Chowder came to the table completely cold (not even warm). I told the server and she was apologetic. Took it back and I'm sure she warmed it up the microwave because it came back 5 minutes later piping hot. The server was really nice, but I'd never go back.

Our primary server was Brooke who had an attitude of a person controlling the space station.I asked what cut the fries were and Brooke said to look at another gentleman's fries as a guide.. Umm why should I? In the food service industry how can you simply not say right away what cut fries are used? (That gentleman tackily offered me fries which I thought was super weird behavior as we didn't interact with him, understandable that some people have a hard time minding their own business). They call it Fish and Chips but it's more of fish and long medium cut fries, with okayish taste. I was expecting something like cod or halibut for the fish but I don't think that was the fish. Overpriced for the given quantity than what you'd get at some upscale places downtown. My colleagues and I were super disappointed with the service (apart from the service rendered by other servers), especially me having visited multiple restaurants across multiple countries and the service industry interaction has never been this below par, other places in the US included. It threw us off and we then decided to bug out. Also found some drunk and racist weirdos in the area. Thought I was transported to some uncouth place.
