Food was delicious as always. I would have rated it 5 stars if they stay open a little later until 8pm. Closing at 7pm is a little too early.Vegetarian options: You probably can order all veggies with no meat.

I really like this new restaurant because it looks clean and very sleek. And the food is portion really well. It looks like to me that if you are someone who goes to the gym or basically someone who watches their macros or calorie intake, the food looks like it's portioned in a way that suits your diet. This restaurant replaced the old restaurant that used to be here but it's okay because this new location is really good.

This place is so goated! I'm so glad they were able to reopen after their initial shutdown. I always get the take 2 and it's amazing. Something about their chicken always hits the spot. It comes with a little side of soup as well. Their rice is also seasoned and is delicious. It's a little pricy but for what you get I feel that it's worth it and it's supporting a small business as well. 10/10 recommend!

I’m giving u guys 5 starts because I really love this place but I’m very disappointed because you guys have been temporary closed for a while now. When do you guys open back up again?

Ambiance is trendy and pretty. Customer service is friendly. I order the classic chicken meal, sweet mango and sticky rice and it's pretty flavorful and good. I just wish it's served in the real plates and dish ware to make the whole meal and experience much better. Overall, food and place is good so yes I would come back.

The steamed tofu and veggies was great, I was really glad to see they have a veggie option. I'm pretty sure the rice is still cooked in chicken stock, but I can't complain since chicken is in the name of the restaurant!

Best place in Sacramento for chicken, rice and their soup combo!! Out of all the places in Sac where I've had something similar, nothing hits as close as this place for their authentic and flavorful dishes. Highly recommend for people who are looking for a relatively cheap, healthy and fulfilling meal.

They're closed for the time being due to fire damage for anyone else who drove up like me even tho the phone was disconnected. Really great food and generous portions. Looking forward to their reopening

The chicken is not dry at all and it's very tasty. The Thai tea not too bad, but it would not be my go to.

My granddaughter and I were at the zoo and looking for someplace to eat nearby. I found this on yelp and so happy that we did the food was amazing! Definitely recommend and wish we lived nearby. I'd go back every week?

Gai 'N Rice has never failed to disappoint me in every meal I have had here. Each rice plate is portioned well, has great flavor, and leaves you satisfied that you are glad you ordered what you got. I get the Take2, and swap out the lean meat for dark meat. The combination of the crispy chicken and the flavorful dark meat, along with the soybean sauce and sweet chili sauce, gives the dish so much flavor to play with. Additionally the plate comes with a small bowl of broth that is just so refreshing. I've had the Thai Coffee and Thai Tea here as well. It's not too strong on the coffee or tea flavor, but it also isn't just diluted by the dairy they use. I enjoy it a lot if I'm having it in the afternoon. Gai 'N Rice is my favorite comfort meal within the Sacramento area and I would implore anyone who hasn't had it yet to go and try it.

Ordered the Take2 which included fried crispy and poached chicken. We requested thigh meat (as for the default is breast). The meal came with jasmine rice, cucumber, a Thai chili sauce, a soybean sauce, and even a cup of a chicken broth. You get a lot of food for the price and all was delicious. I preferred the soybean sauce and would suggest dipping the chicken in both the broth and sauce for optimal flavor. Atmosphere would be great for working or studying. They also have a wide drink selection if you don’t want food!

Quick and easy spot for lunch or dinner. I came on a Sunday afternoon and it was pretty busy. There are a few tables but otherwise recommend to go. The food was tasty despite it just being chicken and rice. Not pictured was a tasty curry puff. Slightly pricey for not being a sit down with service restaurant.
