I'm amazed we didn't visit this place sooner! Our server, unfortunately, I forgot his name, was fantastic! The hospitality was exceptional, and it's some of the best service we've experienced in Sacramento. We were greeted promptly upon arrival, and our server was attentive and helpful throughout. He even helped me in selecting an entree when I was indecisive. We received timely updates on our food while waiting for our order.As for the food, it was incredible! We tried the Maydoon bowl with chicken kabobs and the Taste of Maydoon. The chicken kabobs were juicy and bursting with flavor. The hummus and mast o khiar (yogurt/cucumber/mint) my husband had were among the best we've ever tasted. This place is sure to become a new favorite, and we're eager to return and try more of their dishes.

If you’re having people over and don’t want to cook, highly recommend ordering the “family style” dinner to go. Wow! What an unexpected surprise. I'd never had Persian food before, but this place was highly recommended, and I can see why. The service is great. The staff is so friendly and helpful, and the food I'd fantastic. I don't eat rice anymore and they offered to replace it with salad, which was fantastic. I had the shish kebab, and it was so flavorful and tender. My BF had the lamb shank, and it was so tender that it completely fell off the bone. The portions are very generous. Neither one of us finished, and they will both make excellent leftovers. And the prices are very reasonable for the quality and amount of food. I highly recommend it and I will be back!

Plus the customer service provided by Sergio ( I think that was my waiter's name) was exemplary... attentive, friendly service with a smile. Even with a packed house, my food came out relatively quick for a sit down experienceMaydoon serves up Persian cuisine. I ordered the Koobedeh Taste of Maydoon lunch. $19. It comes with a choice of ground sirloin or ground chicken skewer served with mast khiar (yougurt with cucumbers),salad, pitta, hummus, and basmati rice. I choose the ground sirloin. Even the serving plates were aesthetically beautiful having a casual earthy style blending in well with the decor and design theme.Oh my goodness... my eyes bugged out of my head when the plates were presented. The skewer serving was larger than what I thought it would be. To be honest, the entire amount of food was larger than I anticipated. The ground sirloin had a great grind giving it a denser texture, but still substantial. I liked the seasonings, not overpowering. Their signature salad dressing was delicious. They even sell jars of it $6. The basmati rice was fresh and fluffy. The pita was served warm. The hummus was creamy, smooth. The mast khiar was outstanding. Cool and refreshing. I am lactose intolerant but was able to enjoy this without any tummy aches.Maydoon is in the midtown area so the parking garage is all street metered. Tip: metered fees and time zone regulations are not enforced on Sundays. At least currently it is not, you may check the City Parking website to confirm.

wifey asked where i wanted to go to for my bday, and i chose here because i never been but she has been here quite a few times without me. so she asked for decor and they say no to her. since i got off early and arrived here ealy, i come in with my decor and did a gold and gudetama theme. as the guest and wifey came in, they were not shook because they know i am a little extra with decorating. . wifey was hangry and ordered us a egg plant dip without yogurt and some pita breads, to start with the whole table. . guests were thirsty and ordered cocktails. i got the house gin and tonic, with orange, lime, cherry, and black berry in it. each cocktail was average of 10 bucks and up. . main entree - i got the taste of maydoon which was a platter with house salad that comes with a creamy sauce like thousand island. basmati rice and a ground beef kebab which was good. i asked for some green sauce on the side and it reminds me of chimchurri sauce. the platter also comes with yogurt too which was good. also some hummus and pita comes with the platter. all of this mentioned was only $21. it was a steal compare to the rest of the items on the menu. . dessert i got the one scoop of ice cream for $6. It was a great big one scoop to share with the table. It contains saffron and pistachio in it. We all loved it. it is a must try if you love ice cream. . overall they do not do split checks. They do 3 seperate credit cards but it needs to be split evenly. Basically you can not just give them an amount and they run the cards seperately. Ambiance is great inside with simple, elegant, and modern. The service was great too with following up and refilling the water. Food was flavorful and presentation is great too.
