I have been looking for a new sushi place since or favorite in EG closed. Good reviews brought me here, and I'm glad they did. Service was excellent, staff knew their stuff and were happy to make great recommendations on their favorites. Fish was fresh, and every dish was well plated and looked amazing. Absolutely nothing to complain about, this is a great class act. We'll be back for sure, probably will stop looking for a new favorite sushi spot.

The ambiance of the place was great. Nice decor and Very clean, thats very important for me. My rolll was the Naoki and was on point. Verrry good. The handroll was awesome as well, it was a spicy scallop roll. The whole staff was incredibly nice and helpful. Highly recommend. I will def be going back.

Though my service was good. Two different items I ordered first an appetizer and then a sushi roll they came back to tell me they didn't have what they needed to make them. So, I chose a different appetizer. The mixed tempura was fine. The sushi roll was not. It was warm, soft, and was way too covered with the toppings. Everything was just piled on top. It looked like a Poke salad on top of the rolls that were cut and played flat. The deep fried asparagus was not crispy because everything made it soggy, and it was way overpriced at 18 dollars. Also, i asked for my meal without octopus and it came with octopus on it anyway. I would not recommend this location to anyone. I spent way too much money for eating 3 pieces of a roll after pushing most of the stuff off of the top of it, an order of mixed tempura and an iced tea. And no I did not take the rest of it with me and I told the waitress it was no good and she ignored me when I said it and just went and got the bill. Won't be coming back.Parking: This is in the same corner lot as a grocery store and a bu ch of other food spots so lots of parking.

Hinoka is a newer sushi spot opened up in the center of South Sac and Elk Grove. Food was really good. All the fishes were super fresh and if you like bigger slices of fishes, this place gives just that! I do prefer my fish slices a tad bit smaller but I cannot complain if the fishes are bigger slices either. The servers were attentive considering it got slightly busy after we sat down. We ordered a few different items on their regular menu and HH menu. *Sea Steak- 5/10 I feel like it could use a little more flavor. *Sashimi Salad- 7/10 Fresh fishes and saucey. The sauces complimented the fishes well, however if you're not a saucey type of person, probably might be too much for you. *New York Nigiri- 9/10 All the fishes were really good and fresh. The only one I didn't enjoy was the unagi. It was more on the sweeter side for me. *Hinoka Roll- 9/10 They put small slices of lemon in there, so if you don't like lemon in your rolls, ask to opt out of the lemon. I liked it because it gave a freshness to the roll. *Spicy Scallop Hand Roll- 9/10 Just try it ;) *Negihama Maki- 9/10 Fresh and simple roll. If you love hamachi, this is perfect! Im not sure if Suki Sushi just did a name change to Hinoka Sushi or if they changed completely because DoorDash shows Hinoka Sushi but on their page it also shows Suki sushi (see my photo below). I've had Suki sushi and enjoyed it but decided to give Hinoka a try. I ordered the BBQ albacore, Suki Roll and the Super Lion King Roll. I don't live far from this location so food was prepared and delivered fairly quickly. BBQ albacore was dry and 4 out of the 5 pieces were basically fully cooked. The sauce they used was runny and doesn't stick to the chunks and just had no flavor. The Suki Roll was also another miss for me, it too was pretty bland and dry. Again, needed a different sauce or even just more of the one they used. It said it was supposed to be topped with tuna, hamachi and salmon, however I feel the only fish on top was tuna, it was however fresh and buttery. Super Lion King Roll was smothered in sauce, so quite the opposite from everything else. Only problem is the sauce tasted like warm mayonnaise. This was my daughter's roll and after scrapping some sauce off, she did enjoy it, so that's a plus. Overall, I wasn't too impressed. I know when ordering to-go you don't get the benefit of being able to ask for more sauce or seeing the rolls plated all pretty but the flavor and quality should be the same and it just wasn't there for me.

Super fresh tasting sushi. Nice selection. They have high grade tuna including the expensive belly tuna (I forget the exact name). The service is great. The inside is nicely decorated. Overall. A+ experience. I highly recommend this sushi place.
