I never leave reviews anywhere, good or bad, but I have to make sure everybody knows just how amazing Kaylo’s is! I went in today for the first time to pick up a few items I ordered, and it felt like I was coming into a spot that I’d been coming to for years. Everybody on the staff was so nice and made sure I was taken care of while waiting. While waiting, I got to meet the man behind it all, Los, and that man is working some magic over at this spot. They’ve only been in this spot for a little over a year, but already are the best BBQ I’ve had on the west coast. There’s just something to it. Even as I’m writing this, the peppery smokiness of the ribs and links just make you feel like you’ve never had BBQ before. If good food is what you want, they’ve got the great stuff here.Even on a little bit of a crowded intersection, they’ve set it up to where you feel like you’re in your own oasis away from the noise. With a full bar, karaoke, and these good vibes? Man you can’t go wrong. All in all, I can guarantee you haven’t been to a place that has the love Los and Kay put in the food and the business. Especially nowadays, it feels so refreshing to go to a place that makes your heart smile wider than your belly. Sacramento is lucky to have this spot and its people. If you’re second guessing, take this review as your call to GO!! Thank you Kaylos!!

Hands-down, the best barbecue in Sacramento don’t go anywhere else. This place has an authentic homemade taste to every single bite and with a cherry on top their pricing is exquisite. With great pricing and great homemade food. This is hands-down, one of the best places to eat at in Sacramento!!!!!!!!!

came here for a bbq fix heard its the best bbq in town first time i came it was an hour before closing and they were almost sold out of everything had the ribs mac&cheese and greens; ribs were falling off the bone good, greens were ok, mac and cheese was cheesy and so delicious i just knew i had to come back and try everything else. came for 2nd time earlier in the day this time since i didn't get to try they're other items order chicken ribs hot link baked beans and potato salad; this 2nd time around ribs were good but wasnt falling off the bone like the first time, the mac and cheese was cheesy but bland tasted nothing like the first time the baked beans were ok a bit to watery for my liking i really liked the potato salad. the bar didnt have many good quality alcohol. The energy was great service was great. i feel like this is one of those hit or miss spots like it can be delicious some days and other days not so much energy but into it.

The food is hands down AMAZING!!! Our first time here and we are already hooked.I will be calling my order in ahead of time cause they're so good they run out fast.Ribs melt in your mouth, the tri tip is so yummy and tender. Portions are big. They were out of chicken when we got there but I can't wait to try it.

Ordered 2 meat combo for $22. Told that tri tip would be EXTRA $3 PER SLICE. I asked for one side to be mac n chess and told THAT WOULD BE AN EXTRA $3! Size of Mac was same as a shot glass. Feelin actively ripped off.

I, like a lot of people, came across this restaurant via instagram promotion for black owned businesses in Sacramento. My family doesn’t eat pork & we’re from the south, so we were really excited about supporting the business and getting beef ribs. The first time I attempted to go, was a Saturday around 2:15pm but I left with no food. I waited in line until 3:05pm, outside the building in the sun and only moved 10-15ft and was nowhere near the counter to make an order. While in line I heard other customers saying that they hope they didn’t “run out of food again”. This made me nervous because I had already seen reviews saying they ran out of food often with no warning after hours of waiting.Disappointed, I figured I’d try again the next week, and that was today. I assumed they may just be family owned so I should get there early in case they did run out of food. I got there 45min before they opened and jumped in line as soon as they opened. Fortunately this this time I was able to order two beef rib plates. I travelled down from Rocklin to Arden to support, so I checked the food before I left… only to find ONE rib in my box. $26 for ONE rib and 2 small sides. I was confused because I had never seen that before at any bbq restaurant from the Midwest, Deep South, Tri-state areas. After checking the other box I noticed there were 2 pieces but one looked very thin.I went back to the restaurant to check to see if there had been any possible issue, not aggressively or rude. I went back in and only asked if the rib plate was supposed to have 1 or 2 ribs because the boxes were the same plate but didn’t match in rib count. The cook explained that they charged $15/ rib… I didn’t argue, I didn’t yell, I just said “ok”. Based on that logic, 2 ribs ALONE would be $30.Finally, upon eating the food… the collard greens tasted like they were canned and just heated up with little no seasoning. The “baked” beans were watery, and I had never seen baked beans that appeared to be sloshing in water only darkened by the natural liquid from the can. The beef rib was not “bad”, but it was dry and wasn’t seasoned. It seemed as if someone simply put the rib on the grill directly from the packaging and played it after it was charred.I spent $60+ for two rib plates, after one failed attempt, only to have a less than average meal. As seen in the picture, the menu states $18 for “Ribs”(plural) plate but I was told it’s an extra $10 for beef ribs. The employees were all nice in my experience, but it just seems as if they aren’t organized as the lines are long but I don’t believe it’s because the food is “that good”. Unfortunately, I will not be supporting again & hopefully they get a better approach to their quality and inventory issues.

