Customer service was good and helpful, unfortunately our tres leches gender reveal cake was pretty nasty. We couldn't even finish half of it because it was too sweet and did not taste like a real tres leches cake that we've tasted before in other places. We don't recommend getting cakes from this bakery

Worse customer service ever experienced in this place in the bakery area! Hispanic workers were not too friendly with Asian American customer like myself! Shame of you!! Do not discriminate as you and I are from another country!! Be kind, be helpful and like your job even if it kills you!!

Some of the best pan dulce I've ever had. Great customer service. Early bird gets the freshest pan and more variety. They take Apple Pay and card. Plenty of parking so if you're ever in the area...stop by and get you some delicious pan dulce!!

I ordered a cake las week for my nephews graduation from elementary. We told the lady on the phone what we wanted. We ordered a white and blue cake with roses and a graduation cap, with big blue letters saying congratulations Raymond. It was bad! Sadly we didn't open the box before taking it home. First and last time.

The best Mexican bakery in the Sacramento area. You go to most Mexican markets in the region & all their prepackaged Mexican pastries all come from this place. Delicious!

The turnovers are amazing especially the strawberry with cream ones, just wish that the chocolate ones had more of the chocolate filling. I opened it up and you could actually count the chocolate chips

La Esperanza bakery has the most beautiful assortment of Mexican baked goods. I've only been in a couple of times but I have enjoyed picking new treats. My two girlfriends just had birthdays this week. They love the tres leches cake. It's fluffy , milky cake with a layer of strawberry jam in center and has a whipped cream topping . Very tasty and creamy. I love the concha rolls, the pineapple cream and the churros . I can't wait to try more lovely goodies next time. I have been buying Carnitas, tamales, tortillas, salsa and rice and beans for years at there store at the other end of their building . Best Carnitas in town. Great place to buy dinner and dessert. Yum!!

Esta panadería tiene muchas opciones de pan dulce, bolillos y bocadillos o ingredientes para cocinar. El pan está a buen precio y de buena calidad. Love this bakery! It has a ton of bread as well as snacks, and a little pantry section. The price of the baked goods is really unmatched.

I went in to purchase a birthday cake for my father who requested tres-leches. The line was unusually long for a Tuesday afternoon; my wife and I waited nearly 45min. There were two individuals not wearing a mask, myself and an older gentleman who was probably around 75yrs old. In addition, many others had masks under their nose on their chin. Further, if you peeked through the kitchen window none, and I repeat none of the bakers were wearing a mask to which I completely support, that they are useless at this point. Any who, after the long wait it was our turn. Before greeting us, an older female employee said in Spanish, "sir, masks are required" with a grin on her face. My wife said not to make a fuss. I replied I don't have one and the cowardly employee did not even make eye contact with me or offer to give a mask. Needless to say I stepped out and walked past the other gentleman without a mask whom was served without issues (good for him). This was sheer discrimination by the employee! This employees does not understand that this a CDC "recommendation" and what she did is discrimination under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. This was my last straw, as those who shop here know these employees, as a collective can be rude and ill-mannered. You'll be lucky to get a greeting when shopping. My family members have been customers for nearly 10yrs and after today, we will purchase goods elsewhere.

Very disappointed this year. Very unorganized and they seemed overwhelmed. Unfortunately because they could not handle their customer base this year, we have sought elsewhere for our tamales and bakery goods and were pleasantly surprised with the variety of tamales and the abundance of bakery items, not currently found at LaEsperanza this year. It’s a shame that we have been their customers for over 10 years and because they can’t handle the business we have found elsewhere to do our business. I will not miss the long lines and meatless tamales.

I ordered a tres leches cake for my birthday, when I saw the cake, it I thought it looked okay, but I let it go. But when I cut later that evening, the cake was so dry. This was not tres leches or if it was, the cake was old. Not ordering cakes from this place again.

The best of the best of your favorites pan dulce. Fresh made every day, and the lines go fast, so don't let the line intimidate you. So go get some pan dulce and make your family smile.

I go to the Mexican grocery store connected to this bakery from time to time and I haven't stepped foot into this bakery until now. Upon entering the place I saw a bunch of pretty cakes available for purchase; perfect if you need a birthday cake in a pinch. Further into the small bakery there were a variety of treats on display. I got a cinnamon roll, a custard donut, a churro, an open-faced cheese Danish pastry, and a pineapple cheese Danish pastry (hmm....for a Mexican bakery I didn't get much Mexican baked goods I just realized, woops. Many of the other customers were here mainly for bolillos). My favorite out of the bunch is the cinnamon roll. It's not the best tasting cinnamon roll that I've had, but I liked how it maintained its softness for a few days. Warning though: it has a bunch of raisins in it.....not recommended for raisin anti-fans. The custard donut is massive; I ended up portioning it off into 3 messy pieces. The donut part was pillow-soft and not too sweet.....just how I like it. The custard would've been the highlight if it didn't have a noticeable imitation-vanilla aftertaste. The churro is not the churro that I'm used to; not crispy, a bit chewy. I kinda cheated and popped it into my air fryer.....it worked out alright. The Danish pastries were decent. Nothing to write home about. A slight step up from Svenhard's Danish pastries (you know, those iconic grocery-store ones). I expected my haul to easily come out to over $20 (I guess I'm too used to paying bougie Sac bakery prices). Was pleasantly surprised that the items came out to be about $2 each. Not too shabby at all for a $10-and-change haul. Nice little neighborhood bakery overall. I recommend visiting especially if your sweet tooth is bugging you and you want something quick and cheap.

What a bust. I called twice today to check before I drove down there to see if they had churros. No one picked up so I figured it's only 20 mins, I'll swing by. Sadly no churros were to be found even though their signs and reviews indicate churros were a real thing here. I had hoped to buy a bunch for my dinner party this evening but will have to look elsewhere. Otherwise it was bustling, parking was easy and the service was friendly enough.

This review is only about the bolillos only bolillos I'm going to review The bolillos from Esperanza Bakery has been going down hill, compared with a few years ago. The bolillos are dead, no flavor, they are like zombies bolillos bro, before the bolillos were full of flavor, colors, but now is like a survival food just eat it to keep you a live, it's very sad I don't know if the old baker guy retired or quit, but It's not the same the old glory bolillos days are far gone RIP good bolillos I will always miss you.
