I was sadly disappointed as I was informed, before being seated, that there was a time restriction on our table....something I'd expect from an AYCA type of environment. While our waiter was great, I wasn't too impressed with the steak or salmon we ordered....and having the bread served as a huge one piece item without a sharp enough knife to cut through it, was questionable.

I love Ella! I have been here a few times and each visit has not disappointed. I am very impressed by the food, drinks, and staff. I also appreciate how the chef will make a vegan dish for my fiancee.

Food was wonderful as was the service. Alex our waiter was great as was Damian?? Our busboy. The sommelier was also polite and informed. Other than that, it was an awful experience. They had a full house -an entire convention of people there. They never should have allowed reservations for others. It was obnoxiously loud and crowded. You had to yell to hear the person across the table from you. We even waited for our desert to be served and just carried it outside ourselves for some peace and quiet. The couple at the table next to us had a similar experience. Their first and last time at Ella. While I am sure on another night the experience could be much different I doubt that we will ever give it another chance.

A little pricy too not be perfect. Food was good with exceptions. Oysters and steak were great. Tartar was generous but unusual. Risotto was too rich. Halibut would have been amazing if not terribly undercooked. Wait staff were fantastic.

Very common decor for an upscale restaurant. Nothing innovative. They probably haven't changed in decades and the location is a money maker at this point since it's well known. Both had pork chops after hearing the raves, both were like, it was good but not worth raving. To die for was the bone marrow with mushrooms. A nicely made old fashioned. Would I go back? Not really, although I don't have anything against it.

Hello everyone I'm nenev see like this michelin restaurant service, we come 4,54 pm my reservation is 5pm they not give me the table they say ok you need wait ok we seat on the bar table and wait ,when 5pm nobody come and say your table is ready ,thus very very not professional ?, FOOD is very salt and my husband he can eat ,when lady holded plate with food my table everytime is dirty, this not good place for celebrate birthday ar busses meeting. But price so high. ?

Exceptional experience. Ella has not missed a beat all these years later. Bravo to Kayla and her counterpart. They both were attentive without being too much. Food was the outstanding- both my wife and I had the dungeness crab stuffed halibut. It was out of this world- props to the chefs for an amazing dish. Next time in Sacramento we will be back!
Best scallops I've ever had, the buzz-free drinks were SO GOOD, and the truffle brioche was literally to die for! The service was amazing and the restaurant had a unique but pleasant style. Can't wait to go back!