I ordered the 2 meat combo and 3 sides, I got ribs that fell off the bone hunty do you hear me and the link which was flavorful but not hot or spicy which is what I was looking for, and because I don't care for beans I asked for two side orders of greens and potato salad because they didn't have any more Mac and cheese (sad face). The greens where perfect ! however, this could be just me but I was not a fan of the potato salad but then again I haven't been a fan of potato salad since child hood. Love this place and glad I came. Will try Mac and cheese and peach cobbler the next time, in hopes they have some when I come again.

My husband and I stood in line and finally got our food to go w/in 2 hours from 1:30p today. Customers that were arriving after 3p were turned away because the restaurant announced they only had chicken, links and limited sides. My husband and I were able to order two orders of 2 meat plates (the plate consists of 2 meats and 2 sides) but wasn’t told what sides were available. Our order was given bagged up. Unfortunately we ended up with 2 plates of chicken, links, 3 separate small cups of beans for $47 paid. Disappointed. The chicken was undercooked, beans and the link was good. We were not only overcharged, but waited for 2 hours on food we anticipated on getting and didn’t get. We were also told by one of the staffs to expect food to run out if you arrive around 2-3p. Which is hard to understand when the business opens from 1p-7p on Saturdays. They’re very unorganized. It’s a hard no to revisit. I hope to come across a different soul food restaurant to try nearby soon though.

Let me start my review by saying the staff was cool. The place was clean, both good things. It was early afternoon, and it had a good steady flow of customers . Prices are not too bad. I got my food pretty quick. I tried 2 proteins and 2 sides about 20$. The proteins were barely seasoned beyond the pecan smoke flavor, which to me was fine. Unfortunately, both proteins were extra dry with no real bite to them. Seemed like it was reheated in oven or held in oven to long. But that's just my opinions and my tastes. The dessert was delicious. However, the greens smelled metallic, like canned vegetables, and were the saltyiest things I have ever tasted. 2 bites, then no more, threw the rest away. I want to like this place so much. I guess bbq is hit or miss. This time was a miss, but this has potential. Next time it might hit. I will definitely try this place again and encourage you to check it out. Everyone has different tastes, and it's pretty damn good, so much easier than breaking out the grill.

I was so excited when I took my first bite of greens, dirty rice & mac & cheese. Baked beans were good but bell peppers were sliced and not diced which made them really big. Potato salad was definitely not my fav but it passed. With all of that I was pretty pleased with the sides but my ribs were wet and soggy. There was no color to them and they were sitting in a bed of juice. Almost like they were boiled first then smoked and because of that they didn’t have that pretty red smoked color. I was disappointed. I spent $70 dollars and only ate the sides. Chicken was good but ribs were definitely a disappointment.

This BBQ was so good, the sauce is like icing on a cake. We all know a good cake doesn't need icing. Um um good!
