Closed. Appears permanent with boards over windows and front door. Yelp says it should be open now on a Friday at noon.

Great food. Great prices. Great service. I no longer live in Sacramento but would recommend this to anyone.

Do not waste your money. Please go eat somewhere else waited 30 minutes for horrible food. 2 people cooking no one taking orders. Wasn't worth the wait. Fried rice was bad! No chowmein. Nasty food!

Keep in mind, this meal was enjoyed in a sort of purgatory between extreme Pandemic lock down and the post COVID 19 era (whatever and whenever the heck that might be). While serving jury duty for the first time, when we broke for lunch, I took a walk. The sun was beginning to warm up for the day (it hit 98 degrees before the day was done). In the court building, we all wore masks all day (something I wasn't used to have been working from home). I couldn't wait to get out, stretch my legs, breathe the outside air without a mask (when not near others), and find an eatery I hadn't tried before. No plan other than head from the courtroom toward DOCO. That's where I found Lei's: halfway between those two points while walking. No AC, folks. Outside of summer, that's not really a problem but summer in Sacramento is hell. AC is essential. Two sided menu. They serve American fare (burgers, fries) and a few Americanized Chinese food favorites. I went for the general's chicken with fried rice. They were "out of Thai ice tea," so I got a reg ice tea. They had huge bbq pork buns on display. If they'd had chicken buns, I'd be writing about those but I'm avoiding pork so let's move forward. I'd sat myself at the counter. The place looks like an old soda fountain café. Three other customers shared their lunch hours with me there. Only one person seemed to be working (serving, cooking, etc) but she did a great job at keeping up. When my food arrived, even in the midday heat, it was steaming hot, served in a to go container. I gather from observing that those at the counter get to go containers and those at the 2-top tables get plates. Kinda makes sense. I'm sure this place makes good money from the local lunch crowd. Why not save yourself having to wash dishes AND give the built-in to-go experience. The fried rice wasn't the best but it was serviceable. Pictures of the general's chicken in their window featured broccoli. Mine came with slices of onions instead. A strange choice. The meal, setting, and service met my expectations. That's what they're going for here. I doubt anyone leaves the place BEAMING, but you'll get full on their lunch plates. Nothing pulling me to return considering I don't frequent the area.

Good little place. Don’t let the simple look dissuade you.

They offer a large variety of delicious food. I loved eating here. Staff members are always kind, pricing is affordable and the place is always kept clean.

Food is good, she' always seems unorganized. Maybe if she had a little more help during the peak lunch hour, the restaurant would looks so disorganized. Place needs some TLC. Great location.

I visit this lovely spot often! This is my favorite restaurant to have a bite. I visit this place at least once a month. The cooking is fantastic, the crew is friendly and the charge is decent. I like going in this place to have a tasty meal.

I celebrated my birthday this evening in this excellent restaurant. happy to tell that we had a outstanding evening and the place was no doubt one of the reasons for the successful gathering. The stuff cooperated in a sweet manner, the cuisine was appetizing and my guests were very happy. We shall definitely return for more events. thanks very much.

I ordered the Chicken Chow Mein which was only $5.75 during Happy Hour. The food was served within minutes. Efficient service is always a plus. Chow mein noodles are thick, cooked soft, lightly fried in oil. Chicken is white meat. Vegetables are shredded cabbage, thick cut onions, and thinly sliced carrots. Chow mein was a huge meal for less than six bucks. Lei's Kitchen follows in the tradition of such Chinese hole-in-the-wall places as Gam Lei Sig and Chef Wang's: Huge portions, inexpensive prices, and fast service. What prevents me from giving them four-stars is a number of noticeable issues. There's no soy sauce, chili oil, or sriracha sauce available, which are must-have condiments for Chinese restaurants. The menu states the place is now called Burger & Chopstix but Lei's Kitchen sign still prominently adorns the restaurant. It's confusing. The yelp page states Lei closes at 4:00 pm but their Happy Hour ends at 5:00 pm. When I used the restroom there's no sign which says Men or Women, it's just a red door. Lei's website is for Diesel Men's shoes and has nothing to do with Chinese food. For a business which has been around for eight years, these mistakes are amateurish.

I have never been here either.I don't know why it's saying that I have been at some of these places.More places to come with the same response.

I just loved their dishes. I always get good customer service there. The place is always clean and the cashiers are always welcoming. Will visit here again.

This review is based solely on their cheeseburger daily special. Can't beat a cheeseburger and French fries deal for $5.25. This deal is offered weekdays from 2:30 pm-5 pm weekdays. The cheeseburger tastes great, full of flavor and if it's frozen, I can't tell. It is one of the best to me though. The restaurant does look a but run down and kind of dark (maybe cuz I've been here in winter only when the sun was setting), but as I've said before, hole in the wall places and run down ships usually have excellent food. This place is no exception. The owner is nice. Although she never smiles when I come in, she still greets me and takes my order (I grew up in an Asian household so this is typical behavior). I will continue to come back and maybe try their other dishes, but I just like the cheeseburger deal too much to try anything else.

Good amount of delicious food for the price. Not the fanciest of Chinese places but it is way better than Panda just down the street.
