When some calls twice to leave a message in hopes to making reservations you would think you would get at least a call back. I left a voicemail on 04/15 & again on 04/17. Then called back AGAIN on 4/18 to be told "fully committed " for Mother's Day Brunch. That's fine but how about a call back to let me know. We've been to Grange many times and brought out of town friends multiple times as well. Very entitled of you and your staff. If I were to run my business this way, I wouldn't expect any customers. That is why we will never come back to Grange again. Just return a darned call.

Lovely restaurant. It is very modern and pretty inside. Menu is small, about 5 appetizers and 5 main courses to choose from. Changes seasonally. I had the citrus salad and halibut. The salad was so good! I know, a salad right? Trust me, it was delicious. Halibut was cooked perfectly. My date had the rib eye and artichoke soup. He said it was probably the best rib eye he's ever had. It had a mushroom tartlet that was good as well, but we both thought it would be perfect if maybe there was a small portion of fondant potatoes as well. Soup was alright, but he preferred the citrus salad over the soup, as the soup was more one dimensional. Service was good. Wine list was good. Old fashioned was also nice.

Extremely poor and slow service today. Waited for a while to get seated, and when I was finally shown to a table, I had to flag someone down to place an order. The food never came. I feel bad for the service staff. They are clearly overwhelmed, and it is not very busy here at all.

Came here for Easter brunch. Restaurant is very nice inside. I ordered the pasta. It was a 6/10 for me. The soup I enjoyed. I give it a 8/10. There was a dessert bar. I didn't really care for that. Our server was nice. From where I was sitting I could hear the kitchen staff. Everyone seemed to be speaking in a respectful manner. Maybe I'll come back and try something different.

The grange is a cool restaurant. We ordered the appetizer crudo and it was delicious. My husband had steak and I had the chicken. The chicken dinner was like eating a thanksgiving meal. Had I known it was similar to a Thanksgiving entree, I would have ordered something else. It was okay. His steak was prepared perfectly. The reason for 4 stars is the location. There is a park across the street with many homeless people. Broken glass, tents and glass littering the streets. I did not feel safe walking to and from my car. They do have valet and it is $15 for valet service plus tip. With the prices of the food, they should provide valet for free or for a reasonable fee / $5. As good as the food is, I'm not sure I'll go back. Our safety is important.

Decent happy hour. The bread on the burger seemed a little hard and old, but very well cooked burger.

The food is incredible and the ambiance is swanky. The service could be just a bit better and speediness of the food needs more excelleration

Fancy! Decor and ambiance is beautiful. I expected more from the kitchen, unbalanced and overpowering flavors in a few delicate menu options though. I will be back to try again, someone's palate might have been off that day!

The ambiance was upscale and comfortable. I found the drinks to be the best part of the visit. The menu is relatively small and no specials. The appetizer was good. The entrees, NY strip was mid. I'd prefer a ribeye or filet. If I return, I'll sit at the bar for drinks.

Bad service, understaffed, not friendly. Errr, no thanks. Didn't try the food so can't comment there.

I was staying at the citizen a few weeks ago and ended up eating at the Grange. I must say the food was outstanding for a hotel bar / restaurant. The duck tarrine was one of the best I've had in the states. Although the bread was a bit too hard and too greasy for my likes. I like it crunchy but soft enough in the middle. The squash tempura was so good. And it came with a furikake aioli which was divine. I still think about it! The crab brioche were also super good but a little bit too much brioche for a small bite / appetiser. I had a glass of the carneros which was easy and entertaining enough. Service was very good. I thought the space was a bit too open and it was hard to socialise/ interact with others. Which I often seek at a hotel bar / restaurant.

Located in the heart of Sacramento downtown, Grange is in the Citizen Hotel, a very nice historic hotel in the city. The overall layout of the restaurant is geared towards socializing, with a large open space, long banquettes, a long bar and some high tops. The décor is old world chic, and there is also a private dining room at the back, and some upstairs areas overlooking the main floor. Very cool digs for sure. We dropped in for lunch on a Saturday. The bar was full, but the dining area was near empty. Our server was friendly, but a little distracted, probably due to the lack of customers at that time. Aside from that, the fact that due to the layout, you can see and hear the servers chatting behind what is supposed to be a barrier wall that is actually completely open (more like a designer screen than a wall). We looked at the menu, and determined we were truly not that hungry yet. So, instead of just walking out, we asked to split one of their eggs benedict. The chef did a really nice job on the benedict. It / they came out on a 'designed' plate, each with a side salad to fill the remaining space. The salad was a nice touch. The benedicts were perfectly prepared, and had a southwest flavor. Chorizo instead of Canadian bacon, topped with a chipotle hollandaise and jalapenos. A tasty and welcome surprise. Grange is a bit pricey, but if you are up to a social night out this would be a good choice in my opinion.

Our waiter was disinterested and snarky. The appetizers were delicious. Main courses were heavy on the protein and lacking any fresh, light, delicate accessory or taste. It may have been an anomaly , not a great dinner for us.
