Love this local neighborhood joint! My boyfriend and I went here for a date night and we weren't disappointed. We loved that it was in walking distance and it had a nice patio for outdoor seating to enjoy the weather! I really enjoyed the tacos because I thought they were really authentic. The Vampiro taco was Al pastor with bits of pineapple, which I found refreshing to balance out the flavor. The carne asada taco was good but I think it needed something else on it like guacamole or salsa. I really liked the chips and salsa appetizer that we got because the salsa trio was well thought out: fried jalapeño, chili verde, and red salsa. All of them were homemade, which homemade, which is why I enjoyed them so much! Overall, we will be coming back over the summer!

I wanted to like this place but it was hit and miss. I ordered carnitas and asada tacos as well as a veggie taco. The carnitas and veg were very oily. I don't know if they cooked it in too much oil or what but it was unappetizing. The carne asada was decent and not as oily. Service was nice and I like the decor. Hoping it was an off night.

I was ready to dismiss this Mexican restaurant in the revitalized Oak Park neighborhood, but my wife and I were surprised with it's delicious dishes. It can best be described as grandma's traditional dishes recreated by you niece who went to culinary school. The food is good, with the traditional flavors but mild enough to appreciate the spices involved. What helped push my review from 4 stars to 5, was the pour over coffee and freshly made churro's. The best way to finish a Mexican meal is with coffee and a sweet dessert. My wife and I will return for brunch.

I visited this establishment on a Sunday afternoon, party of two. They did not have table service. I ordered off of the brunch menu, which runs Saturday/Sunday from 10a-3p, and got the huevos rancheros plate. The other person in my party ordered the quesabirria tacos. I will put it to you like this, the food left much (seasoning) to be desired, as both plates were very bland. The best item out of what was ordered today was the michelada. While the service was okay, I would not recommend or return. This place is more aesthetic than anything.

Ok so I would consider myself a quesadilla expert and let me tell you.... The pollo quesadilla is SOOOO good. I would rate this the BEST chicken quesadilla in Sacramento and it's not even close. A++++

In our local opinion La Venadita is always a solid choice - seamless counter service ordering experience, consistently reliable cuisine and lovely atmosphere. We especially love the moderately priced cocktails and the patio.

I ordered four tacos and a margarita from the restaurant. The tacos I ordered were the Pescado fish taco, the vampiro pastor taco, a carnitas taco, and a chile verde taco. I found the chunky ranchero salsa on the vampiro pastor taco to be unpleasant. The chile verde taco, while delicious, was super oily and messy. I agree with the staff's recommendation that the crunchy tortilla carnitas taco was delicious and probably their best offering. As for the Carter Devil Margarita, it was okay. However, I wish I had paid closer attention to the ingredients as I found the spiciness to be overwhelming. The restaurant has plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, as well as two restrooms (one for males and one for females). There is also a TV above the bar for watching sports. You order and pay at one of the two registers and then wait for your drinks and food to be brought out to you.

I visited this spot based on the reviews and expected to eat some great food. I was very disappointed. I ordered chips and guacamole as an appetizer. Guacamole was extremely bland. It tasted like I was eating a plain avocado. The chips lacked flavor as well. I ordered the Carne Asada plate. All bland! The rice and beans lacked proper seasoning. And the meat was chewy. The only thing I found somewhat appetizing was the Agua Fresca. I would have been better off going to Chevy's or Jimboy's. Maybe I went on a day when they were low on seasoning.

Stopped into La Venadita for the first time, had a chicken burrito, wet with red sauce and cheese and it was delicious! It’s got that cool brick urban high ceiling vibe to the place, I’ll definitely be coming back to try more of their menu, I recommend you do too!

The food was great and the customer service was even better. We were greeted by welcoming employees, we took our time looking at the menu and got some delicious recommendations. I love the patio are, and the free seething arrangement. As for the food I loved the enchiladas with the red sauce, the portions were good especially for the kids meal and the food was soo good. I recommend trying the agua frescas they are delicious.
