My first time visiting New Roma bakery and my last. Service was horrible. The two ladies at the front were grumpy and rude especially the younger girl. The donuts were just okay nothing special 2 stars.

Every time I come in the ambience is always very somber. I'm not sure the ladies that work there even want to be there. They NEVER smile or greet anyone. They look irritated. Today in particular I noticed the lady that helped me was wearing one glove which she used to grab my donuts. When I paid with cash I noticed she handled the money with both her hands. I realized I forgot to get a few more donuts and because I work in the food industry I'm always very observant. Well I noticed the same lady turned back to helping the next customer and she never changed her one glove and went right in to handling food with the next customer after she had touched money, the register, and her dirty apron. I can't deal with this type of crap and not feel grossed out. So I left after seeing that.
This in NOT an Italian Bakery! Far from it. I think the only thing they have that is Italian are small cannolis! LOL. I'm grew up in New York and worked in one and I know what an Italian bakery is. Having cannolis does Not make you an Italian Bakery!

This is a great little hidden gem. It has been in the area for years. Great prices and even better pastries. I couldn't decide so I got a lot of different varieties. The service was quick and to the point.
Open since 1934! The woman who served me was sweet, and I'm happy to say I made her chuckle. I purchased a huge glazed doughnut, an apple turnover, and a loaf of cracked wheat bread. She apologized that the coffee was not hot; she did not have a microwave. I was charmed by this place that has survived the decades. It's a rare, rare find. Bakeries like this are becoming few, so I took it upon myself to buy her a small microwave to warm up goods and coffee.

Great experience, I was introduced to New Roma Bakery by a family member who recalls visiting the Bakery almost every day with his father after school across the street in the mid-60s. I give New Roma Bakery my triple D's Definitely Definitely Delicious ?
