This has been my go to brunch spot for years. They make the BEST biscuits and gravy. Stephs platter w bottomless mimosas got me thru my early 20's. So sad to hear it's closed now. Just went 2 weeks ago and didn't hear anything about them closing.

Yes - they are closed! I saw the note on the door too! I have eaten the Jason's Bowl at least 30 times. A shame!

I'm so sad! They're closed! There was this notice taped to the window. Facebook looks like there may be catering or food truck services.

Evan's Kitchen is a solid place to go for your brunch needs. Most of my information about the restaurant is pre-COVID, so please excuse me if anything has changed! When we went, there was ample indoor seating along with a few tables and bar seating located outside (though this is placed on a narrow sidewalk type area). There is usually more than enough parking in the plaza. The indoor seating gives off a family restaurant vibe, which is nice and cozy. There can be a bit of a wait at Evans, which is pretty typical for a brunch place. However, we always encountered very friendly service by the waitstaff and never felt like we were being neglected. The crab cakes benny (eggs Benedict) is my favorite dish, but some of my friends have had the very large omelets and came out super satisfied. I have also had the turkey burger, which was delicious. Overall, I would say that Evan's Kitchen is a very solid choice for brunch or lunch in Sacramento, especially for families. P.S. There is a lovely antique store a few doors down which is fun to visit afterward if you're into that sort of thing!

Cute little spot nestled between antique shops. My sisters and I came here looking for a great brunch spot that was mom and kids friendly. We had a party of 9 (3 adults & 6 kids) and I expected a long wait so I showed up early to get our names on the list. After putting us down it was a total of 15 minutes before they had a table ready. I was shocked at how quick it was for a Saturday around 11am. Since my sisters hadn't arrived yet, the hostess offered to bring my toddler a bowl of fruit to snack on while we waited. That was a genius and amazingly kind thing to do and it kept my daughter occupied and stopped any fussiness. They took great care of us and the meal was delicious! Service was a 10/10!

Great breakfast spot! Nearly everything I tasted there was excellent. Totally random but the best country gravy I’ve ever had!

Fantastic food. One of the better biscuits and gravy I've experienced in Sacramento. The breakfast sandwich I had with ham was spectacular. It might have been Covid 19 coup-up but I highly doubt it. Food was great....service was good I highly recommend!

The Starvin' Marvin (chicken fried steak with outstanding sausage gravy, eggs, and home fries or fruit--get the home fries--and toast) is the best breakfast in Sacramento, for sure. Evan's has outstanding food, every time.

Very disappointing.. I chose this restaurant for a get together with my 3 sons based on prior reviews and menu. We were finally seated after a short 30 min wait in outside patio. Took our drink order all soda and were brought the drinks right away. After drinks were served, we waited 25 minutes for a waiter to come out and take our order. By then our drinks were empty. We gave him our orders and I asked for refills on our drinks. I was told that the waiter needed to send someone else out to fill them and that would take a few minutes. We waited 30 minutes before our drinks were refilled. 10 minutes after that came our food. Well I was given burnt potatoes and I mean they were black and my egg sandwich was Bland and cold. One of my sons had ordered the veggie sandwich and he said the quality was not good and his french fries were cold. One of my sons ordered the vegan burrito he said it tasted Bland. He got a side of fruit which consisted of diced melon. My last son got a eggs benedict with steak. His food was 10 minutes later than hours however it was warm but he's still got burnt potatoes as well. I would never return. I don't know how it has such rave reviews.

Came here on a Tuesday morning around 10:30 since I wanted to avoid the lunch crowds. The tables were placed more than 6 feet away so that was a plus. Read a Yelp review that they had passion fruit lemonade. Well, I'm a s***** for passion fruit so I ordered that instead of OJ and I'm glad I did. I checked out the menu beforehand and I was set on getting eggs benedict. I decided on crab cakes benny since that appealed to me the most. My friend ordered a Monte Cristo sandwich and it looked humongous when it arrived at the table. I think he took more than half in a to-go bag. My crab cakes benny were a bit fishy. Perhaps the crab cakes weren't the freshest, but the taste was good enough. The eggs were runny - just how I like them. I also opted for fresh fruits instead of country potatoes. Yes, my subtle way of trying to be a bit healthier. Lol Overall, a very nice brunch with good company. Yeah, I would certainly come back. This certainly spelled comfort food to me~

The servers are so nice, and the food is delicious! The meals are creative and well executed, I will be coming back for that crab cake benedict..

The food was really good and the alcohol was even better! I had the prawn egg benedict (I forget the name) and it was slamming. The crab benedict was just okay but that has more to do with my own personal taste. You should give them a go!

“It’ll be a 20 min wait” We had to wait almost an hour to be seated. The tables were barely cleaned once we were seated, there was also water spilled on one of the seats. We also had to wait another quarter of an hour to order our food. The food is great though
