Tried this place last year with my sister and it was good. But I completely forgot about it. Until my husband mentioned teriyaki chicken. Omg i am glad I remembered this place. The food is so good, even my picky 4 yr old said it was “bussin”. We had the chicken mix combo plate, and the regular chicken combo plate and the lumpia. The lumpia was sooo good. Not burnt or dried out. We ate the leftovers for lunch the next day. Tasted like real authentic Hawaiian bbq

For the money it wasn't bad. I got two lunches out of the BBQ Chicken and it stayed moist for the whole two days. The staff appeared to be happy enough.

this was our first time trying out this place and all i can say is we were very satisfied! portions are very generous, they give you enough meat. other places i have gone to were stingy with their meat and just put more rice instead. the macaroni salad is delicious and reminds me of how they make it in the islands, it’s legit. they even have a good variety of milk teas and fruity drinks that you can get with boba too! the ramen was by far one of the best i have had in the states so far, the broth was delicious & the toppings were great. we are definitely coming back again & spreading the word with friends and fam to come check this place out. get out there and support your local family owned businesses people❤️??✨one love

A Ruse

Just picked up a sushi "burrito" here, and a side of macaroni salad. The sushi burrito is kind of like a really really big hand roll, but better. It tastes super fresh, packed with the kind of tasty goodies you would find in a poke bowl. Really delicious. I would order it again in a heartbeat. They also have a complete array of the traditional Hawaiian favorites. The macaroni salad is good, and honestly the only thing that I would change is to add a dash of vinegar to it. But it's still really good. This place is absolutely worth a try if you like Hawaiian food. Okay, that is my food review. If you want to hear about the rest of my experience at JJ"s, keep reading. So, the food is great, but the service was even better. I'm in Sacramento for a quick trip to visit my elderly mother who is in a care home nearby. The care home is less than a mile from my hotel, so I decided I could manage without renting a car . But I didn't anticipate that it would be cold and raining. There's a Target just down the road , and I needed to pick up a few things for my mom and decided to walk . It was pretty chilly out, and it started raining while I walking to Target. I picked up my target order and decided to grab some JJ's before heading back to the hotel. All that is to say that when I walked into the restaurant, I was cold, damp, and kinda wishing I'd rented a car. Playing the woman behind the counter was incredibly sweet and a little bit shocked that I had walked in the dark and cold and rain, carrying my Target order, no less. After I had paid and was waiting for my food she came out and gave me a hot green tea to help warm me up. It was a small thing, but an incredibly thoughtful gesture. I really appreciated it. And the food made the whole experience perfect. I will definitely be back!
