Ok the pork baked bao is off the charts and should be protected by state for be hidden gem in Sacramento. If you live 30 miles from here I would drive up it's totally worth it.

CASH only. Good for other Chinese food not not dim sum. Take out only and no dine in.The selection here is really slim, and the siu mai we had tasted just old. The other food was actually decent but paired with the typical service of a hole in the wall I’m typically more forgiving if the food is great but it was just decent.Ordered a Chow fun, that was the only thing that was something fresh, but was flavorless. Asked for an extra packet of soy sauce and the lady looked at me as if I asked her to have her kidney.

Such fresh dim sum—we loved it all. Came too late at 11:00a for lemon custard tarts and sesame balls but all else was ono! Don’t forget the cash, no card. Very affordable. Best to take out. Only one table inside

First of all, this place is CASH only. They have no ATM. So be prepared. Also another thing to note is that even though the name of this place states it’s a market. Not so much now a days. They have a cold case of drinks and sell Chinese newspapers, that’s about the extent of their “market”. The focus is the deli… Chinese dim sum and hot food. They sell the classic Cantonese dim sum and old school Americanized Chinese hot lunch plates. I enjoy the dim sum and hot food. The place is not fancy, very simple setup. CASH only, just repeating that again because that is an important nugget of info. They open at 8 am. That is when I usually drop in. At that time, they are stocked with the baked bbq pork buns, cocktail buns, hot dog buns, har gow, and sui mai. The other dim sum trays will fill up for the day. At times, I luck out and they already have pork filled glutinous fried dumpling, sesame balls, egg custards, and fried chicken (thighs and drumsticks). Yup fried chicken… ohhh I luv me a breakfast of fried chicken. Mmm. I enjoy all their dim sum. Like I said, it’s classic Cantonese flavors.Parking: If parallel parking ain’t your thing, there is pull in spots on U Street across from the elementary school.

I love this establishment with all of my heart. Where else can a person buy an entire lunch of barbecue buns and hotdog buns for two for under $15 these days? This place has captured my heart and my stomach. Definitely recommend the scrumptious barbecue buns and especially the har gow, which are perfectly tender, flavorful, and delicious. The staff working the counter are very kind and accommodating as well. Highly recommend!
I read a review suggesting that Lam Kwong Market consistently offers fresh dim sum due to daily sellouts. Excited to explore a new bakery with high ratings, I visited today but was left disappointed. Despite being a loyal ABC Bakery fan, I sought a different taste. However, the reviews proved inaccurate. As a frequent dim sum consumer, it was evident they were leftovers—the sesame balls and Fried Glutinous Rice Dumplings were cold inside, seemingly taken straight from the fridge. The bbq pork baked buns were dry and clearly leftover, highlighting a stark contrast to ABC Bakery where dim sum is consistently fresh. No wonder ABC always has a lineup. This first visit will also be my last; I couldn’t even finish what I purchased today.

One of my new favorite Chinese Delis now. It's located in the middle of a neighborhood. And it's a classic mom and pop shop. The char siu baos were delicious! Great meat to bun ratio and the filling was very good! Cash only for the char siu baos for sure. They had hot plates, steamed dumplings and food options, but I only got the baos on this visit. I will be back!
