If I could give this place zero stars I would. This was the absolute worst bbqi have ever tasted. The meat was dry and rubbery, the sides lacked seasoning and they were out of chicken. How are you out of chicken in the middle of the day? I was so disgusted, I threw it away. Do not waste your money or time eating here!

My recent visit to this barbecue spot left me bewildered about its continued operation. Craving some smoky delights, I ventured in, only to be greeted by a slew of red flags. The parking lot was cluttered with broken-down cars and overgrown bushes, with an unsettling sight of an individual, likely homeless, sleeping near the entrance. The worn-down exterior set the stage for what awaited inside - a level of filthiness I've seldom encountered in my 60+ years on this planet. The dilapidated building's facade mirrored its interior, further cementing my reservations. Actually, come to think of it. The interior looked even worse than the exterior . From looking around the place, I'm not even sure if they are smoking the barbecue here, which would lead me to believe they are doing it offsite, which is probably not legal and probably not the best thing for food safety. The lack of cleanliness was shocking, making me question the basic standards of hygiene for a food-serving establishment. Equally disappointing was the customer service, or lack thereof. The man behind the counter, presumably an employee or owner, barely acknowledged my presence, epitomizing disregard for patrons. Furthermore, the state of disrepair of the restaurant and its equipment raised serious doubts about food safety. The sight of poorly maintained refrigeration units cast doubt on whether food was stored at the proper temperature, potentially posing health risks. In reflection, I pondered how such a poorly managed establishment stays afloat. It's evident that something is amiss. Considering the unsanitary conditions and abysmal customer service, I have resolved never to return. If you value cleanliness and decent treatment, I urge you to steer clear of this establishment. I would have given less stars, if that were an option .

I came in 15 minutes before closing because I was starving from a very long day on the road. Mr. Rodney the owner and pit master greeted me very kindly and took my order. I had the tri-tip sandwich. And a banana pudding. I started talking with Mr. Rodney, I asked if he was originally from Texas. And he said he spent half his childhood in Texas and half in Washington state. I put two and two together and figured Mr. Rodney was a Military kid. I asked him, and sure nuff he said yeah both parents. His restaurant smells so heavenly from the bbq pits out back. It brought back memories of my travels to Texas, Memphis, NC and Nola. The banana pudding is just like my Great grandma made. His restaurant has some very nice murals of Black Soldiers. Talking to Mr. Rodney I felt an awesome connection. Next time I come to Sacramento I'm definitely coming back here. The tri-tip sandwich was smoked to perfection. And the banana pudding was fantastic!!! I highly recommend this place!!! So sorry no pictures of the sandwich I was too hungry!!

Tri-Tip Sandwich had no flavor at all and seemed like the meat was just microwaved. I threw away my potato salad. I'm a hungry man; I do not throw food away. I threw the potato salad

It is all about the BBQ as these guys know how it's done! You go in pay and await your order outside. We'll worth the wait.

Was really expecting something magical. Its BBQ not Brain Surgery. Bunch of vehicles in the parking lot looked like the place to go, go in and only one person standing there, a counter lady who could not answer anything, and one staff in the back cooking? I got two 4 ways, tri-tip, pork ribs,, chicken leg+thigh and hot links, mac n cheese, beans, slaw, collard greens and cornbread, it also comes with a stack of white bread. Two meals at 67.00 and some change including a small tip. -Tri-tip tasted like it was reheated several times. -Pork ribs was cooked through but no meat despite it being large cut of ribs. -Chicken was raw, completely raw internally, very disappointing, it really looked like food bank chicken it was very large and skin on. Super bummer I was really looking forward to eating the massive thigh and leg. -The Hotlinks are hot links, cant mess that up. - Slaw was something my ex girlfriend made. No pizazz or flavor. -mixed bushes baked beans n doctored up with a chili powder -corn bread ok and white bread ok...its bread. after the off flavors and raw chicken I did not want to eat anything else. -Prior to eating- Meal came out and I was excited I could smell the bbq all the way home, opened my box and everything had bbq sauce all over it. like they was hiding the bloody chicken? I don't know. -I should have taken my wife out for $60.00 PLUS MEAL Half the price could have gotten the piggy plater at Buckhorn Prime Rib 3 course at Hardrock casino in Plumas Mo's would have been 50.00 or so and not swimming in sauce. Coulda bought out jack in the crack for the entre menu. Could tell this is not people who do BBQ. Service with a sneer and medium rare chicken. I like positive energy when getting food or receive anything to ingest.
