I love the bartender storm here and all the food is great..but THAT DIRTY MAC IS THE ISH...recommend this bar as a starter because you'll never leave. And they have a balcony to smoke!

I asked for Brisket with no fat was amazing paired with the 6 Rivers ale they had on tap. The sweet and tangy bbq sauces are both great.

It's been a while since I've been here so unfortunately forgot the specific cuts of meat I got (took a picture though hehe). The inside is very comfy and the folks are nice. However the meat was... average? What I mean by this is that the bbq itself was lacking in flavor. Felt like I had to use additional condiments/sauces they provide to really enjoy my meal. My food also came out lukewarm. It could be I'm being critical since my experience with bbq in Texas was so good everywhere. It's hard to find a good bbq joint in the sac area, but maybe this place could be for you. Overall 3/5 based off of my experience and my expectations for bbq. Maybe you'll enjoy it more than me!

I have been here so many times. This has been my go-to BBQ spot for a few years now. Came here last night, 3/23/24 and ordered the Midtown chow down to go. My order didn't take long and now I know why. Got home, and the first thing I noticed was how many onion rings they give with the $100 meal that is supposed to feed 6-8 people. We got maybe 8 total onion rings. Guess everyone gets 1 onion ring. The second thing I noticed was how dry the brisket looked, and my eyes did not deceive me. The brisket is usually my favorite thing but not last night. I'm not sure what's going on, but the last two times, they haven't been great either. The chicken was also flavorless and tasted unseasoned. It was also dry. I'm thinking that the brisket and chicken had to be sitting for a while under heat lamps because of how dry both were. I saw that someone left their crew a while back, was he the person who made the good brisket? I go here because it's really the only BBQ spot in Sac that doesn't smother their food in BBQ sauce. I'm kind of sad because the staff is nice, the food is just lacking recently.

Decent BBQ, lacsadisical service. A little too much attitude for the less than stellar food.

I visited this establishment on Saturday evening. This place was recommend, please note that I did look at the reviews before I went and ordered from here. The initial thought was it’s a small but busy place and I which in my mind seems like the food would be amazing. I had to wait in a line for about 10 mins or so to place my order due to the overwhelming amount of people in there which is good for business.I placed my order at the bar, the staff were pleasant and friendly.. A+ for that. After placing my order, I found a seat to wait.. Here’s the tricky part… I had no clue the food would take all my life to be cooked and come out to my table, but under-stably it was busy and it’s a small business with big crowds. I had ordered the frozen peach rose which was absolutely delicious.Once the food came out after 45 mins, I was happy but a little disappointed. I ordered the half rack of baby back ribs, dirty Mac, and onion rings. The food was worth every bite, seasoned perfectly and not tough or overcooked. The only downside is the food was cold. To have waited all that time and it still be cold was disheartening but I would still say it was worth it and I would highly recommend anyone checking this place out, just be sure to pack your patience.

This is a must try. Sacramento's always got its barbecue in check and this place always checks all the boxes. Portions are generous. Services as expected (nothing extremely special. Just courteous and moving us all merrily merrily down the barbecue stream) no hurry, no worry! The pulled pork is succulent. The brisket, not too dry, not too moist but just the right amount of smokiness. They might have downsized on the sauces, but the crispiness of the tater tots made up for it. The onion rings are perfect. The mac and cheese is perfect. The beer selection they have on hand has something for everybody, including some delicious cider. Eat inside or outside everybody's happy. On a side note, the bathrooms are clean and when I appeared into the kitchen coworkers were happy and the place was pretty clean.

I lived in Sac for 4 years and been waiting to try this place. When walking in, you can smell all the meats smoking. You need to order at the bar inside. Seating is pretty limited but didn't feel over crowded. Not sure if it was due to St Patrick's Day weekend at 6 pm on Saturday, but it took food an hour to come out The food was cold and wasn't that great. The sides weren't bad but wished they were warmed up. Maybe they are more know for their sandwich's or just sides. Ribs was one of the worst part of the meal

We have been several times and food is always awesome and great service. There is always this one guy- small to medium size with pretty eyes (lol I'm married but gotta call it out). He is very lively and upbeat. We usually do the two person meal with pork ribs and brisket. This time they had the Dino beef ribs so got that instead of pork ribs. We have also gotten the smoked wings which have a nice dry rub. Their ranch is bomb. We have brought several out of owners here and they always love it! Great dive bar/ saloon vibe. Let's okay outside. They have high chairs for our daughter. Definitely choose this place over urban roots. Food has been inconsistent there and portions are teeny. You'll pay a similar price here for a very hearty meal at Tank House.

Got the brisket, tots, Mac, and 1/2 rack ribs meal for 2. Perfect portion we were stuffed. The food was so good - beware the spicy bbq sauces... they're HOT! Which is exactly what we wanted but just know they are not messing around with the heat and flavors. Service was really fast and it's a bar so very casual environment and there aren't a bunch of college kids which is nice.

It's so hard to find a place that we can find that's open late after getting off work. Tank House always comes through with the freshly smoked meats and delicious side dishes. That late at night, it feels more like a hometown bar where you can rest and reset after a long day. The service is quick and you're in and out quickly. Tank House always has rotating specials. Tonight, they were featuring their St. Paddy's specials with corned beef burgers, brisket stew, and specialty cocktails. We just had what was on tap but I would definitely try one of the Irish cocktails next time!

DELICIOUS FOOD, good service. The Mac n cheese is creamy and well seasoned. Ambiance is nice a little hints of light throughout the bar.

Dirty tots are good, but they actually don’t do happy hour anymore.. which was the best part of going here! Also I asked on their Instagram if they did happy hour and how I missed it…. And they blocked me. For simply asking a question. Kind of petty. I miss how this restaurant was pre-pandemic, it was substantially better.Still has good food but quality has decreased, smaller portions for a higher price and less friendly staff. Staff has been blatantly rude to me since the pandemic. Parking is also hit or miss around here.
